I try to, now and then (to cleanse the soul) and I caught about the last 20 mins of Q&A tonight ... going to have to watch the full program now! ... from what I saw, The Parrot took the bunch of snooty nosed Socialists (including the "oohing" audience) to school.

What I saw of it was brutal! ... I almost felt sorry for Albo!!! Ouch

Looks like it's back to the drawing board lefties ... Whilst most of you hate Shorten as much as the normal folk, Albo just aint got it Thumbs Down

When there were 3 commercial TV channels, and a handful of Radio Broadcasters, mainly in the cities, and they didn't cover the full spectrum of services to the nation, MAYBE there was a place for a National Broadcaster.

Now that we have the option of literally hundreds of free media options, and thousands if you include the subscription options and the internet, just what is the commercial purpose of a tax payer funded broadcaster?

What is the point of a TAXPAYER FUNDED broadcaster that actually RUNS AT A BILLION DOLLAR LOSS, and then uses MORE OF OUR MONEY to advertise (?), and attract viewership, in competition with free enterprise, when their ratings are irrelevant?

In what other industry would that be OK? Wacko

The only purpose for a Taxpayer funded broadcaster is to fill in the gaps left uncovered by the free to air providers - like children's programming and remote regional broadcasting - the cost of which would not be 10% of the BILLION DOLLARS + P.A. of OUR MONEY that is currently pissed up against the wall.

Ironically, when they had their funding levels maintained this year (not cut, just no increase) that is where the ABC immediately CUT spending - regional staffing fiddlesticks!!! ... they are an out of control, politicised joke, and if you don't see that, you should stick to the children's programs!

I wonder how much all of the elitist bed wetting Socialists would be screeching if the ABC was infiltrated by conservative views and attempted to influence the political landscape in that direction? Can you imagine the "Rrrrreeeeeeeeee"s ... Cry

For that alone it over rides everything you have just wasted your time writing.

Have lived in regional areas, counting the ACT, for the last 50 years, and like many country people would be lost without the ABC.

ps 77% of ABC coverage does not involve politics per se. And ABC radio (both city-based and rural) is simply marvelous imo - some of you should give it a go unless of course you prefer shock jocks or mind-numbing antiquated music based networks.

... they are renowned for their NON REPORTING.

There are a myriad of ISLAMIC TERROR EVENTS that they CHOOSE NOT TO BE NEWSWORTHY, so simply DO NOT REPORT THEM.

The biased of programs like Q&A, 7:30 Report and Insiders is so overt, it is a standing joke in the community, and nobody really cares.

However, the kind of unfettered CENSORSHIP their news indulges in is simply the worst kind of biased reporting!
