I suspect a lot of trump voters supported him simply because they heard what they were privately thinking. thats all it took.
in 4 years when they realise their dire predicament in life hasnt improved and has probably gotten worse, wont matter. as long as trump again says stuff they they were thinking. And yes, some people are that easily controlled. trump even spelled that out to them. "I could stand in the middle of a street, fire a gun and kill someone...and they'l still vote for me" |

Trump thinks hate can be turned on and off like a switch. Incite them with hateful, racist comments during the campaign, bring them all together in his acceptance speech, how does that work |

The names being mentioned as likely cabinet members must be a joke, right? Newt Gingrich. Goldman Sachs bankers. Wall St economists. You call that anti-Establishment?

I'll never understand the weird mixture of capitalism and communism that makes up the average joe's take on the world these days.

I suspect Trump will have smart people who take care of business , they will be terrific people by the way .
Everyone agrees they are going to be the smartest people ,so there will no problem with his people. I think (or hope) Trump will enjoy being president while his people take care of business . There was an interview with Keating and he put forward the view that his foreign policy stance of more friendly engagement with both Russia and China may be a good thing. Where he could do massive damage is in the financial sector and he really does need fantastic and smart people . |

despite an obvious flaw in this history piece, i.e. the usa' s role in so much death and destruction (they must be peace keepers again, the writer did say the joint is great).,, this is still a scary read:

you are sold on trump simply because of what he says? if he isnt impeached in one years time, he might get a pass mark for that alone. |

If he keeps half of the promises he has made about SC, abortion, anti climate change, more guns, deport, anti gay etc he will turn America into a fundamental faux Christian state to compare with Saudi Arabia or Taliban Afghanistan for Islam

‘Prediction professor’ who called Trump’s big win also made another forecast: Trump will be impeached “I'm going to make another prediction,” he said. “This one is not based on a system; it's just my gut. They don't want Trump as president, because they can't control him. He's unpredictable. They'd love to have Pence — an absolutely down-the-line, conservative, controllable Republican. And I'm quite certain Trump will give someone grounds for impeachment, either by doing something that endangers national security or because it helps his pocketbook.” |

C-P=As we sit in the foggy aftermath of one of history's most extraordinary elections one thing is clear enough – Australia just received an enormous shot of financial adrenalin. We are accidental collateral winners from the Republican victory in the US. Call it the Trump gift and it's worth billions.
Trump's policy centrepiece to spend $1 trillion to rebuild America's infrastructure signals a massive increase in demand for commodities like iron ore and coal, which Australia produces. And since declaring he was set to "fix our inner cities and rebuild our highways, bridges, tunnels, airports, schools, hospitals", the prices of these commodities have taken off like a rocket. The price of Iron ore – our biggest export – has soared to almost US$75 a tonne which is almost double where it was at the start of the year. In the past few days since the days it has gained more than 8 per cent. |

Like Brexit, the young are the ones moaning about the result but couldn't be bothered to vote.
