Not surprising. Those involved are hardly likely to confirm the truth - even those in the know have every reason to stay silent. Of course a suit would involve subpoenas, medical records, and a lot of unnecessary pain to at least one innocent party.
The first to go on record will break the dam, as happened in the Weinstein case. That might help drain the swamp for the future but I very much doubt anyone involved has the integrity and guts (and it will take a huge amount of that) to step up.

The woman involved was asked several times before publication for her comments, & given right of reply. She refused & instead began a campaign of threats & harassment that are being referred to police. Not as black & white as you might think

He was also caught flying business class with his kids to the NT. Unfortunately for us,but fortunately for the kids, it appears that dads staff weren't very efficient in planning his meetings, so Dad only had one brief meeting each day on what became an extended trip. Every time it happens Burkesvlooks very sorry and states that his behaviour has been beyond community expectation. Does that mean he repaid the claim? Hahaha "Why should I? It's within the rules" ......parasite |

Hasn't destroyed enough of them to date. It's one thing to expose and shame, another to pursue properly at law to the bitter end. That of course is a decision for the DPP who is subject to economic blackmail by government. He/she then has to prioritise and judge what's in the public interest/of highest "value". Would have thought that political/police/government/business corruption would be near the top

It sure is hard to find stuff about Tony "the Travel Consultant" Burke and his staffer/root, Skye Laris in any ABC publications, that's for sure!

Like most of his liaisons it seems. And his political career hopefully. It's temporary only because of public exposure and commensurate outrage.

We'll ignore the allegations of The Beetrooter's multiple liaisons and sexual harassment because atm they aren't beyond question but I can't recall Burke preaching about family values while fcuking around or berating Sydneysiders concerned with high housing costs while living rent free in his love nest. Im sure you'll be along with evidence to show the error of my ways shortly. NFL. Funny how even some cons think that a banking RC was an absolute necessity don't you think? Turnablindeye of course thinks there's nothing to find - or did until the banks told him to organise an enquiry but emasculate it by restricting its breadth, time, and funding. Pity he caved because it would have been great theatre to see members of his govt crossing the floor to vote for a private members bill establishing the very enquiry he said was totally unnecessary. Then again the spineless wonder doesn't mind spending taxpayer money on unnecessary enquiries when it suits does he?

Nah, I take it back - Burke is a parasitic career ALP Politician ... much worse!
Turnbull spineless? ... couldn't agree more! ... yet, he looks like a rock compared to the puppet on a string, Bullgelati Bill - the LNP's "Great White Hope" for another term! What about his latest brain fart - $75k for every member of the "stolen generation" - seriously Bill, can you be more divisive when promising to do NOTHING? ... I don't know who advises these morons, but surely it wasn't an ALP strategist? I disagree with all of these meaningless inquiries, as well as the ICACs and Anti Discrimination Boards and HRC's, etc, etc - just a waste of money on overpaid bureaucrats with socialist agendas in most cases - put the money into the DPP and police, and use the laws that are already there to deal with the crooks - we already know who they are and what they have done wrong. Mind you, a good tax payer funded inquiry is always good for a health injection of money into a sagging economy. |

Unsurprisinglyyour analysis and political ken is on a par with the rest of your comments on these forums. The thing making Shorten look good is the complete ineptitude of the government, enhanced by the public realisation that Turnablindeye's hypocrisy, lack of ideas and protection of economic oligarchies (like the mining and petroleum cabals) is actually his real character shining through - contrary to the finely crafted false persona he projected when in a position of zero power to get things done for the good of ALL Australians. He has no legacy whatsoever and will be long remembered as Billy McMahon, albeit with spine removed.

Please pay attention! ... maybe you should do some reading, lest you come across as willfully STUPID, or sumfin'!
Shorten is consistently THIRD CHOICE LEADER by ALP VOTERS in opinion polls! ... he ain't exactly tearin' it up ya know! I know you're blind hatred of successful people is hard to overcome (Turnbull, Trump, etc), but you can blame your genius institutionalised Greens/ALP strategists for being such blind soft cocks, if he's still leading come the election, and you lose because of the jockey! |

