No talk about this guy? Won at $20's and $35's this prep already. Yesterday's Black Opal win was huge from (15), wide all the way and still kicked clear of horses that were supposed to be Slipper fancies. Not sure where we see him next - is there another 2yo race on Slipper day (?) then the Sires?

Seems the owner is happy to part with $150k as a late entry. I'm on @ $51 with the help of a Sportsbet boost.

They’d never advertise it because of his upcoming stallion career, but I’m fairly sure he was unwanted at the yearling sales because he didn’t have great x-rays.
Shows what a joke and waste of money yearling x-rays are.

I have a theory that perhaps good X-rays may be a mark of a lazy young horse as they’ve clearly not bothered putting themselves under pressure, and vice versa.

C'mon he's only three but as with any potential sire prospect winning against genuine wfa performers, that'll be right. No sooner are we treated to their full potential then it's sayonara. Although I hope not. He is beautifully bred, no doubt about it.

He's a dangerous one to keep racing, like a lot of Geralds he loses his form a lot. Can be costly to a reputation for a colt.

It is all about money.

There is a race called the Everest which he would be suited to first up.

I agree that he is a strange galloper, but have seen three year olds do that in some seasons.

His two group ones were high class, topline performances, and I would love to see him at Randwick in October, but not holding my breath.
Remember, it might take intelligence to be smart , but it takes experience to be wise

I finally realise why it is a good reason to have a race like the Everest - it could slow down the rush of young horses to the breeding barns.

Yeah, if it works with Trapeze Artist it should work for others as well, because A) He'd be worth a lot right now and B) He's incredibly inconsistent so if its enough to lure him when hes like a 50/50 chance of showing up on the day imagine how likely you'd be go stick around if your horse was a good chance of turning up on the day.

Wouldn’t be worth much at stud imo. We have too many stallions, too many yearlings that are overpriced and overrated.
The breeding industry needs a giant cull.
Start with getting rid of all yearling sales.

We barely have enough horses to cater for what racing we have now.

We need about 1000 more stallions.

I struggle to catch Trapeze Artist on the punt but when he wins he looks like a superstar, not at all convinced he can back up and win All Age, I think Brave Smash maybe the one this Saturday.

Think he's the winner (by default) but the price is poison imo. Has never won 2 on the trot. 1200/1400/1600 back to 1200 now out again to 1400 and they want you to take 5/4.

You're game if you back TA at 5/4.Tongue It will be interesting to see if he can make a start on BC and Winx's record- top race the All Aged this year.

Watch his wins vs his losses

Finds cover - wins
No cover - loses

It may not be that simple, but there has been a trend. And Tim Clarke I think it was made that point very clear about him a couple of starts back. I will be watching very closely for this purely to satisfy my own curiosity.

The TJ wasn't even his main aim, this race was, which is scary for every other runner if he can go close to replicating last start.

I've never been able to catch him either and you're brave taking close to evens, but evens could look good value too if he runs near his best because he will gap them if that's the case.
