Hey Shammy, why wouldn't Mike Pence shake hands with Kimmy's sister Kim Yo-jong yesterday?

She sat right behind him, and then at the dinner later that he snubbed, but still visited, he shook hands with everyone but her again it is reported Was it because she is Kimmy's sister and he had some petty cold war bullsh*t going on, or because she is a woman. He did have mother next to him to keep his animal urges in check, so it wouldn't have been that. The Japanese PM Abe and South Korean President Moon shook hands with her and engaged with her at the dinner.

What is going on with the US and Pence? He looks like he has eaten something very unpleasant. Asians getting along famously telling the yanks, thanks for coming but we have it from here.
US Vice-President Pence (R) was seated near Kim Jong-uns sister Kim Yo-jong (L) at the opening ceremony

A lot of trouble gone to to keep this fellow, but as soon as the game was up with the pictures of his ex wife with bruised face, both Trump and Kelly tipped the can over him. No honesty anywhere in the whole process.

I am sure your Fox News will blame Hillary or Obama though, or simply not report it
I have to admire your methods. You can make allegations in to crimes instantly. Or a quote into a dissertation. An instance or moment into a lifetime. Gossip and innuendo become fact. Unnamed sources are credible. Assumption is reality. Denials are inconsequential. Facts are irrelevant. I bet you wear ruby red shoes and click your heels before coffee and breakfast.

Rob Porter's story is headlines today and assuredly as you will live your anti-Trump obsession tomorrow, the headlines will move to something else. Kelly will still be Chief of Staff and Trump will be the President.

You erroneously think that all this tabloid cloak and dagger gossip and press will bring Trump down. No. You can take this to your little Piggy bank. Neither the Congress nor the justice department nor the judiciary is going to interfere with the decision made by the voters. It has nothing to do with criminal behavior or ultimate justice, it has everything to do with protecting the sanctity of our electoral process, flawed as it is. You just don't get it. It is American politics pure and simple. A politican can be the lowest form of human here in the states and get elected and reelected. He or she can be as dumb as a log and stay in office. Only when the voters get pissed off at something they say or do is when they get voted out. Trump is not there yet. He is not likely to meet that pissed off threshold in the next 7 years, if he hasn't pissed us off by now.

Any mention on Fox of Kelly offering his resignation yesterday after Trump blamed he and Hicks for a sh*tfight he cant afford and offered the job to Barrack who declined the great opportunity?

Apparently the job of steering the Titanic after it hit the iceberg isn't a great long term opportunity.
Who knew?

Kimmy wants to be friends with the South The Koreans are keen to move quickly on this. Wonder what they are worried about?

North Korean leader invites South Korean President to Pyongyang
Kim Jong Un ready to meet Moon Jae-in at "earliest possible time," Blue House says

Dagyum Ji and Oliver Hotham

February 10th, 2018

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has invited South Korean President Moon Jae-in to Pyongyang and is ready to meet at the earliest possible time, Seoul’s Blue House said on Saturday.

It would be the first such summit since 2007, at which then-South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun met with then-DPRK leader Kim Jong Il, and the third since the Korean War.

The invitation was delivered by the DPRK leader’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, during a visit by a high-level  North Korean delegation to the Blue House – the first such visit by DPRK officials in eight years.

“Special envoy Kim Yo Jong delivered the personal letter of chairman of the State Affairs Commission Kim Jong Un which includes the willingness to improve the South-North relations,” presidential spokesperson Kim Eui-kyeom said.

“[She] verbally delivered the intention of chairman of the State Affairs Commission Kim Jong Un’s invitation that ‘he is willing to meet President Moon Jae-in at the earliest date possible and request to visit North Korea at your convenience.'”

It remains unclear whether the South Korean President has accepted the invitation, however, with Blue House saying that Moon had “expressed willingness to clinch it by establishing conditions in the future.”

Earlier in the year he expressed a desire to visit North Korea “at any time” subject to conditions that included discussions on the “denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.”

“I am open to any form of meeting, including a summit, if these are necessary to improve inter-Korean relations and resolve the North Korean nuclear issue,” Moon told more than 200 reporters at the Blue House in January.

