I had a look at Bride & Prejudice. Quite entertaining. But I had to keep asking myself, why are these strange people doing this in front of a camera crew? What kind of psychopathology do they all suffer from?Confused

Has anyone watched Gogglebox ?  I keep getting told how very funny it is, but so far havnt quite worked myself up to have a look.  It seems a bit weird,  watching TV,  watching other people watch TV Ermm Like others here , I watched a bit of Bride, and thought the same .  They must pay them a motza to get them to make such fools of themselves for all the world to see. About 10 mins of one episode was enough for me.  Same with all those bachelor shows.  If those good looking people have such trouble finding a partner that they need to go and do it on TV , there must be some serious under lying problem with them.  LOL

There will be a few awards for this movie. I knew Rami Malek could act, loved his quirky work in Mr Robot, but he was seriously born for the role of Freddie Mercury!

Fantastic entertainment for the most minimal Queen fan, or even those who never really liked them.Clap

Bohemian Rhapsody Will Not Rock You

The fraught new Freddie Mercury biopic hits the expected notes—and sells the rock icon’s real biography far too short.

like you whale the critics pan Bohemian Rhapsody

however the public love it.

like the critics you miss the point

the public are seeing it to enjoy and reminisce

a "real" biography will be for another movie.

and anyway it depicts some of his life.

And Tate’s the winner! Interesting to see what unfolds off camera? Let’s hope Ally”s not a realitytvshowaholic.
I admired the honey badger for saying “sorry you are both very nice, but this show is crazy and I don’t love anyone “ he’s been vilified for it, and seems to have gone awol 🙃

My exact comment to my 23 yo son was that they did a great job producing an entertaining movie, NOT a documentary - he agreed, he loved it!

... if you want to watch a doco on Queen and/or Freddie, people can knock themselves out, there are plenty out there, and they have been around for years ... I would be surprised if this doesn't inspire a few more.

Just go and see it Whale.
In reference to every post in the Trump thread ... "There may have been a tiny bit of license taken there" ... Ok, Thanks for the "heads up" PT!

I got a rave review of Bohemian Rhapsody from an acquaintance, but since she is 70 something with appalling, imho, musical tastes, it did not inspire me to rush to the theatre. But now a Dr E endorsement ... well that changes everything.LOL

you must be hard to please if you dont like queen.

What do you like in music?

Saw Bohemian Rhapsody.

Just brilliant. The critics who say there isnt enough about the gay aspect were probably looking for more porn!

There was plenty; in fact perhaps aids happened for a reason. Was certainly Freddys downfall, sadly.

I don't know that I'd bother with Bohemian Rhapsody.  I'd rather watch Queen at Wembley over again.

What I did't realize was that prior to Queen's set the crowd had seen INXS, The Alarm and Status Quo, so it was little wonder they were pumped by the time the top of the bill was reached.  Not a bad gig for 14 quid, even in 1986.

Must admit I’ve never really warmed to Queen- all a bit theatrical and “glam rock” for my tastes. Though he is a compelling character, and I do like a bit of good music history- probably prefer it in doco form.

Speaking of which, if you want a bit of a chuckle with your music history, I recently caught a film on legendary Cream drummer and all round headcase Ginger Baker. The whole thing’s on YouTube. Stay away from smack, kids:

Those were the days when you could go to  a concert for a reasonable price, before promoters realised how much they could gouge the public

I'd state what the $20 was for PT .     Sammy was a swinger.

My first thought is ,   Not PT surely.
