Australian racing is only good up to 1400m in terms of world standards when it comes to depth/quality in numbers

Don't think he can beat her, but just proves what a lot of good judges thought about his Flemington run.
Had improvement to come and showed it there. |

Its true - both horses bred in WA, I wouldnt have said it on here mate unless it was true. On another note - anyone know how many horses have won the: Goodwood (1200m), Memsie (1400m) and Underwood (1800m) in the same year? That would have to be a rare treble?? |

He's certainly a very versatile horse, winning G1's over a range of distances. Great to see Blackfriars get another G1 win as a stallion.
He Or She was great too for WA. His sire Kendel Star is an interest one. I vaguely remember him when racing in Melb in the mid-90's but he ended up finishing touch racing career in far North Qld. Wonder how he ended up in WA. He still active at stud as a 26yo!!!

Australia's most improved horse! Who was the last Goodwood winner to even attempt the other two legs?

He or She and Black Heart Bart were both in the same WA stable. Sigley still has a share in He or She

He'll beat Winx if he improves at least 6 lengths . Not exactly high class Group 1s he's been winning.

He doesn't have the finish Winx does. In fact I would be surprised if he makes it easily over the 2000m, although strong today, on the line he still wasn't flash to make me think he would go much further.

Good win. He surprised me. Doubt he gets anywhere near Winx though over 2000. That was hardly a grade opposition he beat today besides Lucia who needs a soft track. Jacqinot Bay wasn't far away in 4th which probably puts it in perspective

Winx looks to me like she is racing more like a miler. Remember she has been past 2000m only once in open company. Yes she gapped them but there was the small matter of the one-lane superhighway she got that day. She's all class, but I think considering her current CP odds, she's vulnerable against a few who might be lining up against her.

Exactly she was gifted the Cox Plate last year been beating handicappers this year... and I don't think she is going as good as last year. He will test her...and we won't have to wait long to see it either.

Right. She's won 11 in a row, but she only won the CP because of the one lane super highway she got on the day. And Bart who has won one in a row would have won the CP if he'd got the same run.
I get the feeling there a a few drunk parochial Victorians who backed Bart today contributing to this thread. |

He may have won the CP with the run Winx got but he wouldn't have run away from them the way she did. She's racing like a miler because she is a miler and a very very good one. Good milers can stretch to a mile and a quarter and she has proven she can do it.
She's all class and still very under rated. The only way they'll beat her next start is if she doesn't handle Caulfield which can always happen with a Sydney horse. |

Haha Bart beat Winx over 2000m? Unless she is given one of the worst rides in history it's not going to happen. I have a lot of respect for Bart but let's not forget that He or She was 2nd at WFA level today and Jacquinot Bay was 4th... The reason he was as short as he was because there was nothing there to beat him. Also, I'm not sure Winx would have lost to Palentino with the run Bart got in the Makybe either... She would have won hands and heels.

Well personally I'm not Victorian. Pretty sure whito isn't either. But that notwithstanding, that was a devastating response.

I reckon Winfreux's record is comparable, if not more impressive....in a 12 month period he won... 1st-7 29/01/1968 MVRC William Reid Stakes 1189m. Earlier in career within one month he won Stradboke Hdcp 1400m ,BRC Tatts Cup 2000m and Doomben Cup 2200 m |

If Black Heart Bart was a 2yo and got the same run as Capitalist he would have won the golden slipper for sure. And if he got the same run as Pirates of Penzance he would of won the Melbourne cup too. Despite the fact he didn't even run it.

I think that's a fair assessment. But we're looking at it from a value perspective. BTW, I don't think she's underrated.
