Collingwood will be running a huge risk if they focus too much on Greene, and trying to go at him, because GWS will run rampant.
They have some serious runners in the GWS side, and if Collingwood waste energy, GWS are going to run all over them. By the way, I think bet of the year, if this game to finish under 175.5 points, odds $1.25. GWS didnt let Sydney score, and there is some serious dirty weather coming at Melbourne. Under 160 points, odds $1.65 go to unibet for more totals options.

Pointless fact from Bruce McAvaney
The last time Collingwood beat Richmond in a final was 4/9/37 Jack Dyer played game 100, Coventry booted 6. Dawn Fraser was also born that day Thanks Bruce, I’ll sleep so much better tonight |

I am no McAvaney fan but it was an interesting fact. Cox is a giant but surprisingly quick. Leads very well, sometimes leads, doubles back and leads again, that is why he is so hard to curtail when he is on.

Well if they follow the same script as the last 2 years- team with very long record of losing wins fairytale GF, then Melbourne are the premiers in 2018.

'Pies are a big chance next week - never hurts to have a big Cox!
Like to see Melbourne hold last weeks form for 2 more games. Wonder if Collingwood peaked in the first half last night?

Collingwoods handballing is elite.
If Eagles stop de gooooey, and cox, eagles win. Pies have a real workman like style at the moment. Much the same as Tiges last year. Eagles so good in the air, plenty can take big marks. Its an interesting grand final, and both teams can tackle well. Pies tackling then handballs out of clearances, has been off the map. Im expecting this to be a close grand final, simply because eagles have heaps of scoring power, and pies will bring the intensity. Many grannies are a blowout, but I expect this one to go right down to the wire.

Well if it’s any cause for optimism, the only decent final in this whole dud series was the first encounter between these two teams. Hoping for, rather than expecting, a cracker.

Eddie might be a lot of things, some not brilliant, but smug is the very last word anyone with a clear mind would accuse him of being.
Passionate people are never ever smug, irrespective of their sporting allegiance or field of endeavour.

Brilliant exhibition of the best game on the biggest day of the year.
Result could not be better, Collingwood boots Richmond last week then loses GF by less than a goal, beautiful Two weeks, two mobs of feral supporters shattered

You gotta laugh at the Collingwood banner just evaporating into thin air.
Eagles were too good. They were bigger bodied and stronger. Better at marking. Also more skilled. The scoreboard didnt say it, but they dominated after quarter time. They out muscled Collingwood all over the ground. People also underestimate how much harder it is for both the Perth teams. They travel so much further all year than anyone else. For a club that was self inflicted, self destructing on harmful drugs, then lost the grand final in 2015, it was a massive win for the club and thoroughly deserved.

That game should be a template for guts and determination.
And how to tackle! If Adam Simpson hadnt just won a GF, would be the poster boy for flower power and family.

Ricciardo celebrates Eagles winTHERE was a rude fart and a ripping dance solo — but the best moment of the Eagles’ grand final celebrations saw the players channel the Japanese. Japan fans won the hearts of viewers all over the globe when they were pictured cleaning up the stadium following their match against Colombia at the World Cup. Well, West Coast did it too. Norm Smith medallist Luke Shuey held an Esky as a host of his teammates — including Thomas Cole, Chris Masten, Mark LeCras and William Rioli — picked up beer bottles and other rubbish inside the team’s changerooms at the MCG after their five-point win against Collingwood. When you may have expected them to be running rampant, the Eagles showed their class and — not for the first time on Saturday — earned the respect of the footy world. I ACTUALLY watched the GF & thoroughly enjoyed it. Collingwood shut up shop at quarter time - big mistake. Felt a bit for them though - just seemed the longer the game went the more their big men stepped up taking clean marks. Anyhow - amazing how a close match makes any game more enjoyable. Refer NRL GF - bore fest !
