Given no chance there. They were always going to roll forward but Addictive Nature and Levendi fixed his little red wagon. Pity.

So Bailey has called J Allen into the room and asks " were you the pacemaker for the stablemate", Allen replies " this is not a maiden in the bush, this is a G1 lol, of course not,Cliffs Edge runs unconfirmed first 1000 in 58-92, with 2 splits OF 10-76, and 11-33, , straightens up 3 in front and bang into a 40 kph headwind , its has to be a forget run , imo the best horse won the race, it's just such a shambles when these two race clubs can't come together for one really competitive GNS, they are the pits when it comes to common sense, rant over!

The 22sec from the 1400 to the 1000m spelt the end for Cliff. The winner went forward too and had the perfect sit 1 out , with the field spread out. The heavily backed runner up improved on his previous . I split the sides laughing at their benchmark ratings . When Grunt beat Cliffs Edge previous they gave Grunt a rating of 69 . Peaceful State 3.5L away they gave him 77 (Why) Yesterday they gave Grunt 84, Peaceful State 77 ????? My ratings Grunt 69.5 Peaceful State 69 = Doesn't that make more sense. Bring Me Roses 65.5 etc. |

i think Cliff's Edge has a more suitable race, the Alister Clark Stakes at MV Friday night. He has placed over the course to Aloisia.
Will be an interesting Race, especially with the early pace in question. |

Has he bounced back from the hard run in the Guineas Shawy? Looks a good thing if he has.

Geez hard seeing him get beaten tonight. The only on pace runner in the field. Just has to go at his cruising speed and no one will best fast enough to run him down.

Agreed. Very short but it wins. J Mott is such a smooth jockey. He's all about timing and rhythm. I'm sure he'll rate it well. What was that gelati from J Allen last start?

On at the $2.4 they opened final field and thank the almighty for that because they've jumped out of the trees to come for him.

Punters see no pressure whatsoever on him early which means Astoria and Levendi will have to run good late sectionals to beat him. Not interested at the price but if he gets to 1.80+ (possibly tote) I might be

Love this horse. Very well deserved win. Will be hard to beat in the Rosehill Guineas, assuming they go there.

This horse will always be extremely hard to beat on the short straights due to his cruising speed.. Rosehill, MV, Caulfield.. just run him there

Perfectly rated by Mott so no-one would bother trying to take the lead. Good job those who got in early. Looked a treat in the parade, almost asleep.
Belfast was good enough late also whereas Astoria ran as his form suggested.

Might not have the highest ceiling but you know what you’re going to get and he keeps giving it to you. Puts a slice of honour into the game, a horse like this.

He’s as tough as they come. Reminds me of horses from 20-30 years ago, they don’t make them like that anymore.
They’re unsure what to do with him now, Sydney or give him a break. |

Reminds me of Weir's other 'limited' horse Stratum Star. They'll be happy to emulate him I reckon.

They'd be mad not to have a crack at the Rosehill Guineas before a spell. The horse is a deadset 2000m horse.

Will win by 10 plus. |
