Hit the line just nicely in the previous at Randwick.
Although just behind the placings he looks on track for the big one at Flemington, a race he ran 4th in last year.

I think last year was his year for one of the big Cups.

You wouldn’t think he’d turn the tables on AVILIUS in the Metropolitan Hcp but definitely could go back to back in the AJC St Leger. That might be his best opportunity for a win this Spring.

You might be right Lord, but that run today was awesome.

This form will be underestimated come Melbourne Cup time, but Avilius, Libran and Big Duke are all top six contenders for the big one at Flemington then you add I Am Serious and Brimham Rocks who are in form and Patrick Erin who is an old fashioned NZ stayer, and this will be a great form reference.

I don’t know if he is a winning chance, but I think he is going as good as he was last year.

Abrupt drop out down the side, thought he might have broken down.

Hopefully Australian Bloodstock and partners will now retire the 8yo.

Certainly owes connections nothing.   Super career, winning in 3 different states & a few G1 placings to boot.

Realistically he’s well past being a challenger for major Spring Cups, but if yesterday’s episode wasn’t anything too serious, something like the Sandown Classic would be a good target.

He's ok! They've reported today his heart rate is normal and he's bright as usual.

But surely a warning sign to retire this gallant gentleman - he's certainly earnt it.

He’d make a beautiful show horse.
Got that bit of charisma about him.

I see this old warrior has been officially retired in the last week.

He deserves a call out after a really good racing career, winning in 3 different states, a few G1 placings & a 4th in the 2017 Melbourne Cup.

2017 was his peak with wins:

2017 Launceston Cup 2400m
2017 NE Manion Cup 2400m
2017 ATC Chairmans Hcp 2600m
2017 ATC St Leger Stks 2600m

Enjoy retirement Clap

He was great representative for his connections.

Just on a potential replacement the Australian Bloodstock boys have purchased a European 2yo which they are bringing out to run next year, to be trained by Kris Lees, (so it looks like the Russian Camelot effect is taking place).

If you think you might be interested you can go onto you tube and see him run. The horses name is Elected. The run on you tube is from Lingfield on the 19th of June.

Surely you mean 12 months late?

He had a great year in 2019 with placings in heaps of big races like the Manion Cup, Tancred Stakes & Brisbane Cup.

It really wasn’t until his injury in the 2019 Caulfield Cup that retirement would have been contemplated.

Ok, memory isn't my strongest suit Foxseal.

Make that should have been retired after his second significant injury about 12 months ago.  Embarrassed
