Its safer to wait to they have a run before locking in.
Plenty of 3yr olds that could find lengths next prep. Watch the frenzy after the first lead up race.

Thanks mate, I'm a bit taken with this filly, acts on any surface, pet distance , no problems l/h or r/h, seasoned traveller and dreadfully honest also a f/u specialist, to add a little spice to my post lol trained by the best of the freedmans to put a bridle on a horse in my humble opinion. |

The race is not attracting anything inspiring.

I agree, but what would inspire? Harry Angel? Bataash? A Japanese representative? I was thinking last night about the HK quarantine ban and, should it be lifted, whether an Ivictory or a Mr Stunning might be a chance? Probably moot at the moment. |

Unfortunately it is a dull period in Australia for sprinters at the moment, If this sort of prize can not attract international participation it is failing.

I think you may be down playing it a bit djebel, there are a few there that could go to the UK or cross the channel and win in good company, don't forget we have had one oz horse go o/s this year winning G1 and G2, just saying.

US Navy Flag, winner of G1 July Cup at Newmarket today has been penciled in for a possible start in the race. Drop in distance did the trick for this horse. |

More Everest Hype by Darley. Not a hope in hell he will be coming, but serves there purposes to promote their own horse. Typical Breeding Industry self promotion. Nothing has changed.

Great news for the Everest with the July Cup winner coming. Unless it attracts top overseas sprinters the Everest does not work for me.

Not really. For 1, it's an actual Group 1 race and 2, it's on the dirt

Had to come after yesterday.
Interesting comment from Glyn 'how did I end up here' Schofield today. Kementari has beaten the fav TA twice but as yet hasn't got a slot.

Gee they are jumping in fast this year. THat's only two slots left and Kementari wouldn't qualify for one as it's William Inglis and he'd be home bred wouldn't he. I think they choose from sales graduates.

Kementari is one of those gallopers djebel was thinking of when he was saying horses aimed at the Kosciusko would miss out on opportunities if aimed at the race.
Surely Kementari is an Epsom horse, and that is the week before or close to the Everest. The ATC would want to see how this pans out. There was talk during the winter that Happy Clapper would be set for this race first up, if that happened the ATC lose one of its drawcards for the spring, and gift Melbourne an a grade, top class miler for the Kennedy Mile and the Emirates. Kementari could win the race first up, but I think the racing public are lucky that the owner really does not care about the money aspect to racing. |
