lol ..    The Austin A40 was a popular little car of the 1940/50's.   I had a Ute and canopy , the mattress in the back was our Motel of those days.

I love the mare and have her in the top few that I've seen in my time on this fair planet. In saying that Vo Rogue beat/flogged, in the same manner, that Winx is flogging her contemporaries the following.
Better Loosen Up
Bonecrusher
Campaign King
Super Impose
Our Poetic Prince

Not saying they would beat her but I have no doubt they would beat her current opposition

As much as I love Winx I think she would have trouble going past Might And Power in his prime.

Vo Rogue was an absolute marvel at his best. Sustained high speed brought the very best undone. And let's not forget his jockey Cyril Small who knew how to rate him. Both he and M&P wouldn't have been floundering when Winx unleashed so it would've been a spectacle worth travelling miles for had they been in the same era. In many ways it's fortunate they weren't.

She has Won races and run times that were beyond Might and Power in her distance ranges.        The Randwick miles for a start .    But those Champions of the past were the best of their time as Winx is today.
Respect them all ,   they all gave a lot to Racing .

Thats some list mate.

Wouldn't say that Vo Rogue flogged Better Loosen Up though, they met 5 times from my memory and BLU won 4 - Blamey 1990 (BLU won) Aust Cup 90 (Vo) Rawson 90 (BLU) then in 91 BLU won the Blamey and Aust Cup when Vo was well past his best.

How about Rubiton? Only had 16 starts but in the Cox Plate alone he beat Our Poetic Prince (2nd) Vo Rogue (4th) Beau Zam (5th) and Campaign King (10th)

BLU had winning H2H records against Vo Rogue, Super Impose, Horlicks and Sydeston, and beat the likes of Belmez and Cacoethes in Japan.

Add in the likes of Shaftesbury Avenue, Lets Elope, Rough Habit etc and that was a tremendous era.

Super Impose and M&P are my two favorite horses of all time. Think Winx would beat them easy.

Is it fair to rate SYT as a champion ir has his reputation been tarnished so to speak as he only won five Group 1s in Australia?

Where does SYT sit in terms of bein rated alongside the champs of the late 80s, 1990s, 2000s and now?
Australian racing is only good up to 1400m in terms of world standards when it comes to depth/quality in numbers

It would be interesting to see Winx stretching out to try and catch a flying Might And Power.

Of course it is fair to rate him a champion, he stays here he probably wins 4 Plates and Saucer or two along the way.

He is probably better known for racing against thebes in the world and wining five Group 1s rather then his acbievements in Australia.

SYT beat Zipping by a length in the CP. Can't say that is remotely hot form.

At least SYT will be known for taking on the best in the world and doing well. I reckon thats what he will be best known for.

I have Winx beating SYT by roughly two lengths at 2000m. Could be more or less. Its just hard to line them up (and other past greats).

Although I have seen comments on social media that Winx would beat SYT by ten lengths which to me sounds a bit extreme.

At both of their peaks my guess would be Winx by around 3-4 over 2000 if the track has give, if its rock hard maybe 2-3.

SYT was aiming at the MC when he beat Zipping by a length and a quarter. Flogged him by 3 as a 2yo (by bd) in CP1.  Workforce won a massive two true and proper G1s. Cultural cringe.

Time to move this to a more appropriate thread.

See you had to add in the 1/4 length. You will also notice that Zipping was closing on the line.

Imagine defining a horses form via a 1/2 length beating of Humidor. LOL

As might be expected following the late-ish decision to take SYT to the Cup. Might be my memory inventing stuff but I seem to recall Bart lamenting the fact that he would have won the MC if he'd been allowed to prepare SYT for that race specifically.

All good discussion for another thread.
