Time record , I can't find it.

The Race &/or Course records do give you a good idea of form value Croca.

On Blue Diamond day .   Best Time performance was .49 outside the Race record by Gailo Chop ,   Overshare ran .83 outside compared to Written By 1.53 over the same course. (a 2Y/O) ... Russian Revolution's top win in the Plate was .89 outside.
Will be interesting to see how The winner & Booker go in future , given they both covered wide ground.     Plus Snitty Kitty used up a lot of gas early to set a solid pace.

R&S TDiff is some guide but it doesn't tell you about environmental things like wind, track bias etc, nor is it accurate in regard to precise track conditions.

Written By's slowish last 600 is a bit of a mystery to me. Overall time suggests they ran pretty fast early and not really fast home, which should set it up for swoopers normally? Some made ground as we know - out wide against the pattern - but this bloke held on handsomely after working a bit early. His last 200 in the Prelude was pedestrian (12.65) but for some reason atm I think with a decent draw and some early cover he might get the job done in Sydney. Help!!!

According to racing.com search there is no horse with that name so perhaps it's a all a myth anyway. dressmakers.

The Time shown is the actual race time recorded by the winner with the track condition shown after eg 1:58.90 G means the time was run on a good rated track. TEMP is a calculated average race Tempo per 200m. For example 12.50s implies the average tempo of the race is 12.50 seconds every 200m. TDIFF is a comparison of the Actual Race Tempo compared with the Tempo calculated from Racing and Sports Time Standard for each track and distance. For example a TDIFF figure of +0.33 implies each 200m section on average was run 0.33 seconds slower than the standard time for this distance. A cursory view of the TDIFF figures for each meeting shows which races were run at a faster tempo on the program when measured against the standard for that distance. RS SF is the Racing and Sports Speed Figure. It is calculated in lengths and represents a measure of the fastest and slowest winning races again referenced to the Standard time but adjusted for Track variant and class of the meeting in question. A RS SF is calculated for all horses who run at each meeting and is a ready reference for comparing performances. L600 is the last 600m sectional time of each race where available (measured by leader). In tabular form it is much easier to put the sectional times in perspective. #W is the number of wins recorded by all the runners in the field in the last 12 months. AWI is the field average win strike rate in the last 12 months (eg total wins divided by total runs of all runners in last 12 months) and API is the field average prizemoney for the last 12 months. (eg total Prizemoney earnt in last 12 months by all runners in the field divided by the number of starts all runners have had in last 12 months). These figures give a indication of the quality of the field.

So much available at the press of a button . These days .   We form our own opinions of what transpires , plus the advantages of "rating" a race/ or performances ,   well before their next race, has the advantage of avoiding   other influences ( opinions, early markets , press statements ) etc.
I have my basics for the Newmarket ,   before barriers , track conditions , riders etc..      What we do with them is again = all opinion.
My TOP is Redkirk Warrior ,    I think he is well drawn wide ,   Of Course Merchant Navy is THE danger , with such a record .
I don't want anything drawn in close but these races with smart horse,
are good at putting egg on our faces.
I would love to see Booker win it , she deserved the Oakleigh Plate , But my numbers have her a couple short.
.

Enbihar is nommed for the Reisling G2 filly's leadup on Sat alongside Estijaab

Is she runs it will give us some guide as to the BD form. We already had a little glimpse with Price's (hot stable atm) Seabrook.

Developing into another real race ...    My pages tell me Sunlight,Estijaab , Seabrook & Written By have a margin on Enbihaar.     You have to respect horses who do it at both ends like the BD winner did. as did Estijaab..
Seabrook was impressive in overcoming a wide run.
The top Class races generate the interest aye.

Rwick trials postponed after heavy rain. WB to trial Thursday if they go ahead or MAY run Sat as a last resort according to GBegg.

Due to heavy overnight rainfall (53mm), today’s Randwick Barrier Trials have been postponed. @atc_races

The new Kenso got good wraps the other day. What changed? Rain stuff it?

Given Begg reckoned he doesn't need a race what happens if WB goes hard again on Sat? Might be his undoing in the Slipper.

Exactly, I will tell you about Canterbury and it’s beautiful surface, it is currently being used as a quarantine facility for 3 of Weirs and Wallers horses, lucky them!

The rest tough luck.

$2 for the Pago Pago Sat.

By Ray Hickson

Unbeaten youngster Written By hasn’t had the perfect build up to his Sydney debut at Rosehill on Saturday but trainer Grahame Begg says things have fallen into place for the Blue Diamond winner to produce his best.

Begg had planned to trial Written By at Randwick on Tuesday as his final serious work ahead of next week’s Golden Slipper and not contest the Group 3 $175,000 Café Culture + Insitu Pago Pago Stakes (1200m).

Written By arrived in Sydney last Thursday and when Tuesday’s trials were washed out it had been a week since the colt had a serious gallop under his belt.

“When they were called off I was lucky enough to get him on the course proper so he still had a bit of work,’’ Begg said.

“He had a light few days (after he travelled) and then it was all geared up for him to trial on Tuesday. He was at the stage he needed to do something.''

With jockey Jordan Childs in the saddle, Written By worked over 800m on the Randwick course proper in even time and “strode up’’ his last 400m to Begg’s satisfaction.

“If we had have waited for the Slipper it would be a month between runs and that’d be too much,’’ he said.

Written By is a hot $2.00 favourite for the Pago Pago and is currently third elect at $7 for the $3.5m Longines Golden Slipper (1200m) on Saturday week.

A feature of the colt’s three wins to date has been his ability to overcome wide barriers but that’s something Begg and Childs don’t have to contend with on Saturday.

“It’s the first time he’s drawn a decent gate, it’s never easy but it will make his job a bit easier. He will be running well,’’ he said.

“We don’t want a really hard run and hopefully the track is improving.

“He does handle a bit of sting out of the ground but I’d have been reluctant had the track been heavy and I’d have to think differently.’’

Stratum (2005) is the last Pago Pago winner to back up and take out the Golden Slipper.

Ironically, Written By’s sire Written Tycoon contested that Slipper having won the Todman Stakes as his final lead up but finished 11th.

Begg took a two-year break from training in 2014 and relocated from Randwick to Pinecliff in Victoria. Written By was his first Group 1 winner in seven years.

As most racing folk would know he’s no stranger to preparing a top class galloper with some of his more recent stars including the likes of Secret Admirer, Ilovethiscity, Written Tycoon and All Silent.

“They aren’t easy to find but two-year-olds are natural,’’ he said.

“It’s about finding a horse with that natural ability and they’ll show their hand and that’s what he’s done.’’

Her best run of her life has been the quick back up to win the Millions. So doubt it.
