Also the only player that has been drafted in the last 20 years in the top 20, from their academy zone (who would have been eligible), prior to the GWS Academy's introduction in 2011 was Justin Koschitzke.

Geez Arjen, lighten up Ermm

Anyway, Dusty certainly showed all those skills he learned from one senior game in the Sydney AFL, tonight!

Gotta say, the Cats were under the pump from the outset, playing a half fit Joel Selwood, and then losing Cam Guthrie before half time - between him and Scott Selwood, they had been doing a great job on the Sydney boy.

Once again, injuries make the difference - one and a half midfield rotations down for half a game, and Geelong were simply gassed come the final quarter, and Richmond were able to do as they pleased through the middle.

Richmond didn't really impress me that much, struggled to get a lead until that final quarter, when they really dominated the game. Then it was just some cheap goals in junk time, when the game was well and truly done and dusted that gave their fans so much to cheer about - they are playing well, but they are definitely in the soft side of the draw.

Swans should win tomorrow, and then be too good for the Cats (but in a close one) ... the real GF will be in Adelaide the week after.
In reference to every post in the Trump thread ... "There may have been a tiny bit of license taken there" ... Ok, Thanks for the "heads up" PT!

Longmire out coached, Swans out played, didn't get the "technical" free kicks when they needed them early, wouldn't have mattered anyway ... not a good time for everything to go bad at once!Ouch

You can dig yourself out of a hole (0-6) for so long before it catches up with you and it caught up Swans big time tonight. Of more concern were some repeat offenders for the Swans who quite frankly get stage fright. Reid, Cunningham and particularly Rohan, who had one possession to three quarter time, following on from his two "worst on ground" in Grand Finals. Blokes an absolute liability in these sorts of games. Really need to shed some of these blokes, but you won't get much for them.

Out played in the midfield, even though Dangerfield played forward ... Hanners, Parker, and Kennedy in particular were all well beaten ... Longmire out coached ... they were STILL, bombing aimlessly to Buddy, who was double teamed, late in the last quarter ... wtf, was the coach even watching the game?Confused

It is a concern when the Sydney-hating commentators are questioning the "technicality" of free kicks against the Swans, but, Geelong took advantage and too good all over the park in the end ... as I said last week, there were mitigating circumstance which contributed to the Cats' loss to the Tigers, and I expected this to be close ... they will challenge Adelaide next week, and the winner is flag favourite ... oh well, India v Australia ODI series starts tomorrow!Wink

He may have been out coached slightly, I don't think so. It was one of those nights where Sydney were going to lose no matter what coaching moves were made, they were off by 5% and Geelong was playing at 100%

Coaches can only do so much, maybe the pressure Sydney put themselves under early, having to win nearly every game finally caught up with them.  There has never been a season with so many upsets

Agree with all of that contributing, but Scott changed things, particularly with Dangerfield going forward (and playing a blinder - yes he is a gun!), playing the loose player in defence, and playing a disciplined possession game - Swans have dominated Cats of late, but Longmire could't respond with a tactic that worked.Ouch

Sydney would have to be looking at trade offers for Rohan. Not sure what currency he would have though.

so your argument is everyone who has played in a premiership is a better player than Dangerfield Wacko

you do realise that a premiership side depends on 24 players, 1 man cannot win it by himself LOL

sad the pathetic ,ridiculous arguments you put up to "prove " a point

It is a pattern with Rohan though. I am not suggesting that they will give him away for nothing but surely he will be on the table and if the right offer comes then he will be gone. What would you want for him, if it was a draft pick?

*He is signed until 2020 so whatever money he is on will affect his trade price to some degree but for the sake of argument we will assume he is on a reasonable amount.

Rohan had one possession to three quarter time. 6 in total, with 5 turnovers. Ouch. You can forgive anyone a bad game but when it comes to big games on the G he's a repeat offender. Boy has no heart. Trade him, preferrably to someone who won't be playing finals.

You make the point that you are not getting much for him, I'd keep him. He has never been a huge possession gatherer, and as I said earlier, every Swan was beaten on the night, do you trade them all?Confused ... the Swans do lose a final every year you know - except the years they win the flagWink.

Just a forgettable game, and shows how important that top 4 spot is ... and it is the top 4 who remain in the prelims again!

What an embarrassment GWS are to the Sydney Sporting landscape!

Cant wait to hear the crowd figure lie!!!!Embarrassed

I was offered freebies from several different sources, right up until 6:00 pm tonight!

It's a shame, Spotless is actually a fantastic "little" stadium to view any event - I've watched a lot of junior reps there ... it's a little Colosseum, you are right up close and perched above ground level.

Forget the issued tickets, I would be surprised if there were more than 8,000 people there tonight ... that's just tragic, and a sad indictment of what the organisation has done to generate support at ground level in the Western Sydney Community ...Dead

Just shows the expansion teams are a joke, both have been topped up by the AFL since day 1 and even if GWS was to make the grand final no one in Sydney's west would give two hoots
