He's nominated for the 3 Perth G1s coming up, probably the type of horse that would bob up winning one of them at any old price.

I think this is the definition of djebel's, throwing darts, racing prep.

I actually think Robbie did a better job at placing him than what Hayes has.
Running for the sake of it IMO

No skippy, but not for a lack of trying, as he had a go at Dollar for Dollar right near the line.

Well he’s found himself as a 3/1 fave for the Gold Bullion over 1400m at Pakenham today.

Can this be the day for that elusive 2nd career win?

On paper, yes it is.......but we are talking about SSB, so it’s hard to be confident.

He did have his only win at Pakenham so maybe he will remember how to win when he gets back there.

The key is he has been freshened.

1400m might be a tad far but being fresh I expect him to run well.

Not backing him at the price though.

The gelding doesn’t seem to have had the desired effect?

They have basically campaigned him in the same manner as previous.

He does not seem as hungry as he was as a colt.

Gelding is NEVER the true reason a horse switches on.

Hard to be confident with this horse but is very well weighted under the SWP conditions.

Tom said this morning that when gelded late, they generally come good in their 2nd prep after.

He gave none but did imply it's across the board, so my commonsense & experience assumption tells me temperament has been moulded overs years therefore new learned behaviour, without the effect of testosterone, is likely to take at least a year.

We usually geld at age 2 or 3, and our experience suggests a two month spell is all that's required to lower testosterone levels sufficiently for a change of attitude and improved performance.

However as suggested it would presumably take longer if a horse wasn't cut until 4 or 5.

Simple as that, he is just playing games with them.

His only win was 26 months ago, so it's little surprise he's forgotten how to win.  Wink

Surely now he goes for a spell and comes back at his natural level? (Perhaps picnics?)

What an absolute muncher this thing is!

I didn't back him but l expected him to win or go close at the very least. He was placed perfectly today. Considering the races he's been in lately, that race today was just perfect. And he still was very cat like.

He runs the same in any class he competes. He doesn't get disgraced against top horses but when he drops in class he can't even take care of those lesser horses. I wouldn't even be surprised if he couldn't beat 58 rated horses. But run him in a listed race and he'll beat half the field home.

What a nightmare. He must be the bookies favourite ever horse. Tom has nothing on this guy.

Surely needs to go low and try find a win? Listed class may be a few rungs to high for him now, worst horse to have a thread with over 10 pages?