Your reading of me is so accurate I'm shocked to the core. Add Gina Rinehart to that list if you like. Sometimes I do waiver though - I'm only human after all - and find myself in deep admiration for wealthy, successful people like Gates, Turner, Buffett, Zuckerburg, Soros, etc. Perhaps unsurprisingly they are all aware of their privileged positions and are all great philanthropists. Even Twiggy Forrest occasionally twangs the old empathy strings. Many of us admired (perhaps a better term would be 'were somewhat taken in by') Turnbull's carefully crafted persona when he first entered politics. He began to show his true colours as LotO but was laid completely bare when he knifed Abbott (that will be his great legacy come to think of it) and took over his lusted-for crown. Turnbull's political hypocrisy and dishonesty along with his obvious ineptitude for leadership of a nation, and his spineless wavering and backflipping, have naturally led to a slight disappointment at times (that would be a very big LOL). Turnbull simply likes being PM and will apparently (if you're still naive enough to believe his pre-govt comments on many topics) turn his principles upside down in order to sit on the throne. Personally I now seriously doubt he has ever been anything other than a power lover with the commensurate principles of 'do whatever it takes to stay there'. People ask where the "real Malcolm" is. The answer is staring them in the face but they simply (and understandably) don't want it to be so. Thousands of rusted on Laborites and even more left leaners like myself were very disappointed in the PLP when they installed Shorten - against the popular vote of LP members as we all know. Some don't like his personality (does he have one?), others simply think he doesn't have the nous or vision to lead this nation properly (anyone can "lead" it without having a clue what to do, as Abbott so aptly demonstrated). Shorten's performance imo has been across the board D with a few minor skirmishes taking him to a C but because of the Rudd and Gillard knifings we are all stuck with him. Unfortunate fact for many, but he may surprise when gifted the levers of power by the inept and rudderless cons. Personally I'm not holding my breath having seen his lack of nous and leadership on a number of fronts already. Trump - what is there to say that already hasn't been said. But to set you straight - Trump is simply an obtuse, narcissistic, lying, hypocritical @rsehole who, as the saying goes, I'd be loath to waste my urine on should find himself on fire. Hope this helps to clarify your very confused mind on at least a couple of matters. |

Trump is on fire in the USA.
Jobs , Growth and the confidence of his people. He has even given Australia the " pick of the crop " as our new Ambassador. One with Japanese running in the veins, so should put China on notice. |

Senate passes motion calling for Barnaby to resignLabor, the Greens and the crossbench have just passed a motion calling for Barnaby to resign. 35-29 "The Senate calls on the Deputy Prime Minister to resign from his position of Deputy Prime Minister of Australia for clearly breaching the standards required of Ministers; and if he does not resign, calls on the National Party to sack him as leader" A motion does not force the deputy PM to resign, but it does heap pressure on Turnbull to prove he has control of the Parliament. The only speakers who spoke in favour of Barnaby were Nationals senators McKenzie and O'Sullivan. Not a single Liberal defended the deputy prime minister. |

Mathias Cormann to be acting PMIn an extraordinary turn of events, Senator Mathias Cormann will be acting Prime Minister while Barnaby Joyce is on leave and Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is in Washington. Senator Cormann has been elevated to the role as the next most senior member of government - as leader in the Senate - afterForeign Minister Julie Bishop. Turnbull told question time the Foreign Minister has an extensive program commit mid the United Kingdom, Hungary and Slovenia next week, despite Bishop earlier offering to fly home for the role. |

Barnaby survivesIn an extraordinary press conference Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has decided to re-write the ministerial standards because of the actions of his own Deputy Prime Minister. He stopped short of asking the Nationals to ask him to stand aside - saying it was a matter for them - but then went on to say that his Deputy Prime Minister's actions had created a "world of woe," "appalled all of us" and "inflicted terrible hurt and humiliation." As a result of Barnaby's affair, all future ministers will be banned from having sexual relationships with their staff, but Barnaby will remain Deputy Prime MInister when he returns from leave next week. Limits of the codeHow do you police the code? That's the question floating around the halls of Parliament. A closer inspection of the Turnbull's announcement today shows ministers will not only be banned from having sex with their own staff but also: "other ministers or members of the Australian public service." The suspicion is that it will be very hard to police in practice, but if ministers are caught - it will result in instant dismissal. Barnaby sidelinedIt is understood Barnaby was surprised by the personal tone of the attack from the PM. He expected the ministerial code of conduct, but did not expect Turnbull's vicious attack on his personal battle, which included accusing the Deputy PM of inflicting terrible hurt and pain. For now, Barnaby is safe because the National Party is behind him. And without the National Party, there is no Coalition and no government. It's a numbers game. |

But not another of its far more important laws if rumours are true. The question which needs to be asked by someone, but won't by the complicit 4th estate, is: Mr Joyce, did you "date" (insert appropriate explicit verb) other staffers/journos/lobbysists/researchers/associates/advisors/humans before the affair with Campion? Get the denial on record. Ideally this question should be asked while voters on both sides manipulate "the worm" as he replies. Would be a guaranteed ratings smash.

Sexist . Assumes all Cabinet Ministers are male.
On second thoughts any woman following those instructions would also instantly lose the urge. Orders of magnitude worse than bromide in the tea.
