nope. just in the context of russia and usa interference in other countries politics...this russian interference is barely worth mentioning. its a pimple on the arse of american interference and actual "war " on other countries, if those countries so hapoened to vote for the wrong guy. |

That is a very broad mandate, and I dont see any areas that Mueller seems to be investigating that doesn't come under that brief. Manafort she says is a bit player in this. I disagree and have said from the start that he is a very central player and as the person enlisted to enable access to Trump by his handlers with his history of being a political 'fixer' in Ukraine and many other tough places, but principally Ukraine The investigation into Trump's and Kushner's financial dealings with Russian oligarchs and bankers is central to their motivation and to the leverage Russians may have had to get them onboard. That doesn't even to begin to cover the areas that were covered in coordinating the targeted cyber attacks that weaponised the fake information used to target those swing states. Kushner's and Cambridge's claims that they ''won'' the election for Trump makes them and their financiers the Mercers(also then and now Bannon's open cheque backer) central in that coordination. This is a huge multi national investigation that will go on for years, and along the way take down a lot of people who acted illegally in trying to rig an election for Russia Trump, as I have always said was initially unwitting but so heavily compromised that Kushner, the point of first contact by the Russian financiers(funny how his first contact on winning was a Russian bank) got him elected, but then Trump, as Nixon did became involved in the cover up that brought him down eventually The obstruction case is solid and leverage to get Trump to spill to save himself

Also she seems to not be a fan of Weissman and reading her piece you might be forgiven for thinking he is the only investigator. He is one of 18 and brought in specifically to 'flip' witnesses, which is what, as she points out, he did in the Enron case. It is much bigger than Weissman, but I think he is there to influence Manafort and Kushner to turn

He is playing games. He wants to create a narrative that there were FBI and CIA ''issues'' involved in the investigation before doing it(or not). His appointed CIA director Mike Pompeo has been furiously trying to convince him not to, presumably due to the sensitive operational information that made Oswald ''the one'' despite inconclusive and highly circumstantial evidence. The subsequent killing of Oswald by Ruby is another cloudy matter not entirely implausible in the heightened cold war environment. Trump doesn't need to release them, just have the agencies implore him not to, in order to place a cloud over the way they do things in those intelligence agencies. Fast forward to Trump/Russia investigation and place that same cloud over it suggesting business is still conducted the same way and that he is Oswald now.

I don't know about him wanting to look like the new Oswald, but my suspicious mind immediately jumped to thinking he would say his desire to open the files was thwarted by the intelligence apparatus. A genuine intent to expose the files would only have been made public after having the idea cleared first.

Oswald apparently visited the russian and cuban embassy in mexico to get a visa so he could go to russia. the CIA had surveillance on those embassies, it might show what they knew about oswalds trip to mexico and his intentions thereafter.
it might reveal more on what hunt apparently told his two sons...that it was a rogue cia inside job. interestingly...only 1% of all the jfk files on the assasination are left in secret. everything else is already out in the public domain. |

Why would anyone want to see more about a well documented happening 54 years ago. ? I remember it well . I woke up in a bed in Orange NSW ( where I shouldn't have been) and heard the terrible news . The world loved Kennedy at that time, but that changed when they found out he was doing in earlier years, what I was doing when his demise news came through. A lot of FBI and CIA stuff is thought to include a lot of stuff related to failings and errors on their parts, as well as details of operations they would rather not be known, lest it compromise the security of people and tactics used to gather and assess information. There are thousands of redacted files that have partially released whose hidden details will be released. There are other files relating to political motivation and cources of action that could ''embarrass'' people still living. A plethora of reasons maxie.
Trump's close friend Roger Stone has been lobbying to get them released including private conversations with Trump recently(Stone says) He has written 3 books on the Kennedy assassination and the publicity around and the release would be beneficial to him. A 4th book wouldn't be far away
