Dunno where you find a burger and shake for $10 these days. I saw a burger the other day ,,$18. Talk about highway robbery. Ned Kelly got hanged for that stuff.

No gourmet burgers AA. The suggestion is that you eat at a dump like Burger King and contribute further to the obesity crisis. Also any suggestion that you spend the $10 as soon as you get it every week is typically Labour. No point saving it for a rainy day.

That is why trickle down is a lie. Low income people with very little discretionary income, spend and actually stimulate the economy.

Trickle down economics works like one of those stipid 'which cup fills first' things on Facebook with those at the bottom of the economic chain represented by the cup at the bottom that's got the drain going into it blocked. |

Don't lump us all together. Plenty of low income people also know how to budget and save. And plenty of people of better incomes spend spend spend.

Too true Furious. My parents never had much to spare with four kids but managed their incomes well to make them go as far as possible. We very rarely ate take away or restaurant food let alone had a treat like an icecream or a visit to the pictures. Trickle down does work when companies invest more in their businesses, creating new jobs which results in less people on the dole queue. A double win for society in general.

Says a lot for your moral compass CNNPT, that you're supporting fraud and the lowest form of life - the guy who bald faced lies about serving his country, and then shamelessly marches, wearing the medals he bought, to complete the fraud with pride - he'll be moving they say -should fit in well with all the other impostors up Brunswick Heads way on ANZAC Day!

Not if there are no businesses to employ them ... have you asked the American Citizens about tax cuts for business? ... it damn near ruined the country ... they can't recall such impressive employment figures, or economic growth ...

Really? If unemployment is really 3.9%, why aren't wages rising? Wages were below trend again last month as the raw unemployment figure dropped. Supply and demand in the labor market suggests wages should be rising. Someone is telling porkies,

Afros, since we have just witnessed the greatest example of the benefits of "trickle down economics" by virtue of the actions of the "Nobel Peace Prize Winner in Waiting" with the US economy ... AND YOU MISSED IT BECAUSE YOU HAD YOUR BROWN NOSE IN THE WRONG PLACE ... my advice to you is; 1. Don't stress if you can't work out the "brain teasers" on facebook ... you are clearly missing the prerequisite organ that they aim to "tease". 2. Don't talk about things you clearly don't understand. 3. Don't parrot things you think CNNPT does understand, since he will mislead you. 4 Don't be like whale. 5. If you want to be a better person, listen to, and study, and be like Trump.

Yeah, it may have worked in the US 3b's, and it we may have even seen the benefits here, with INCREASED TAX RECEIPTS EVERY TIME WE HAVE CUT CORPORATE TAX RATES ... but what about CNNPT's position, that we should just ignore all of the evidence, because the Socialists have decided it is now BAD ... although they (notably Paul keating and Bullgelati Bill himself) have been big fans in the past! ... and what of CNNPT's greatest friends, the unemployable, leftwing, inner city, victim class, virtue signaling, Marxist, picket line professionals who have been complaining because they cant afford to pay their rent, and make new Anti Adani placards, with only their pitiful New Start Allowance to live on ... surely they deserve more of a handout! How will tax cuts to business ever help those bludging bastards? BTW, a family of four will be able to "feast" at least once a week under Bullgelati Bill! A shame that they will just never be able to afford to heat their homes in winter ...

It's pretty simple why he will be a Two Term POTUS.
He knows exactly who put him in power and why, and he respects them, and delivers on his promises to them. Likewise, he treats the hand wringing bedwetters, who will never vote for him anyway, with contempt ... he doesn't ask permission to change their nappies either!. |

