I've heard virtually thousands of people who were going to write books .

The reason was obvious , but in better times the urge improves , along with other reasons for it not being done .

I would buy your book JJ.   Where do you get it .

Very saddened at the news over night that cycling commentator Paul Sherwen has died at the age of 62.

Sherwen was a professional cyclist in the 70's and 80's and won the British road cycling title in 1986 and 1987.

He also helped establish the Pauls Peloton group, which was created to send bicycles to Paul's home nation of Uganda, where he had lived since he was seven.

However, Paul is best remembered as one half of the dynamic duo who brought cycling to the English speaking world. Along with Phil Liggett, he brought a vivid and comprehensive description, of cycling to audiences in the US and Australia, via SBS, and he was so respected that he had commentated for NBC on the last five Olympic games.

The grand tours will not sound the same without Paul Sherwen's voice alongside that of Phil Ligget.

Not sure if we have any wrestling fans here, but we have lost another champ from the past.

Tommy Billington, whose ring name was The Dynamite Kid, has passed away on his 6oth birthday overnight.

The Dyanmite Kid was a very technically gifted wrestler, as is the ccase with most English wrestlers, and he was successful on his own, but his teaming with The British Bulldog, formed one of the best, and most loved tag teams in professional wrestling history.

Sorry folks the tag team were called the British Bulldogs, and his partner was Davey Boy Smith, who was actually Tommy Billington's cousin.

Still bitter.

You only scored 1 point last year and claimed premature victory, please don't let history repeat itself, I am not sure you would cope.

Roger the ripped kangaroo dies aged 12 after 'lovely long life'

Posted 21 minutes ago

Roger the ripped kangaroo, who sprang to fame when he crushed a metal bucket between his paws with a physique that's made many humans jealous, has died at a Northern Territory sanctuary.

Key points:

  • Roger has been buried at the sanctuary, where he lived for about a decade
  • The owner of the sanctuary described the famous kangaroo as his "best mate" and "son"
  • The muscular macropod first became famous for crushing a metal bucket between his paws

The much-loved alpha kangaroo had millions of fans when he died from natural causes aged 12 at The Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs.

"We have lost our beautiful boy," owner Chris Barns said.

"He lived a lovely long life and was loved by millions around the world."

For five years Roger was the "boss" at the sanctuary but in 2016 his years started to catch up with him, Mr Barns said.

His eyesight was failing and he was being treated for arthritis.

Mr Barns described Roger as his "best mate" and "son" but had only been able to pat the kangaroo as he slowed down around his 11th birthday.

"He's an old man now and although still very big and strong he's an old man and old men don't fight," Mr Barns said in a video posted to social media.

"I want his last few years or years to be happy out here in the bush."

Roger has been buried at the sanctuary, where he lived for about ten years after Mr Barns rescued him.

"He will always be here," Mr Barns said.
