Good concise article Shammy. An interesting comment below where a Yank(presumably) commenting on how he has found more Australians than Kiwis being aware of this history. The Coral Sea as well as many other SE Asian, Pacific events and spheres(Kokoda, Changi, Darwin, New Guines etc) were taught in primary school when I attended in the 1960's. Not sure if it is still taught now. Maybe more emphasis on WW1 in Europe now?
Amazing the advancement in hardware in such a short period of time from those cruiser style carriers with their limited radar and intelligence gathering capabilities and the smaller size and firepower compared to today's mega sized carriers(3 times displacement for Carl Vinson eg) and amphibious strike groups. Imagine 2 strike groups confronting 2 more today, the devastation that would follow and in a very short period of time.

It was widely reported last year that Tillerson, Mattis and Mnuchin had a pact that if any either resigned or was sacked the other two would follow him out.

Friend of mine recently got back from America, and she said its a revolution in America.
She estimated 90 out of 100 people support Trump. What she equally found interesting, was talking to people that voted Hillary, or supported Sanders, have jumped fence and now strongly support Trump. She was totally shocked. She said the best way to describe the wave of support for Trump, is a Revolution.

He isnt a President. He is a King. He is certainly in the top 5 leaders in world history. Kim Jong Un will mow Trumps grass on his golf courses one day. The thing is, Trump is running rings around normal politicians, because they cant keep up with his business savvy. the world is a business, and Trump is just dominating them. |