The LNP war on worker safety that started the Royal commission just lost one of it's most dishonest arguments justifying their actions.
Blackmail charges against CFMEU bosses John Setka, Shaun Reardon droppedBy Karen Percy and staff Updated yesterday at 5:33pm Blackmail charges brought against construction union bosses John Setka and Shaun Reardon have been dropped by Victorian prosecutors. Key points:
They told a hearing in the Melbourne's Magistrates' Court that "after consideration of the facts, we have been advised to withdraw". The charges related to allegations the pair from the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) had spoken to executives at Boral about not supplying concrete to Melbourne worksites run by construction giant Grocon. When told the prosecution intended to withdraw the blackmail charges, Magistrate Charles Rozencwajg said: "I think it's a very sensible decision". Mr Setka, the union's Victorian secretary, and state assistant secretary Mr Reardon were charged in 2015 after a police taskforce examined allegations arising from the Royal Commission into Trade Union Governance and Corruption. The prosecution had alleged the blackmail took place during a meeting between Mr Setka, Mr Reardon and Boral executives Paul Dalton and Peter Head in Melbourne in April 2013, when the CFMEU was waging an industrial campaign against Grocon. Prosecutors alleged Mr Setka told Boral managers the CFMEU was "at war" with Grocon and wanted to cut off its concrete supply. The managers were allegedly warned that if they did not cooperate, the CFMEU would target Boral with union action. Speaking outside court Mr Setka said he and Mr Reardon had been the victim of a "witch hunt".
"That all came out in time. We'll be saying a lot more about this in the coming days." Boral said it would not comment on the decision. Tasmanian senator Eric Abetz, who was workplace relations minister at the time, denied the conspiracy accusations. "John Sekta has a history of making very inflammatory statements and it's not worth responding to them," Senator Abetz said.
Federal Opposition seized upon the decision to reignite debate over the merits of the trade union royal commission. Deputy Labor leader Tanya Plibersek said the Coalition's conduct was clear. "We've said from the beginning that the trade union royal commission is a politically motivated witch hunt," Ms Plibersek said. "They were so keen to do the trade union royal commission, hoping that it would take some paint off their political opponents. "This is the Government that insisted that royal commission was more important than the banking royal commission." CFMEU 'most notorious union in Australia': CashThe Federal Government defended the Royal Commission's recommendation of the charges. Jobs Minister Michaelia Cash — who has routinely referenced Mr Setka and Mr Reardon's alleged conduct in Federal Parliament — said the decision to drop charges was a matter for the Victorian Police. "If you want to stand here and ask questions about justification of the CFMEU's behaviour, I think you'd be sadly misguided," she said.
Senator Cash argued the recommendations went further than calling for criminal investigations to be launched, and the Turnbull Government had implemented its findings through decisions such as restoring the Australian Building and Construction Commission (ABCC). Speaking outside court, high-profile lawyer Peter Gordon, who represented the pair, said the decision to drop the charges ended a "dark chapter" in Australia's political and union history. He said Boral's credibility had been "shredded" during the court process. "What we do know is that gross and unlawful distortion took place, and that's the only way in which these charges could have ever been brought," Mr Gordon said. |

Look Dr E everything in the land of the worker is not fine. Pay rises are pretty well haven't happened for years. It's fine for the oldsters who have paid off their homes but the young ones haven't got that safety net. Bill's are not going down and unfortunately - as you showed above - cheap food is very unhealthy food. Fair enough that fruit and veg aren't cheap when we are in a drought and costs are high for our farmers also. But even once a week with the above meal isn't a good deal in the long term.
You can feed a family of four for less that the $20 dollars that would cost anyway. People don't have $20 a meal available to them. Make it more like $5 or less and you can get an idea. They can choose to eat or get to work and pay the bills. Sometimes both don't go together. Now all my children living away from home aren't on budgets. One is doing very well thanks to her husbands family business. One is by herself and just scraps by. Just out of hospital from an operations (the week of car registration and insurance) and she has the grand sum of $5 in the bank till her next pay. Another daughter is faced with part time work and an ill husband who is down to three days a week work - and even then he sometimes can't do it. The chances of him working for another two of three years is slim I think as the disease is progressing fast and making life difficult. They get by with out help. T The other daughter is also down to four days work as the quota wasn't being met in sales. For her it's not so bad as she has been doing a course to try and get extra work with her art. Her partner also works extreme hours I mean sometimes 11 hour days - and then travel from the city to Waitara where they rent close to Michelle's work. Now how long can you do this for and expect to stay in good health. But it is what his industry expect. No extra pay for the extra hours - unless you have to work over the weekend. But that is probably why he has to put in the long days to avoid weekend payments. So all is not well for the working young. Yes I haven't had a pay rise from one boss for years. I got one from the other so that was a surprise. But I don't have a mortgage to pay off now. And the two still living at home - one is a tour guide and gets work when work comes in. So shes down to one or two tours a week now the season has ended. You can't keep yourself afloat when the money coming in is so variable. Yes there are some bad unions but I've also seen the other side where the union is trying to do the best for both the worker and the boss. Isn't it better to have a happy workforce who will do the very best to keep your business going strong! |

