All I can say is even we don't seem to be in agreement and I'm certain none of us are Muslims. So how do we expect them all to be the same. I'm Catholic and there are definite Catholic haters above. Sure for plenty of good reasons - lots of people from my religion have done the wrong thing - no excuses.
The young Muslim living in England said the closest to what you all wanted to hear but surely he is a marked man. He speaks common sense and lived in what appears to be a hell on earth. Yet he would go back if the people in charge changed. Mind you he wouldn't be allow in to Australia anymore if the law changes. Too bad about that hell on earth. He was just unlucky to be born there! I think we need to be better than that. Likewise the young man in Melbourne who has come to Australia and assimilated. Same as my former brother in law. His second wife from Lebanon spends a great deal of her time back there. The two children went to Australian Schools and are articulate beautiful girls. Ideal citizens. Then another friends daughter just married a son of a lapsed muslim. The father didn't bring the family up in the faith. Married an Australian girl and the son and daughter went to Aussie Schools work in K-Mart etc. Typical ordinary Australian lives you would think. But every letter the son and father receive are always opened before they get them. So it seems that names are used for checking! Now after the footballers last night failed to follow a minute silence as that isn't in there culture maybe we are closing in on what makes them tick. There doesn't always seem to be that ability to understand that you live by the rules of the Country your in - hense the no standing for judges etc. So why isn't this taught to them before they come here. You have a list of Australian rules and laws that are dissimilar to what they have been brought up with. If the law is then broken they have no argument to fall back on. If some of them (obviously the less religious or the followers of a more generous gentler branch of Islem) can become perfect citizens why lump them all together. Poor old England have really coped it this last month. Paris and Brussels and most of the Middle east and alot of Africa also. Why? Why do we need an Islamic State. Why separate people. That way leads to misunderstandings between people. We split up India into India and Pakistan but Indian's still get blown up! Yet for centuries the Coptic Christians have liven next to the people now blowing them up. In Syria in that town which has been so cut off that alot are starving a nurse speaking to TV media blamed the West for not intervening and stopping this mass killing. Another hater who perhaps looks at things differently to us. If we went in the UN would of stood against it and maybe it would of been even worst. Or maybe people could of been saved. The thing is once the hate begins it seems hard to extinguish. An eye for and eye seems to be part and parcel with the middle east. My religion says I should love even my enemy (obviously misread by many also). That is hard to do and one I fail on plenty of times. How can you love someone stabbing you to death? Seems mad doesn't it. Yet after the mad hatred of World War II Europe stopped short of more stringent penalties for the Countries already crushed by defeat. We took in many from either side and made them live side by side. It worked and people discovered the human side of people they had formerly hated. We all have our children and talents to share lover around. My condolences go out to all those being torn apart by blind followers of a strict path - who believe they are the only ones who know the truth. We are human and can only try to lead a good life. Hard enough to do for yourself. People come in all shapes and sizes as the above show us. You all have some good points. There is absolutely no one way out of this mess. We can only hope our leaders are better than they seem to be in solving the worlds issues. We like the victims families can only wait to see what happens next.

one big difference you miss furious..
those catholic haters you mention, hate the religion in totality. and wont defend anything or anyone in the faith. try and find that isolated contempt for islam by those same people. you wont. they limply say "i hate all religions" as if that gets them off the hook and hides their true position. Then they go about their business of furiously defending islam at every turn. and/or ignoring the filth within that faith. they become radical islamic defenders or proxy islamists dont be surprised if whale PT and sub arent having a beard growing competition to raise money for punchbowl high school. the school needs funds to build a segration unit for infidels. Certainly strange behaviour from the Saudi's and a poor excuse. Not sure a woman caught driving there could get away with saying the same thing that's it's not in our culture.
For me, it was more the fact that it was only a minutes silence for London and not Iraq or Iran that caused Saudi to refuse. We lost an Australian kid in Iraq. Why waa she ignored? |

[/QUOTE] you have no idea cabo, not a news scoop really. I dislike all religion ,including Islam. But I don't generalise about and hate all adherents of religion as you do with Muslims. I hate the abhorrent ones |

They were Saudis. You'd have to believe in the tooth fairy to think they wouldn't understand where the terrorism funding's coming from. As tasteless as it was I think I preferred it that way- a show of solidarity for the victims would've been more hypocrisy than I could handle.

... and so the reason we must stop them coming here!
... the ones that arrive today, groom and "educate" the "home grown" (in isolated Islamic slums in Bankstown, Greenacre and Punchbowl) terrorists, that we will face in 10 and 20 years time ... are the deniers and apologists so stupid that they think they will just stop doing what they have been doing for generations ... just because we hope that it will happen???

