Yes it's been shocking lately! ... need to get those hamsters working harder! ... not this one.

In reference to every post in the Trump thread ... "There may have been a tiny bit of license taken there" ... Ok, Thanks for the "heads up" PT!

No problems, either getting back on topic, or with the speed of the site, haven't noticed anything.

No problems here with speed or site .

Love the banter .    I would go mad if Whale wasn't about for education purposes.

What bluddy fool put a P in front of neumonia.     or stuffed up the spelling of that famous asthma treatment   aminophyyline .

has the question been asked,
why didnt Rudd or Gillard introduce ssm, or why not leave it to the next labor government to bring in ssm....or is that too far away?

libs, you should have ignored this issue and let labor deal with it.

gillard was against it, just cos- didn't have a reason but against it. Now the spectacular hypocrite is for it.

Rudd the same- against it while in power- for it after- how convenient- spectacular hypocrite.

They wave this way or that, according to which way the breeze is blowing. That is not leadership. And it is not the preserve of Labor, plenty on the other side have had changes of mind. They flock like sheep. At least Abbott has maintained his attitude. Being seen as out of step with your fellows, is dangerous territory, socially and politically. That is how ideas that take hold, are re-inforced, by compliance of people to the principle of "safety in numbers"

Not many in politics, particularly that most unprepossessing variant, the "career" politician, want to be seen as outliers. Stranded out there, you can become de-coupled from the safety of the crowd. Perhaps Abbott does stand on principle above popularity, or maybe just a captive of the past, and his Catholicism, or some combination of the above.

HOW DISGUSTING can it get.
I just watched Q & A.      Here they have Bill Shorten listening to a group of some dozen 12 year old girls , on about same sex marriage.
Shorten when questioned as to should 12 year olds have a say or would they be seen as brain washed youngsters.      CAN YOU BELIEVE he said , " they have just had a say "

This is FXKING CHILD ABUSE at it's very worst.
It looked BAD, it sounded BAD & it is disgracefully BAD.

Rates with the worst of , the worst .
NO may save these KIDS .     What depth of Morals have we sunken to.

We are below the levels of all Animals.

senior alp figure tony bourke is,rather quiet on the ssm vote.

he isnt a regular twitterer but he has found time to tweet about the burqa, migration and hanson in the last few days. i cant find anything offering his support of gay marriage - despite him changing his opinion from NO to YES.

i wonder why this is?

He is a left wing Catholic who opposes SSM as many on the Labor left do.

If he has changed his mind it is on party lines or to represent this constituency.

Lawyers, marriage celebrants, reception venue owners, wedding cake makers, diamond ring makers, all agree, SSM is the ticket.

Supported it since 2015 when he made a speech on subject.

Any politician that changes their mind on an issue without an explanation, can be assumed to be a weather-vane job.

Burke will probably run dead on it though I don't know why. His electors will surely be reminded of his conversion at the next election- in for a penny, in for a pound.

sorry..i thought your article said why he would not vote for ssm.

he recognises his constituency not supporting it, so he puts them in front of the alp position.

and as a front bencher he is required to maintain the party position...which he does but ever so quietly.

Its obvious...can you imagine the response he would get from his constituents if he campaigns in auburn, punchbowl, campsie etc on the YES to gay marriage vote?

So here's a question ... if these Green Councils who are bending over backwards for Aboriginals, by banning Australia Day, also going to push the "NO" GAY MARRIAGE barrow too, as is the cultural position of traditional Aboriginals ...? Embarrassed ... not to mention their next favourite minority group, Muslims!!!Tongue