“But there should be conditions for the summit to take place, and the results should be guaranteed to some extent,” he added. “If conditions are met and there are hopes, I am ready to engage in the summit at any time.”

The two sides on Saturday also discussed the possibility of talks between Pyongyang and the U.S. in the near future.

“President Moon especially requests for the North to actively come forward to dialogue with the U.S. saying ‘talks between the North and the U.S. early must be needed for the improvement of the inter-Korean relations,'” Blue House spokesperson Kim said.

Despite the smiles, one expert said, “the fundamentals have not changed”| Photo: Blue House

Kim Yong Nam and Kim Yo Jong also signed a guestbook in the Blue House, with the former writing that “It’s the national people’s desire to putting efforts for the unity and confidence in aiming unification” and the latter writing “I hope that Pyongyang and Seoul get closer to heart of our nation and make the future of unification prosperity earlier.”

One expert said that although the agreement on Saturday will postpone the renewal of tensions between North Korea and the U.S., “the fundamentals have not changed.”

“It can help to win time,” Andrei Lankov, a Director of NK News and a professor at Kookmin University said. “It can postpone the revival of highly dangerous tensions, for a few weeks or a few months and this is good.”

“But it’s highly unlikely that anything substantial will be agreed between North Korea and South Korea,” he added. “Because all agreements have to be between North Korea and the United States right now: they are the two parties which are driving the tension.”

The delegation, which arrived in South Korea via private jet on Friday, was led by Kim Yong Nam, President of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly.

He is joined by Kim Yo Jong, who serves as first vice director of the Workers’ Party of Korea’s (WPK) Propaganda and Agitation Department (PAD), as well as Chairman of the National Sports Guidance Committee Choe Hwi and Chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country (CPRC) Ri Son Gwon.

They will return to the North on Sunday.

In addition to the South Korean President, the North Koreans were met on Saturday by Minister of Unification Cho Myoung-gyon, Chief of National Security Council (NSC) Chung Eui-yong, and Presidential Chief of Staff Im Jong-seok.

Director of the South’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) Suh Hoon was also present, though he did not appear on a list of attendees provided by the Blue House to journalists on Friday.

Moon and Kim Yong Nam are set to watch the first match of a joint North-South women’s ice hockey team against Switzerland on Saturday at Kwandong Hockey Center in Gangneung, Gangwon Province.

The meeting represents the most high-level North Korean delegation visit to the Blue House since August 2009, when Kim Ki Nam and the late Kim Yang Gon met then-ROK President Lee Myung-bak during a condolence visit following the death of Kim Dae-jung.

Hwang Pyong So, Choe Ryong Hae and the late Kim Yang Gon visited the South in October 2014, too, to attend the closing ceremony of the 17th Asian Games in Incheon. They did not, however, meet then-South Korean President Park Geun-hye.

But the presence of Kim Yong Nam, often described as North Korea’s “nominal” head of state, represents the highest level meeting between a DPRK official and a South Korean head of state in over a decade.

Kim Yo Jong, too, is the most high-level member of North Korea’s ruling Kim family to visit the South since the Korean War.

If Moon accepts, the meeting would represent the third such summit in modern Korean history, following Kim Dae-jung’s (left) and Roh Moo-hun’s (right) visits in 2000 and 2007 I Credit: DPRK Today, edited by NK News.

One expert said that while the significance of Friday’s meeting should not be overstated, it did represent a “meaningful and welcome development.”

“[It] offers a unique opportunity to probe North Korea’s intentions with someone who is close to Kim Jong Un,” Mintaro Oba, a former Korea desk officer at the U.S. State Department, told NK News ahead of the meeting.

“North Korea is playing poker here — they’re raising the stakes now by amping up expectations for progress, and planning to cash in later when the reputational cost is greatest for President Moon,” he continued. “We do have to understand what North Korea is doing.”

The meeting comes a day after the Opening Ceremony of the PyeongChang Olympics, which saw athletes from the two Koreas march together under the Korean unification flag for the first time in 11 years.