Just let them all in, they are just like us ... no they are not.
Poor Whale would be stoned to death AND beheaded every second day for his blasphemous posts!!! This is where the Socialists would have us go, well, anyone who disagrees with their virtue signalling or the Quoran, that is ... 'Facebook blasphemer' given death penaltyA man accused of posting blasphemous content to Facebook has been sentenced to death by a court in Pakistan. Taimoor Raza was convicted after allegedly posting remarks about the Prophet Muhammad, his wives and companions within the site's comments. The public prosecutor involved said he believed it was the first time the death penalty had been awarded in a case related to social media. Human rights campaigners have expressed concern. Facebook itself has yet to comment on the case. The US firm previously announced in March that it was deploying a team to Pakistan to address the government's concerns about blasphemous content on its service, but added that it still wished to protect "the privacy and rights" of its members. Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has described blasphemy as being an "unpardonable offence". Religious debateRaza's case was heard by an anti-terrorism court in Bahawalpur - about 309 miles (498km) from the capital Islamabad. His defence lawyer said the 30-year-old had become involved in an argument about Islam on the social network with someone who had turned out to be a counter-terrorism official. The public prosecutor said the accused had been arrested after playing hate speech and blasphemous material from his phone at a bus stop, following which his handset had been confiscated and analysed. Raza will be able to appeal against the death penalty at Lahore High Court and then, if required, in Pakistan's Supreme Court. The Express Tribune, a local newspaper, reported that the verdict came days after a college professor was refused bail in another case involving accusations of blasphemy on social media in Pakistan. Amnesty International recently published a report critical of the country's blasphemy laws. Its Pakistan campaigner, Nadia Rahman, has called for Raza's immediate release. "Convicting and sentencing someone to death for allegedly posting blasphemous material online is a violation of international human rights law and sets a dangerous precedent," she told the BBC. "No one should be hauled before an anti-terrorism court or any other court solely for peacefully exercising their rights to freedom of expression and freedom of thought, conscience, religion or belief online." Analysis - Tahir Imran, BBC Urdu social media editorThis is a dramatic time for Pakistani social media. Once considered a platform where people could express themselves freely, it is now a place where people worry about the consequences of commenting. Instead of acting to restore confidence and safeguarding the masses' right to freedom of expression, the government has been busy making threats through TV and newspaper adverts. This is happening with a clear understanding about the gravity that accusations of blasphemy can have. There have been several incidents of vigilantes taking the law into their own hands after such claims. Human rights activists accuse the government of pushing through a controversial cyber-crimes law without addressing their concerns. In a country where fewer people have been convicted of blasphemy than have been killed after being accused of the offence, this ruling will not calm nerves. And increasingly people prefer to use chat apps and closed groups to post content so that their thoughts cannot be seen by the wider public. http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-40246754 |

It isn't that long ago your mob were burning people alive for the same crime, is it?
Salem witch trials....what sort of nutters believe in that stuff? I know you still believe in exorcising demons from people, Pope Francis sanctioned the practice only last year How bizarre is that? |

Now that you mention it. Where am I wrong? Those things don't or didn't happen in your closed minded universe? Are they still doing exorcisms or not? Do demons exist to your mind? Makes about as much sense to me as what radical Islamists believe in.

By all means engage in historical and hysterical deflection but don't pretend you have legitimate questions that need to be answered regarding the topic at hand - "Islam - Time to push back?".

For the "hell" of it - Demons - Melbourne Football ClubLots of things including the Salem Witch Trials and Spanish Inquisition happened in my widely focussed multiverse. Catholics engage in all sorts of arcane practices. None of those currently involve global terrorism. I'm not sure whether or not it's time to push back against Catholic exorcisms. I don't really care.

Stay tuned for the next episode of;
"MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT" .... BANKSTOWN STYLE! ... but surely it's only rape if he didn't give the parents a goat!? Yep, they contribute so much more to our culture than those bloody Christians!!! Teen ‘kidnapped, raped and married’: Police
A SYDNEY teenager was abducted, raped and forced to marry a Muslim man under sharia law before being driven hundreds of kilometres away from her worried family in a terrifying kidnapping that stretched across NSW, police will allege. The petrified 18-year-old, who cannot be named, claimed Chafic Charyala, 31, showed up at her bedroom window in Bankstown at 2am on Sunday and threatened to kill her unless she went with him. It will be alleged the girl’s family had recently rejected a marriage proposal by the alleged kidnapper. She climbed out of the window and Charyala allegedly drove her to the Novotel hotel in Brighton-Le-Sands. It is there that police allege the girl was sexually assaulted before being taken to a private home in Lakemba in Sydney’s West where a sheik is then claimed to have married the couple under sharia law. Charyala, who is understood to be in Australia on a bridging visa, allegedly wrongly thought the ceremony would help him to get residency, but the marriage is not valid under Australian law. “I just wanted to come back home to my family,” the teenager said. Charyala tried to drive her 900km south to Melbourne to live with his cousin but the teenager managed get a call for help back to her family in Bankstown. Police were notified and began looking for the pair, discovering the man had reached Gundagai in the state’s south near Wagga Wagga. Police found the car on the Hume Hwy, found the girl and arrested Charyala around 9pm on Monday. He was taken to Wagga Wagga police station and charged with sexual assault, indecent assault and kidnapping. Charyala did not apply for bail yesterday at Wagga Wagga Local Court where Magistrate Michael Crompton formally refused it. The matter was adjourned to Bankstown Local Court tomorrow where Charyala will require an Arabic translator. The teenager was taken to hospital in Wagga Wagga in a stable condition and made a detailed statement to police before returning to her family.
