Brisbane Cup makes a lot of sense if they are trying to qualify for Melb Cup.

Good effort. Not sure she was in the best part of the track at this point.

She'll keep - a good win in her this prep up there.

Prep finished. Gone out for a couple of weeks break, before commencing pre-training in QLD and being set for the Caulfield Cup

With her current 103 rating, roughly what weight would she be allocated in the Spring Cups?

Given her 2015 Colin Stephen Qlty win no longer counts towards passing the Cups ballot clause, DKW will need to win something in the Spring to get her re-qualified.

Personally, I'd have kept her up for the Brisbane Cup - winning or even running a place at Eagle Farm would have fully re-qualified her, thereby taking the pressure off having to win a lead up race in the Spring.

I think because of her soundness issues, they didn't want to risk her on the questionable EF surface

On her at 101s ew for the Caulfield Cup which is her main target Im hearing.

Reckon she would be a lightweight chance if she can make it in.

Haven't seen an order of entry so don't know if she needs to win on Saturday or not.

Jeez had no luck last start and was going well

Wait gov,you aren't David Gately, are you?

He has a serious thing for this mare!

Just wondering why she will win today? I myself can not see it, but I am open to being convinced!

If she needs to win to make the Caulfield Cup field Bonfield, I would say the entire state of Victoria is on!

Unless she only gets warm at 2400m and that could be as far as I know now, Amelie's Star is a seriously overrated horse.

I think you are confusing her with her trainer.

She is a very good mare. 103 looks a reasonable rating.

BOOM BOOM BOOM.......line up line up - fill up!

Caulfield Cup then Melb Cup. On at $101 for C.Cup. & just needs a small penalty.

Undefeated at 2001m+

Most promising local stayer in the country (Winx excluded)!

Well done mate. You were keen a long way out too.

But why do you want a penalty? She's guaranteed a start in the Melb Cup after today's win so surely the Caulfield Cup is a given?

If not it seems a bloody strange state of affairs.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left

You won't believe me considering my earlier remark but Amelie's Star was the only horse I considered backing today, based on the hope that she would improve greatly at the longer distance and Almandin being huge unders. I went to the trouble of searching for the best odds but could only find $5.50 which did not thrill me and by then the swelling had subsided.

I think you also cleaned up - well done!

She is 31st in order for C.Cup. Naeds a penalty to move up the order
