Flash .      I have always said to anyone who accuses people of being racist.

"If you had a House for rent "   Is there any race or person you would never consider unsuitable.

  I REST MY CASE.

FYI .    I'm as soft as butter , BUT I'm a realist and have had more experience  in these very sad areas than most.
People mean well  but we can't have it both ways ,    We either keep society as safe as possible or we put these offenders out there,  to Rape , Murder , Plunder and make life hell for the community.
Offenders do not comply easily and if it takes tear gas or physical restraint or secluded environments to control situations ,   then so be it.

Re the house.

Once we found out about the deception, we went along with the teachers and allowed the situation to continue thinking to help them out a bit.

When they finally moved on 2 years later we found there wasn't a door left in one piece, some rooms had "new ventillation" and other wall modifications, syringes in the garden bushes outside windows etc.

And the neighbours which had tried to befriend them, without it being reciprocated, begged us please please whatever you do don't rent like that again. They said the place was going 24 hours a day, noise, music, people arriving at all hours some from interstate at times, staying a few days then moving on it was bedlam. It was like listening to trauma patients desperatley unload.

That's just a bit of the story there's enough better examples on here. It just related to the Sky news article.

What was sad was that those teachers didn't help them one bit, they had other agendas which l won't go into. And all l saw in that early maintenance visit was a desperate limiting emphasis only on sport and musical achievement.

And don't worry macca, l know you're about right on most things since you started posting here. If you did a stint as a Director of nursing you'll know l know all about that, if you remember earlier posts in other threads. You need to be very practical in that caper and have your wits about you.

What was depicted at the detention centre was the end game of a riot basically so the consequences with the tools at hand weren't going to be pretty to everyday lifers especially with the added deception*

But what would we know Wink

Looks like a virus has killed the thread.

Has everyone lost the soft spot for the little darlings overloading our detention centres.

No worries ..     A Royal Commission will  change their address , maybe ,  but won't change their wicked ways..

Still up for a fight/argument maccamax? I say why bother, you have all the experience. You have the floor.........
Will say one thing...Dylans mother was interviewed, onnnnnnnnnn abc channel 2!
She thought she was doing the right thing when she got the police involved, when Dylan was 11 and he broke a window of her house.
She now regrets doing that because he didnt get the help/counselling he should have. Satisfied. Did the community create a monster?
Interesting no mention of a dad. Perhaps the lack of a decent male figure in his life.....
And it is admitted that after his institionised life it will be difficult for him.
Touche to you maccamax!

No Fight / Argument required ..    Some understanding of the terrible situation Staff face when handling dangerous people .
They release people who have killed 3 separate times these days ,  so check out your new neighbours .
There is one , coming to a place near you .

I can't argue much anyway , as these great people on TBV don't attack us mad people who are over 21.           >
I've always loved the blind way  Authorities   send out people they know will kill .
Psychiatrists justify " they won't offend again as long as they take their medication " .     WOT gelati

Governments have staff who monitor these stats .       They would say = You can't keep 400 locked up because 7 will kill.          Stiff if your in the wrong place at the wrong time .

Did you see Ivan Milat is being looked at over 14 missing women .
He went through the Courts for similar , 20 years before they nabbed him .    NOT good enough .   There are plenty of Ivan's in those detention centres.

I tried posting these articles but received errors;

The above provide perspective regarding just how dangerous these criminals can be. Where is the outrage and demands for Royal Commissions regarding the safety of juvenile detention center staff?

Female staff being threatened with rape, staff having to barricade themselves in offices as inmates riot, staff details falling into the hands of inmates, staff at risk of being seriously injured and killed.

Where is the TV expose? Why does a spit hood receive so much attention while the above receives so little? Has control been lost because staff are now not allowed to use the tools required to control these animals?

Forget cameras, Paramedics should be issued with a firearm of their choice and 365 bullets each year, and instructed to "use 'em or lose 'em" ... the stats would change ... this isn't regional WA or NT, this is in the cultural capital of the Western World!.

