Flemington assault: Victoria Police release images of suspects


Victoria Police are searching for four people wanted in connection to a robbery and assault at a store in inner Melbourne in which an elderly man was punched.

Police allege two men and two women grabbed a number of items at a shop in Flemington before attempting to leave without paying at about 6pm on July 18.

A 64-year-old male staff member attempted to stop them but the group resisted with a woman punching the elderly Brunswick man before the foursome fled the Racecourse Road store.

Victoria Police have released images of the people in an attempt to find them and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

PT, More than likely under pressure from the politically correct AFL the police gained access to CCTV videos, which are all over the MCG, to draw up that hit list of violent fans. After all the AFL has its image to protect, and who better to call on than the Victorian Police, who with the revelations at the Lawyer X royal commission are in damage control,and like the AFL,are after a few brownie points.

If he did escape from a mental institution 3 days ago and he had his medication with him but wasn't taking it, chances are he does suffer mental health issues.

But at this point in time its getting so most every day people dont care !!  They just dont care about people like him.  Too many avenues and outlets to get help for drugs etc these days.  All they have to do is seek help, and more to the point, when its given, do what they are suppposed to do, and if they choose not to, no one cares what happpens to them.  No one cares to listen to the same old story about mental health issues.  Chances are if he wasnt a druggie he wouldnt have mental issues.   People dont care about him and others like him.  Its the innocent victims that deserve our care .

Nobody disagrees with most of that, but what do you do to treat people with mental health issues that is different to what is done now? He was in a facility, police knew him and said he was low risk. What changed and how did he get out? Is the problem being sufficiently funded? 

You can't predict a person going off the rails and being murderous with 100% accuracy. There will always be some get through and are unfortunately very destructive. Those few are among hundreds of thousands that are successfully managed. No system is perfect
