Can anyone tell me if it is legal for corporates to restrict the accounts of winning punters and restrict the features or promos on selected accounts.
To me if you offer a promo product via advertisements it could be a breech of law to then go on and restrict that offer. Basically they are saying if you loose we are happy to entice you to bet more through offers but if you win we will not give you access. The boosted odds are a classic and their seems to be 3 tiers of boost that i have gone through with most of the corporates. When you start Good boost $4.50 up to $5.50 When you show a profit Restricted $4.50 up to $4.80 When you show long term profit no boost. I think they need to be challenged regardless of the fine print.

They all say Terms and Conditions apply.
The terms and conditions will cover the rules clearly |

T&C will cover them, so it’s not illegal.

i suppose my point is are the terms and conditions legal. Its like saying your car has warranty but in the terms and conditions you state we have the right to revoke the warranty after the purchase at any time. These corps get you in with the bonuses then take them off you if you win. When you sign up many do so because of the bonus offers. I would like to see them challenged and i think there would be a case.

When you join ANY bookmaker you tick the box that says you accept their terms and conditions. If you did not like the fact that they CAN take the boosts and other incentives off you at any time, you should never have accepted their terms and conditions, you should have gone elsewhere. Nothing can be challenged because you already agreed that they can take away the incentives. Start complaining when ANY bookie does not adhere to the minimum bet limits!!! OR when a bookie says no you cannot have an account with us!! otherwise....nothing to see here. ALLAN

would you buy the car with a warranty that had that clause in there stating that....NO!!. did you say NO to the clause that they can "restrict" / or withdraw any boosts and incentives.......you ticked yes you agreed with their terms and conditions.....you can't whinge now, you signed yes. you are not the first. you certainly will not be the last...... AND... if you are getting restricted, take pride in the fact that you are doing well... stop being dirty on it.
also glory in the fact that NO bookie can now not have you as a client and the fact that they have to take a bet from you to lose the minimum according to the rules. ALLAN

Why worry about being banned or restricted? Just move on to the next place or get a family member or friend to open an account for you. It’s really not hard to circumvent these things.

Fairly sure I've seen both the "you should've read the T&Cs" and "you ticked the box" arguments challenged before.... was in regards to how tech companies go about collecting personal information. Apple or Google were on the receiving end.
The guts of the argument was that it was not fair & reasonable to expect Joe Schmuck to a) read and b) understand what's printed in the T&Cs. No idea what the outcome was, but i'd assume the good guys lost.

The T&C's are on their side but perhaps action could be taken against them in terms of false advertising.

so MY account has just lost the price pump at William Hill, Mo lost her pump there about 6 weeks ago..... but the bold text in the reply is their get out clause!! Thank you for choosing to chat with us. An agent will be with you shortly. You are now chatting with Mark. Mark: Welcome to LiveHelp Support. How may I assist you? ALLAN : hi,i have not bet at all today and trying to place a bet on last race Wyong, but no price pump available on that race? Mark: Hello there, Allan. I can definitely look into that for you. ALLAN : thanks Mark: Just one moment while I double check on this. Mark: Thank you for patiently waiting. ALLAN : that is ok Mark: Having checked, unfortunately, your account is no longer eligible for our Price Pump feature. ALLAN : really, i used it on Saturday, when did this happen? Mark: I can see here that your account was reviewed and in line with our betting guidelines, the price pump feature is no longer eligible to your account. Mark: The decision was made after the last use of your Price Pump. Mark: Please do note that the changes made is in line with the specific terms, Price Pump is intended for recreational gamblers only. William Hill reserves the right to suspend, amend, restrict or cease to offer Price Pump at any time, on any market or to any Client, without providing a reason or advance notification. William Hill is not liable for any losses which may arise in connection with Price Pump not being available to a Client. ALLAN : so a lousy $225 on a $4-40 winner makes me a NON recreational punter i guess, yes i know its a decision made by the "bosses" Mark: I do understand where you're coming from with this and unfortunately, the changes will stand. Mark: What I can do on your behalf is to pass on your feedback about this, Allan. As I do understand how you feel about this. ALLAN : we would both be wasting our time on that, but thanks for offer. ALLAN : maybe that $225 was the straw that broke the camels back? too many winners on price pumped horses? Mark: I'm afraid we do not have the information on the review. However, we can confirm that the account has been reviewed and that the changes has been made upon the management's discresion. ALLAN : thanks for that anyway Mark. goodbye. |

how p!ss weak are these bookies getting!!!.
my son is a $10 punter and for the last few months he has been investing on ALL my bets. Good on you NEDS, he has been betting with you for about 2 months and only won "about $200" and they took the one boost off him completely!!. Mind you he did increase the bets to $12 from $10 about 3 weeks ago, so he has NEDS on their knees apparently!! BIG al

Had a good look at that Neds mob & don't know how they survive. Their odds are middle of the road at best, their website is ordinary & they have a very narrow product range in Sports compared to the others (esp Sportsbet/Bet365). Now Al is saying they don't have much ticker either. What are others seeing that I am missing

They have a lot of easily exploitable promos. Run top 3 get a bonus bet, win get a bonus bet, back something in one race get a bonus bet for another race etc. Its just about every day. I’m sure they will put me out of business on one or all of the accounts I use soon enough though. |

there all weak, just lost my TAB multiplier. Yes it because in boosting $200 win bets to $5.50 and laying at $5. Been going for a few months and $5000 in front but have now been barred by lads, hill, crown, tab, neds and sports. TAB was the toughest noty knowing the boost but if your quick you jag the odd good one. Fun whist it lasted.

So are you saying Spinner that all of the corporates know when you are placing your bets with another betting agency, and also when you place your LAY bet on Betfair ?? Are bookies allowed to freely share your current wagering information, or have you just lost all of these accounts over time because you have been winning ??

They don’t need to share information. He is backing things at a price higher than the Betfair lay price. Therefore his bets are profitable long term. Very easy for them to work that out and take action accordingly. |

He's got to be backing firmers.
Ladbrokes seem to be the most aggressive in tracking that than most. |

If you abuse the promos - as E&E describes it - then you are on borrowed time receiving them. "Abuse" from their perspective would be someone who is a consistent winner (or even slight loser) who disciplines themselves to the promo offers. If you take the position that they are in the game to make a reasonable profit - the banning of these type of "opportunistic" customers is a good thing for customers that don't (the remaining majority I would have thought). I would be happy for all Corporate enticements to be banned. Let them survive on standard price, service & betting options.

yea just banned over time one by one. Yes backing horses that are shortening around the $5 mark. No form study involved, its been fun and ive closed most of my accounts and will spend the $5000 on a holiday.
TAB was a little different i multiplied mainly favorites as the $5 shots were normally unders with the TAB by more than 10% so if the multiply was 1.05 you struggled to break even so i would just go the shorties that could be matched on BETFAIR and hope for a good boost to get the overs. Most of them must rely on the same system of barring anyone using the boost feature only to bet as i was hardly showing a profit with one corp turning over $12,000 in bets for a return of $12,700 over three months and bang they barred me. All in all for a punter that normally bets about $100 pw for fun ive turned a $5000 profit in 3 months. Good fun while it lasted but not without its flaws, you have to be quick as some blow out as quick as they shorten and suddenly your laying for a big loss or holding and hoping for a win.