Victorian paramedics to trial digital body cameras to record assaults against them

Mark Dunn, Sunday Herald Sun
Subscriber only

VICTORIAN paramedics are set to begin trialling digital body cameras to record assaults against them and aid in prosecutions as they continue to fall victim to aggressive drug and mental health effected patients.

With up to half its operational officers, or 1600 members, unable to work at any one time because of employment-related injuries, assault, trauma or stress, Ambulance Victoria has asked for a uniform-mounted body cam trial.

The Sunday Herald Sun understands Minister for Ambulance Services Jill Hennessy is likely to announce a decision on any funding allocation in October.

“The government has zero tolerance for anyone who threatens, assaults or abuses our hardworking paramedics,” Ms Hennessy told the Sunday Herald Sun.

Official data shows one paramedic is assaulted or threatened every day and of 328 formal reports in 2014-15, a third were physically attacked and about 100 cases involved drug or alcohol effected patients.

Gee, who'd have thought, it even happens in NT ...

Man hit female paramedic as she tended his dying dad

TOM VOLLING, NT News

A MAN attacked a female paramedic when she tried to resuscitate his dying father, a court has heard.

Casim Henry Meneri was sentenced in Alice Springs Local Court to four months in prison for assaulting a worker on April 24 in Amoonguna.

The court heard at 1.30am Meneri lunged at and punched the St John Ambulance paramedic in the thigh when she started to tend to his father, who had collapsed and was leaning against a wall.

She had to stop and a second ambulance was called. The father later died.

Police prosecutor Phil Emmett said the victim now felt “very cautious” and “uneasy” attending call-outs.

“This ambulance officer was tending to a patient in urgent need, providing life-giving medical attention,” he said.

“She was punched so hard she had to cease providing that help and they had to provide another crew, taking a second ambulance out of the community resources.

“The Territorian community have a right to think they can go to work and provide these lifesaving duties without being assaulted.”

The victim was unable to perform duties for the rest of her shift and had a limp for days, the court was told.

Judge John Birch said the assault was “inexplicable”.

“It is not a normal reaction to assault someone who is providing medical attention to a loved one,” he said. “Unfortunately we are hearing a lot of stories about ambulance officers being assaulted in the course of their employment. They have a right … to render medical care to people without being interfered with.”

A conviction was recorded.

In January St John officials called for an end to violence against paramedics after a rock was thrown at paramedics while they were treating an assault victim. The attack occurred just one day after a health worker, 31, was punched in the face by a man, 51, during her shift at Alice Springs Hospital and one week after a female paramedic was shoved by a male as she treated a patient in Larapinta town camp.

Great to see the unbiased ABC coverage of the Sham Royal Commission, with Dylan Voller (52 convictions, 23 for assault, many against corrective services staff, over 300 recorded incidents of "spitting" in custody, many involving nurses and other female clerical staff, and who identifies as "indigenous") paraded on the stand as a "hero victim", giving uncontested evidence, saying that he feared for his life, was afraid of being bashed to death, and only ever spat at larger males as this was his only form of defence.

None of the 31 corrective services staff who he has accused of assult, are allowed to question his evidence.

Also good to see the totally unqualified and biased Commissioner Mick Gooda (stated that the place should be shut down and the NT government sacked, before any evidence was provided!), thank and praise him for his "bravery" ... not sure how "brave" he needed to be to bash one of his more recent 17 yo victims unconscious ...

Just cant wait for the findings and recommendations of this report to be ignored, just like the previous three investigations held on the same subject over the past dozen or so years ... of course, Dylan still has his claim under the HRC and ADR to look forward to ... Dead

Most of those convictions he acquired before he was 16.  Cry They dont tell us what he has done since .
But he did bash and kick a 17 year old unconcious and rob him, run over a cop, and bash a bloke on the way home from work and kick his face to bits, all in the space of 24 hours at one go.Sick
Prison staff are not allowed to speak up and tell their side of what life is like dealing with these disgusting and violent thugs.
Then Mr Gooda makes this violent little thug out to be  a hero , and cheers  him ????
An unbiased commission ????
Please !!!!Thumbs Down

So, clearly, the binding, the spit hoods, the bashings, the physical and mental abuse ... it ALL works!
