Eric seems to have a lot of his jumpers entered for the Stony Creek trials. Certainly starting early considering the jumps season isn’t until March.

Makes his debut for Musgrove today. Has very good first up form, but not sure today is the right race.

This guy was a huge flop at his hurdle debut at the W’bool carnival, finishing 5th as an even money favourite. That really didn’t surprise me given the heavy workload of flat racing he did in the summer & autumn.

Musgrove paid $75,000 for him last year at Lloyd Williams dispersal sale, so he’ll be hoping Aloft at least puts in an improved showing today if owners are going to recoup that outlay

Hopefully has improved his jumping over the break, looked very ordinary in his action at Warrnambool from memory.

Watching a replay of today’s race, Aloft’s 3rd placings was a serviceable effort. Certainly fitter for the run, so I’d expect we see him again in 3 weeks in one of the maiden hurdles on GN Stpl day at Ballarat.

I heard Eric being interviewed before the race today.
He said he injured himself at Warrnambool and has been schooling him whilst still in work over the last three months. Wanted to give him one or two runs before a spell, thinks he will be a better horse next year. Still doing things wrong

Jumps also scheduled for Casterton and Coleraine over the next two Sundays, so could also bob up there.

Former Cups aspirant way back in 2016 & 2017, has been awful on the flat this season & didn’t show much enthusiasm in his return to the hurdles today at Casterton.

He’s had had his injury problems over the years.  I’d suggest if he doesn’t show up at his next start, surely retirement beckons.

I agree LH, wear & tear takes its' toll on all of us, not the least those aspiring to athletic persuasions.

He has won $500,000
Surely he's had enough now.