Don't be confused furious, I live in the land of the worker too! ... we have four twenty something kids, two at home, two of them were also struggling artists working bars and bottlos and other jobs they hated, so I know the struggle well ... and it's just as tough in Bankstown, PLUS we have to deal with the Radical Islamic Terrorists too.
PT is just having a laugh when he makes those comments about that convicted criminal - he knows all about the guy and how he represents the Union movement of today - he was on video last year threatening people who might stand against the unions' lawlessness with the old "we know where you live" ... pleeez, give it up PT!!! Has anyone questioned why the two witnesses have suddenly and mysteriously "lost" their notes that were the evidence that would put this known stand-over man away, on the eve of the trial? ... really? ... I wonder if someone figured out where they lived!!??? Just ask Bob Hawke, and Paul Keating about these thugs ... the ones who are making all the money have never worked an honest day in their lives! Bob Hawke call: cut ALP ties with CFMEUBob Hawke has called on the Labor Party and the ACTU to consider cutting ties with the scandal-plagued Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union, while Paul Keating has warned that trade union influence inside the party must be reduced. The two former Labor prime ministers, who forged a historic partnership with unions to transform the economy a generation ago, have told The Australian they are appalled by the evidence of systemic union corruption, and urged union leaders to refocus on the national economic interest. Mr Hawke, who as prime minister deregistered the rogue Builders Labourers Federation in 1986, said Labor and the ACTU must embrace reforms to improve union governance and transparency. “The unions need to clean up their act and get their house in order,” Mr Hawke said. “It just is appalling. I mean, I wouldn’t tolerate it. You know what I did with the Builders Labourers Federation — I would throw them out.” Asked if the CFMEU should still be affiliated to the ACTU and Labor, Mr Hawke, who was ACTU president throughout the 1970s, said: “Well, I would be very happy for them not to be at this stage.” BUT WHY NO PAY RISES? The economic reasons that mean that we are not seeing pay increases (unless you are a public servant of course, and you have a militant union pushing on your behalf!) are quite clear, but very poorly reported. Businesses would love to share their profits ... all successful businesses have happy workers ... however, in the current climate of uncertainty, they simply cand depend on the current good economic conditions being sustainable into the future. It's one thing to give a pay rise, but just try imposing a pay cut when things are bad. The unions would never stand for that, but the people who put their balls on the line and take all the risks, the business owners, just have to cop it. So why the uncertainty? The ALP. The ALP/Green Collusion have ensured that we will never have cheap power again - 50% renewable targets are just economic terrorism. Businesses are going broke NOW trying to pay their ever growing power bills. Likewise, the ALP have vowed to never give big business a break - you know the people who employ most workers - so good luck trying to compete for business when you are charged with much higher tax rates than your overseas competitors pay. Funnily enough, Paul Keating was a fan of lowering corporate tax, did it, and reaped the reward of increased tax revenue when he did it! Even Bullgelati Bill himself was an advocate of lower business taxes ... until he saw some cheap political points in opposing it! Those two factors alone are eating up the pay rises. Maybe a Corporate tax cut and some Coal fired Power Stations ... just like Trump did in the USA ... will see some stability for employers, some better profits, and the ability to share it with employees ... like they have in the USA ... don't listen to PT, the US is enjoying some of their best economic conditions ever - booming economy and share market, lowest unemployment in nearly 20 years, business confidence, better wage conditions, bonus payments - and it is all due to the Trump phenomenon - and don't the Socialists hate it!!! Bullgelati Bill is just going to keep on giving jobs and pay rises to public servants, building bigger unsustainable bureaucracies, and making it impossible for businesses to make enough money to cover costs, let alone increase wages ... does anyone REALLY think THAT is sustainable? If we do not resist the ALP, we will be bankrupt in no time.