North Korean hockey player Hwang Chung-gum and South Korean bobsledder Won Yun-jong carried the flag, in a rare symbolic – but controversial – display of inter-Korean unity.

In a speech ahead of the ceremony, Moon Jae-in said the games would be a “precious starting point for a step forward toward world peace.”

While South Korea has been keen to use the Olympics – and renewed inter-Korean dialogue in the weeks that preceded it – to engage with Pyongyang, the U.S. has remained notably less sanguine.

The visit was the most high-level meeting between the two Koreas in over a decade | Photo: Blue House

“It’s pretty clear that the White House sees the inter-Korean rapprochement as a bad thing,” former state diplomat Oba said.

“But their strategy here is woefully misguided. By publicly undercutting South Korea’s efforts, the United States is advertising disunity in the alliance and setting itself up to take the blame if inter-Korean dialogue ultimately fails.”

U.S. officials, however, have in the past week dropped hints that there may be some openness to talks with the North Koreans.

“I have not requested a meeting, but we’ll see what happens,” Vice President Mike Pence said on Monday in Alaska on a stopover on his way to South Korea and Japan.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Tuesday told Fox News that he would also not rule out meeting the North Koreans.

President Donald Trump nominates Harry Harris for Australia ambassador

Thirteen months into his presidency, Donald Trump has formally announced his pick for US ambassador to Australia - Admiral Harry Harris, a tough-talking military man who has irritated the Chinese government but has the respect of the foreign policy and defence establishment in Canberra.

Speculation had been swirling for the past six months that Admiral Harris, the commander of US forces in the Pacific, was lined up for the diplomatic posting. His nomination by Mr Trump is likely to enjoy an easy confirmation in the US Senate and is a strong signal to China and the Asia-Pacific of America's intentions, experts said.

A statement from the White House describes him as a "highly decorated, combat proven naval officer with extensive knowledge, leadership and geo-political expertise in the Indo-Pacific region".

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said he was looking forward to seeing Admiral Harris in Canberra and Labor's foreign affairs spokeswoman Penny Wong said he was "a good friend to Australia".

Admiral Harris has served in the military for nearly 40 years and is the 24th commander of the United States Armed Forces in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region, overseeing 375,000 personnel, 200 ships and more than 1000 aircrafts. He has been described as a nuanced military diplomat and strategic thinker who has a good relationship with Mr Turnbull, whom he has met several times. The 61-year-old has drawn the ire of the Chinese government because of his criticisms of China's activities in the region. He has said Beijing is creating a "great wall of sand" with its militarisation of islands in the disputed South China Sea and accused China of being the "owner of the trust deficit" in Asia.In August, Chinese military analysts labelled Admiral Harris as the "most prejudiced" US military chief since World War II. He has also been accused of seeking publicity and "sowing discord".

Ashley Townshend, director of foreign policy and defence at the United States Studies Centre, said the nomination of Harris was an "extremely strong signal" of the Trump administration's strategy in the region.

"He has deep experience in Asia strategy, he has been at the forefront of the Indo-Pacific debate, he has been outspoken on the need to push back against Chinese assertiveness in Asia," Townshend said.

"Appointing someone of that pedigree shows that the White House endorses his views and he will be in a position to advance this agenda."

Merriden Varrall, director of the East Asia program at the Lowy Institute, said the appointment would cause consternation in Beijing, where it will be viewed as a reinforcement of the Australia-US strategic alliance and a hostile position on China's regional ambitions.

"It fits in very neatly with strongly held views in China about the way in which the West tries to bond together to keep China down, that it's threatened by China's rise, that it wants to persecute and humiliate China," Dr Varrall said.

Amid rumours about his future last year, Admiral Harris said he felt "flattered by the warm response" to the reports and described the ambassador role as a "cool job".

The post has been temporarily filled by Charge d’Affaires James Carouso since the Obama-appointed John Berry stepped down in September 2016.

