LOLOLOL ... Someone forgot to deduct the 2Y/O allowance from the rating.

A 2 Y/O Group 1 in August in Australia has at least a 12k deduction from the Open G1 basic rating ....     So, from 21 , it is reduced to 9.
A 3 Y/O in August would be reduced by approx 6K .

NO ratings can give a 2 or 3 Y/O ( they are restricted Races )a rating above the Open WFA Scale.

Marsha? Yes flogged Battaash at their previous meeting LOL

One day you people will get this.

Battaash might not ever rate 136 again he may never get within 10 lengths of that rating again, That does not mean under their algorithm he did not do so on the day in question.

Yes, I get this, but thanks for the condescending message, very helpful. My original question which you haven't answered, is how could they possibly rate even his best win that highly? You're telling me beating a horse that has won 1 Group 1 by 4 lengths, hard ridden, is as good a performance as Black Caviar ever gave when destroying horses order of magnitudes better than the horse that ran 2nd in that race by equal or larger margins while being eased down to a canter over the last 100?

Nevermind, I forgot the obvious part of the algorithim that has done it. +6 if the performance happens in Europe, -6 if it happens in Australia.

BC got a mare’s weight allowance. So a 136 for her would equate to a 140 or so for males.

Don’t really know about Bataash, but djebel is correct here in one sense here. Harbinger is an example of a horse that put in a huge career peak (140 in his case) and was the only G1 he ever won. Granted he broke down after that, but his prior performances were nothing like his “peak”. But what a peak it was.

All so SIMPLE.

We don't call our 3 Y/O (restricted)G1 winners ratings up to compare with your Open Company G1 winners.
Like trying to compare a Golden Slipper winner with Winx's Cox Plate .

Basic rating range for a Slipper winner is 18/19
Basic rating range for a Cox Plate winner is 30 males 28 females.

In my learning re Rating, NO MAN born has the right to adjust more than 2K up or down from the basics no matter who the horse is ... Winx or Jesus Chrtrst.    That leads to very false figures and usually very wrong .

last time in WINX rated
1K less than Happy Clapper over 1500m
2.6 K better than Kementari over 1500m
2 K better than Happy Clapper over 2000m.

The Race Battaan is absurdly rated highly in, was a restricted Race ... for 3 Y/Os at that time. 9 months ago .