came across this passage, in a piece from The Australian. no truer words have been spoken. those that go on about how wonderful china is, need to remember, they take australian jobs, with a work force that works on a very low wage, leave their kids to work in the cities and see their kids, once a year, etc
a report today says the footy teams going to china are taking their own food supply as chinese food cant be guaranteed for quality, drugs etc the playing field with china is very uneven. "Mahathir joined the ruling United Malays National Organisation, in which teachers and doctors held very esteemed roles. But in 1969 he wrote a trenchant little book, The Malay Dilemma, in which he railed against the racial hierarchy as he saw it but also told his fellow Malays, in remarkably blunt language, that they needed to pull their socks up, stop lying around, start working harder, get a job, get some purpose and make their destinies with their own brains and their own labour." |

As I said furious, our 2 biggest problems relate to the cost of doing business. High cost of energy and high corporate tax rate. If we use our own resources to build affordable energy options, we not only reduce those costs, but create more jobs. Reduce corporate tax rates, and even more money can filter through to the workers. Or, we can go down the ALP/Greens Socialist path ... like Venezuela ... where they raid the zoos so they can have fresh meat

how so are we becoming more like america? last time i looked most stuff you are buying today is made in china, soooo wouldnt that mean they have the jobs? i can think of two things, made in america, a washing machine and lip balm, i have bought in last ten years. now, isnt it jobs we want for our kids? a nice start would be manufacturing, but businesses go off shore, where its cheapest to manufacture. and then flogged back to you for a nice profit, or as returns on your super portfolio. simplified, i know, but its a start. you wouldnt want to have shares in a cigarette company, but what of companies with made in chinese stickered on them? i see a report today where the unions are warning bhp to manufacture steel here, to protect or jobs. and then the chinese get offended when we stand up to them. i suppose we ahve a nice, safe product, worth fighting, influencing for. the change of government in Malaysia will be interesting for our foreign affairs, will give australia a broader base to deal with. belt and rail bu****it.

Look Australia was quite forward in how it treated it's workforce. When we set up as a country there were more protections in place than anywhere else in the world. Maybe because alot of the criminals sent here where criminals from poverty etc. I don't know but that has changed.
By more like America I mean we are creeping towards the haves and havenots where you can be working yet below the poverty line. That's how the trailer camps in the USA are filled with people holding down jobs but not earning enough to support themselves and their families. Look we had to pick up our grandaughter yesterday and talked for a bit with our sick son in law. He's really scared and holding on by the skin of his teeth. Illness has no stop gap in Australia. He has been applying for help as they need it but the help offered doesn't make sense. Ok he need physiotheropy on his left side which isn't working well at the moment but to get the right sort he has to travel from Windsor to Lidcome. What about setting out clinics in different areas to help people instead of making them travel when the illness means travel exhausts them! It's like the people in charge really don't know the effects this has on the people they are supporting. He gets $95 a fortnight in travel support as he has to catch three trains just to get to work as he can no longer safely drive that distance. But is set to loose that as he has to drive the 1 kilometer to the station! His wife is trying to support allowance as she only works 14 hours a week but they then take into account travel time for her to get to work as time away from him. They are bleeding as his salary has gone down by over 1/2 and she can't work full time as he needs her and they can't put there daughter in childcare it he's sick and she's working. Its around and around and around. That is stress and stress brings on episodes! The counceller is keeping his sane but he has to fit everything in and there is not enough hours when he has the energy to get to the places he has to go.