More than a year after the Trump administration was sworn in, many high-ranking positions in the US State Department remain vacant under the leadership of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

The Prime Minister will lead a delegation of government and business leaders to Washington later this month. Mr Turnbull's visit is set to receive special treatment from the Trump administration.

The Chinese love it Isaac, so you probably wont. Harris was cited by the Chinese as the main reason for the failed cooperation between the US and Nth Korea last year, with him being seen as a bad faith agent due to his open hostility to China. They said they would wait till he completed his current tour to take up the anticipated Australia role. He should fit in Canberra with the current anti China environment at the moment under Turnbull. Should be plenty of China bashing coming out of there.

Just another Trumper lie to distract from Trump's collusion and decades long criminality that Mr Mueller is now all over. You only have to wait a day or two to be exposed as such.

Obama had directed the FBI to keep him up to date on the ongoing investigation into Russian meddling prior to the election. You know, the meddling that got Russian Don elected, that he refuses to impose Congress veto proof sanctions over Embarrassed

Very funny. Maybe we should let you Ozzies handle the Russians and Syrians. Being the Johnny come lately diplomats that you are, I am sure the Russians, Syrians, Turks, and terrorists will be delighted to have you at table.

Maybe threatening them with your middle finger will save all the innocents caught in this war. Send a bucket of sand with your diplomatic envoys so they will have a backup plan, if the antagonists can't agree.

Is Israel getting impatient with Donald and Jared's grand plan for Middle East peace?

I know it isn't at all uncommon to exchange fire across the Syria border, but this feels different.

You are so predictable, When cornered and without facts you deflect with cute cartoons, doctored pictures, fake or questionable sources, and, as a last resort, animosity and personal attacks. That is petty much the depth and scope of your character on this thread. The Barnaby thread is where you should be as most everyone, including me, will agree with you that he and his like are sleeze. Besides it looks to be educational. I, for one, am very interested to know how the Kiwis get their middle finger connected to the testicles, if one is to take Maccamax literally. Finger in the dill? Definitely a pickle here in the states for a married man. Makes IVF look appallingly obsolete.

General Kelly is a remarkable individual. You know his son, a USMC rifle platoon leader like your hero Mueller, was KIA in Iraq. The Kelly family are Patriots and have sacrificed a great deal. As for Rob Porter, he denies the accusations. Here is a fact for you. Hillary won the women's vote. Don't think this will effect anything. Like I keep saying, you really don't have a handle on yankee politics. You are looking petty stupid on this thread.

If I dont have a handle I guess your former Dark Prince Bannon doesn't either?

Bannon watching the Golden Globes with a Bloomberg journalist doing a forward to his upcoming book Devil's Bargain.....

"You watch,” Bannon is quoted as saying. “The time has come. Women are gonna take charge of society. And they couldn’t juxtapose a better villain than Trump. He is the patriarch. This is a definitional moment in the culture. It’ll never be the same going forward . . . The anti-patriarchy movement is going to undo ten thousand years of recorded history.”

You're incredibility knows no bounds - Cheer leading for Bannon now  ...Embarrassed

Don't the cover the news on CNN, CNNPT? ... FYI, they were directing the Trump haters within the FBI ... you know, the ones who were rooting each other, whilst trying to do the same thing to Trump.Embarrassed

So Democrat lies are your proof ... it's wearing a bit thin, this "holier than thou" defence, from the Crown Prince of deceit, deflection and lies.

In a moment of vulnerability as his career and life are flushing down the toilet with the shadow of Mr Mueller looming very large over him, Sloppy Steve found a rare moment of truth and honesty.

Hard not to applaud him for that Doc.

Have you researched the  ''True Pundit'' scandal yet? Mr Comey mentioned it under oath, not by that name, but mentioned it and as he handed his little black notebook over to Mr Mueller before he was even appointed SC, it will come out. Even a couple of Republicans have let slip

Another couple of clue.. Albany, RudyWink

Shammy knows all about it but has gone shyLOL

Is General John Kelly still Chief of Staff?

Is he going to prison? He should.

Maybe Hope will get the sack? No, she has been there since the start, she knows where all the skeletons are.

Kelly will have to go.
