Can they carry a bucket of water ? That was the requirement for consent of the GOD ( Good Old Days )that's where God originated. What a price to pay. E&E won't let me say it , SO they hung themselves these victims. Mini skirts , facial creams , Lip colourings , beauty parlours , cosmetic surgery. I don't want to be seen as a misogynist but fair go Alice. |

Not the "noose" again ? I wasn't aware adultery was a crime, but it must be "out of bounds" in the AFL.

Grand Final Prelude tonight!
Team Swans outstanding against GWS Talent. 22k at Spineless Stadium is an absolute disgrace - 25 k capacity and they are standing room only every session at the Royal Easter Show for the Rodeo Riders!!! Worse when you consider that most of the punters were Swan's fans or freebies (I was offered 6 free tickets and got nothing to do with them!) It's going to be surreal at the GF ... they will probably need to pay seat fillers!

Unlikely Doc. GWS could play Gold Coast and it will still be chockers. It's not a day for true football fans anymore and hasnt been for a long, long time.

Kane Cornes.
Talks about Richmond "getting ahead of themselves", and later St Kilda doing the same thing. Only after the event in both cases you'll note. And could mention some other of his rubbish put-downs but will hold my powder for the while. But now he suggests Dangerfield was and still is a weak bugger. Memo Cornes: thank your lucky stars so many footy followers love a bit of absolute cr@p to make their day, because imo you have absolutely NFI.

He was bang on about Richmond. Essendon proved that Friday night against St Kilda.

Must be Sharia law, I can't find any sanction in the law against adultery.

AFL headquarters sounds like fuddy-duddy heaven, unless these "affairs" resulted in reduced workplace performance, caused them to be side-tracked from their duties on bosses time, etc, it is nobody's business, and a private matter between adults. People are paid to do a job, not to be moral beacons in their lives, unless that is specified in the job description. It is no accident that the wisdom of centuries in our law, has declined to apply legal sanctions against adultery. It was once grounds for divorce, but society wised up to such moralising.

7. “You shall not commit adultery. 10. You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.” |

That isn't formalized in the law of the land here, PT, in some countries adultery is indeed punishable, and harshly so. Pretty good index of backwardness, you'd think. The AFL does appear to have found the "middle ground" !

No, it is just applying standards that society at large has deemed not the province of law. But, if their terms of employment can be interpreted as forbidding such behaviour, they signed up to it.

You have no disagreement from me Dont get the Sharia Law comment though
Catherine Lumby the NRL's adviser on women's affairs thinks the AFL have lost the pot on this one. How many marriages or other unions result from workplace relationships? A fairly high number I would think. Maybe we aren't hearing the whole story in regards these men being stood down. There was no legal complaint from the women involved. Was there a payoff from the AFL though? They have form in that. This story isn't complete, imo

Knew that was a massive danger game for Swans - they need to be 10% better than the home side at the G to overcome the crowd and the umpiring ... the usual collection of soft decisions/ non decisions, but we accept that - makes our flags so much more valuable!
However, you just can't account for having 2 talls injured and struggling, and being down your best 2 players for most of the contest (Rohan late withdrawal, Kennedy a passenger with a hammie) ... 2 goals for Roghie when he was mismatched in the goal square was crucial. Just goes to show that maintaining your best personnel is crucial, particularly when the big games come around, and the Swans were exposed for once with their selections. Still, they are blessed with some of the best off field strategists in the game, and will turn this around quickly. Assuming that none of these injuries are major, still confident that they can finish the home and away with a flourish, but still may need some luck for the top 4 spot. PS: Why do the codes bother with "bunkers" or "reviews", when the clear directive is "DO NOT over rule the referee/umpire decision" ... (see Mellikan rushed behind - on replay he clearly punched the ball, but credited as a Hawthorn goal off the boot ... ooops!)

Endeavour was fine. Can't say the same for their grey matter. 20 seconds left and you vacate the corridor on a stoppage and allow one of the easiest plays imaginable. I can't even fathom what was (or wasn't) going in in their heads. Astonishing.

In retrospect have to agree Judge.
Mind you there's about 17 people in the Saints coaching box (and I'm not joking), and five on-field leaders - all of whom have a responsibility to direct traffic throughout and most particularly in the clutch. So 23 people at a bare minimum screwed up big time. ps don't follow either team so have no axe to grind. Just can't cop the lack of professionalism. |

Collingwood pays yet again for a chronic inability to use the ball well, particularly towards its forwards. While the Crows to their credit come from 38 points down at the half to draw level.
Be interested to see the Judge's take on the game.

And while I'm here, Dermott (I've lived off footy for twenty-odd years since retirement without offering more than a scintilla of real insight) Brereton put the Hawks narrow win over the Swans to some kind of tactical brilliance from coach Clarkson.
Presumably the fact that the Swans were effectively down to 19 players for much of the match wasn't a factor in its six points loss.
