Trapeze Artist is absurd odds! Loved his second up run and he's the one to beat.

My husband said he did a Melbourne Cup!  I couldn't get him until he said didn't Archer win the first two cups.  Then one of the TV people said the same thing.

Too good unfortunately . I took a first four just for fun. Redzel, Trapeze Artist , Le Romaiine and Graff. Not fond of Osborn Bulls!

Pierata wins the prior race in a time of 70.82 seconds.

Redzel is able to win a $13m race in a modest 72.03 seconds.

Work that one out.

Same as last year SC.  It was a good win by Pierata though.

This is the weather observation chart for Sydney airport.  The last column records rainfall.  I would imagine Randwick would be very similar,

Between 3.58pm and 4.14pm there was 3.2mm of rain.  The slot race was run at 4.15pm.  That could (partly) account for why the time was competitively slow.

Rained some, but not heavily, and no track downgrade.  Wink

Surface water always slows them down, especially on an already heavy track.

If you say so.

Thought the fact Redzel was allowed to dictate with no mid-race challenges whatsoever might have been a factor.  Wink

Look at the splits, Redzel ran a faster first 600 and slower last 600 than Pierata's race did.

Thanks Speedy, which suggests he was allowed to walk mid-race, and thus had the race won at the 600m.

Exactly my point.

Jungle Edge the difference. He made it easier for both winners.
