A quick bit of research shows  Avenatti had  a $5,000,000 tax lien placed on him by the IRS last year and another $60,000 by King County. Issues relating to Tullly's Coffee dodging dealings. Sounds like his modus operandi in business is similar to someone he's suing. Filed for bankruptcy in 2007 over non payments by his firm to subcontractor investigators.

Cohen is taking it seriously, his lawyer filed today to keep Avanatti excluded from the SDNY case based partly on $23k of $4.4m of his stated amounts being incorrect. The rest has been confirmed

Any evidence? I am sure that judge Wood will order disclosure of Avenatti's sources. I cannot imagine him making such a legal misstep at this stage after smashing Cohen and Trump's legal teams for months now.

The fact that he had the wrong Cohen for that 23k suggests his firm or the people he got it from was accessing records, rather than accessing Cohen's bank records or SARs, where the information would have been accurate. Sounds like good detective work.

BTW, I dont think Treasury getting involved is not good news for Cohen.Shocked
