No, we know that now. Things may change in the Autumn but right now the Guineas form behind TAS looks poor.

I wonder what his program will be next autumn. I would go Hobartville- ATC Guineas- Rosehill Guineas- QE if Winx isn't there abd depending how he's going. No prizes for originality

Won the JJ Atkins beating Zousain and Fundamentalist.
Won the Golden Rose beating Zousain and Graff. The form certainly stacks up.

Probably telling he sat 3 wide and then put 4 1/2 on them with J Mac standing in the irons the last 50 or so then isn't it.

I don’t agree but hey......
Oohood was dad stiff against the mares in the G1 last weekend Good N Fast ran a ripper in the Carbine. 4 wide facing the breeze. Vassilator crying out for 2000 and maturity was very good Saccharo was good at only it’s 5th start in a race Leonardo Da Hinchi was beaten a lip by Brutal Native Soldier clearly has ability Not sure what your basing your thoughts on |

The Carbine is usually a muck weaker race. You’d expect well performed Guineas horses to do better ( eg Levendi last year) in the Carbine. I think Ranier and Wild Planet (and proof horse like Ringerdingding were better than the horses aTAS beat.
Not saying he’s not top shelf, but putting into perspective that was a very average race. |

If the price is right, as soon as I see a market for the AJC Derby, I’ll be jumping on Vassilator

More likely to line up in the Queen Elizabeth than the Derby imo. Particularly if the great mare doesn't come up.
Could actually see him contest that race, given an appropriate campaign under him, after the George Ryder despite the increase in distance and without contesting the Doncaster.
But it's all conjecture at this point

They'll simply cherry pick any G1s they can and retire gim with an injury if he hasn't come up, a triple G1 winner already and being a Redoutes they're not going to risk him in any tough races.
Wouldn't surprise me if he takes the autumn stallion cherry picking path of beating up stayers in the Orr and Futurity and if he wins them a swansong in the All Aged. |

That sounds like the route All Too Hard took after winning the Guineas and finishing a close second in the Cox Plate.

All Too Hard and also Dissident in recent times. Although Dissident was beaten in the Futurity.

They would do that if they were confident it would work but that's all based on 1400m and on what I've seen 1400m is not really his go.

Messara says he won't run in the newly created Golden Eagle, the meat of it was he is to good for his class mates so lets win the Cox Plate for his stud career.
What chance this fella retires after the autumn with an injury and a blurb that he would have won 2 Cox Plates but for not wanting to shoot bambi and for an injury. The way Messara is promoting him he'll either retire as the most hyped Redoutes ever or as the best Redoutes ever. |

I hope he does live up to rhe hype, Redoutes Choice needs a champion to cement his legacy, the cynic in me just suspects this is all hype as most of his breed are passed their best by the time they turn 4.

It's a double edged sword which most of his better ones retire as three year old colts Afros. In some cases - his larger types - there can be breakdowns due to that pounding on their legs no doubt. But take Rock Magic as a 2009 foal who was still winning stakes races back in May. And even Super Maxi has a stakes race this year as a five year old. Even Miss Finland won G1's as a four year old mare and she's proven a good producer also.
Also what would his record be if a few more had been sent out over Derby distances. Plenty of his daughters are foaling Derby and Oaks winners every year now. So maybe he has been totally mixed up. I still think The Autumn Sun is capable of being a Derby winner. But doesn't look like he'll be given a chance to do that.

It appears a Cox Plate start for The Autumn Sun next year is unlikely after John Messara revealed the champion colt is likely to be serving mares at Arrowfield Stud next season. On Tuesday when discussing a range of topics, Messara told RSN that retirement at the end of The Autumn Sun’s three-year-old season is the current “inclination”. "He may go on but at this stage of the game the inclination is to stop at the end of the season,” Messara said. "The Cox Plate could entice us to go on as it's a great race, but if he's already won a couple of times at weight-for-age it wouldn't be as important as it otherwise might be." "I think we'll start with the three-year-old races, like the Hobartville and the Randwick Guineas, and after that it's open," Messara said. That news, combined with past comments made by Messara relating to the introduction of the Golden Eagle, would indicate the Australian Guineas and or the All-Star Mile, both at Flemington, are not priority one targets for the three-year-old colt while the Arrowfield supremo also reaffirmed his stance that a clash this autumn with Winx is unlikely. "I don't want to see her go down and if she does go down I don't want to be involved in it," he said. https://www.racenet.com.au/news/cox-plate-likely-to-come-too-late-for-the-autumn-sun-20181211 |

Sounds like he's written the blurb for his post retirement ad and released it before the wfa wins have happened. Imagine if Trump owned a stud.
