Hahaha... we had around 20 people around for a BBQ, and I can promise there was a whole lot of that as he was breaking away to challenge in the straight!

My anxiety goes through the roof beforehand so not sure I was the best company prior to it Embarrassed

Congrats on yesterday's effort SS Clap    top horse.
That said am surprised you haven't made mention of all the screaming, yelling and general jumping up and down coming from this house during the race.

Thanks furious, djebel and VSP.
This horse is going to give me a heart attack I swear... such an amazing run yesterday from the carpark barrier to come within a length of winning the Bart Cummings. The horse is all heart.

First Immortal is a Group winner waiting to happen after that win. Fabulous. Congrat's Storm Siren, very exciting.

Thanks all! Was a big week - I retained a share in Sirens Star so double the excitement there.

First Immortal quite literally had me in tears with that performance yesterday. Feels like I’m dreaming to have bred one like him so quickly. Fingers crossed he figures the whole game out, will be fun to watch Smile

The Pride of Dubai half has gone a bit quiet. HK buyers so we’ll see if he’s exported. We have a Written By colt that will sell next year, rated highly by the farm so will see how he fairs

Good Luck Storm Siren,
Mr Kav knows how to win a SA Derby he won in 2004 with Hard to Get owned by Joe Ricciardo of Mandivian fame
it was pouring with rain and we got 15/1
Great day it was

Figured I'd stop my dancing long enough to post that First Immortal, Storm's second foal, has been nominated for the South Australian Derby next week.
To say I'm excited is a HUGE understatement Star

Bit of an update on the rest of the family since it seems I haven't updated in a while. Her second foal, the Churchill colt, sold well to Mark Kavanagh and has since been named 'First Immortal'. Like mum, charges on from back in the field the two starts he's had and is nommed for a 2050m race at Moe this Friday which may be the ticket.

She had a colt by Pride of Dubai who we sold at a massive loss at the Adelaide sales, just to see him go through the R2R sales at 10x our sale price... Hong Kong buyer so will see where he ends up.

This year she had a colt by Written By who is doing well, have been trying her with Portland Sky but no luck so may have a final roll of the dice with Written By again, otherwise she misses the season. Here's a pic of the colt below.

Well... was very much living the dream last week before last. Storm's first foal by Star Witness, Sirens Star, broke her maiden at Canterbury at her third start coming from way out the back. Was great to see Star

Haven't had a lot of luck with her this spring but finally got a positive back - 15 days to Pride of Dubai who I was keen on at the beginning of the year. Really hope she holds, I think its a good cross and he's off to a great start Smile

And another one for good measure. Visited him last month and absolutely adore him... he's got some spunk, independent young man...

Storm was covered by More Than Ready last week so hopefully another nice one to come next year all being well Smile

Heard the Coolmore team went out to look at him last week, certainly not complaining. Absolutely loving this little guy....

The ANZ news bulletin has the Sorm Siren colt from this year (different head marking) as one of the foals advertising Churchill!

And this one. Hot King Prawn runs in his next G2 before the international races next weekend so fingers crossed, and Storm had her 45 day positive come back for Churchill so looking at another August foal all being well..
