I'm not convinced as to how "innocent" the bloke is, but I don't think he would have done what he has ben accused of in this case.

That's pretty much my POV, but I'd add that he's probably a lot more innocent of certain things than many bishops/ cardinals etc.

Court of Appeal decision tomorrow morning. I have a huge $20 bet at evens with my neighbour. I think he will walk free. We made the bet months ago .

The mind should boggle. It's a disgusting situation, and some of the worst perpetrators and enablers are still protected and promoted by the RCC. What is happening with the Canonical trial through the Vatican?  Are they awaiting the outcome of this decision today? It was reported months ago that the investigative process had been set in motion.

Like much to do with the Catholic Church and self discipline it is a dodgy process held in secret with no penalty outside defrocking.

Also there had been 2 trials with the second cancelled following the guilty finding in the first. People(victims) were upset at the second being cancelled. 

If the appeal is upheld on some legal technicality today, what might happen with the second set of charges? Can they be resurrected(see what I did there?) and a second criminal process? It had been reported that victims in that cancelled trial were going forward with civil action against Pell.  

Are they also just awaiting this decision today?

Like the Orange Menace Georgie will be fighting legal battles all the way to his grave methinks, but like Izzy it is fortuitous that he doesn't have to stump up for his own legal bills. The law and justice is for those who can best afford it.
