This is why I enjoy the forums, so many ways of looking at things?. Really gives a lot of food for thought.

Kathy O Hara will be the deciding factor as to whether the horse is right or not. Everyone still upset?

I’m not sure, but it’s certainly a clever move by Waller to put the onus on her.

More pressure here than on Luke Nolen when riding the Caviar at Ascot, or Bowman on Winx, or Boss on the Diva etc.

This has to be one of the most high pressure trial rides in history!
Remember, it might take intelligence to be smart , but it takes experience to be wise

Not asked for any effort.

D'Argento trialled brilliantly. He is a tip top horse who will not be managed at all well this spring as he will be aimed at "stallion" races rather than what he should be aimed at.

They ran 45.63 seconds so the trial was seriously quick.  Waller would've been more than happy for the mare to run 47.5 tops at this stage of her prep.

No point in sending a supposedly cooked horse out to break records in a 800m trial

Serious horse the winner Invincible Star.

Second trial only fair or is that harsh? Times were solid enough.

Can’t be reading to much into early August trials imo.

Agree. Wasn't a bad trial - certainly not like Aloisia's before she resumed in Feb.

I was a bit surprised she wasn't entered for the Cox Plate. Has better form credentials than many locals in the noms.

Hasn’t she been sold to Japan?

Yes.
Apparently for 'breeding purposes'. Not required until January 1 , for said services however.
I am yet to have heard such a claim from an owner based in the Nthn Hemisphere. Unless , of course , she's in foal now. As January 1 in Japan is our August 1.
Curious , wouldn't you say?

She was sold off ages ago.   When she was  "retired "  from the tracks here ,  Off to japan.   ( but she trialled on Monday  ) Confused she was, supposedly,, off to Japan to breed.

As Bagman infers, she was sold after the NH breeding season had completed, so had to wait until February-March 2019 before being bred to NH time.

Under those circumstances I can fully understand the new owners attempting to give her a preparation in Australia this Spring.

It's curious. She should have been covered , foaled to Sth Hemi time , THEN , cover to Nthn time. Sure the 1 st foal would be sent back (with Japanese Melb Cup entries?) but you wouldn't have missed a beat.
Now she will be set for Cups or Mares races , quarantine , injections etc go North (January) Japan only requires 7 days min for Q, then it's hormone treatment , lights etc etc no cover til , as Second Chance stated , Late February to March -I reckon late- and then 11-12 mths later foal.....
rinse
Repeat
Curious

How about this... I'll ask her former trainer any questions , within reason , you may have and report back to you.
Genuine questions. Doesn't have to be about Single Gaze. In fact , the less about her might be safer for yours truly

Anyone? Genuine offer and Nicks agreed to it.
If the Mayor accepts it , I'm hoping it'll be on the home page. Nom de plumes are fine for questions.
It's a good start for those who may want to know things like ..hours worked , travel , first winner , fave jockey, feeds , spells etc etc
I'm keen to know his feed bill or choice thereof. Does he punt? Why does my trainer charge for dental work every -expletive deleted- months. 😀
Over to you , interview/coffee by Thursday next. 😀

What's the best horse (potentially or otherwise) in his stable?
Which of his can we follow in the next few weeks?

Baggy was here earlier than that - Feb 2007 was the changeover from the old forums, so that's the oldest date here but quite a few current members pre-date that. Baggy was a very precocious child, famous for dummy spits but we forgave him as he was still in the cradle.
