Nice conditions to be working with horses....not.  Ballarat included.

Severe winds with gusts up to 120km/h have been blowing across the west of Victoria this morning and are anticipated to impact GEELONG in the next half an hour before progressing to MELBOURNE. Be advised these winds have already blown down trees, roofs and powerlines. Tie down loose items. Watch for debris on the road. Do not shelter under trees. Be safe.

had to laugh.
got a call from a telemarketer flogging Telstra, they ring every 2nd day.
he introduced himself ,said he was in Melbourne, an obvious lie.

I asked him what the weather is like today.
he said it is very nice LOL

Chaos across Ballarat as storms hit

By

There was chaos across Ballarat this morning as emergency crews rushed to multiple incidents brought on by wild winds and wintry downpours.

Ambulance crews, firefighters and police attended reports of a tree across a car just outside of Clunes.

A man was driving along Ballarat-Maryborough road when a large tree collapsed across his vehicle.

Mica paramedic Sean Duggan said the man would be transported to Ballarat Base Hospital with minor injuries.

The road is currently open, however, emergency services are still at the scene.

More than 3000 homes are without power across the city as wild weather descends on Ballarat.

Temperatures are still below six degrees this morning with winds gusts of around 40 kilometres per hour leading to multiple reports of fallen trees.

Did I mention I needed an excuse to Bless the horse with a Sunday? Wink

If I disappear, you'll know the power got whacked, already have a branch down beside the bedroom window Shocked

My bus, as I type this, is stuck in the Otway ranges. Huge winds have bought down loads of trees, so plenty of emergency crews there using chainsaws to cut down trees to allow traffic to get moving again.
Power out all the way along the Great Ocean Road too. On the plus side though, 10-12 foot surf at Bells Beach is pretty cool!!

Jumpouts were scheduled for the CP back straight so transferred to the Hill track due to the wind. However, they had to wait a while for a cyprus to be cleared Big smile
Bit bored, can't you tell? LOL

The 20+yo won't ever come in but was firmly ensconced in her hay nest & hasn't surfaced 'till now but the other 'madam' shot in the door at 8 & L felt sorry for her after the footy so left her in. Needless to say she woke him later (I'd sleep thru' a bomb raid LOL) & he dutifully did the honours i.e. do the crime, do the time Wink. He hates putting her out, that's my job(cruel) but he said to leave her when I shunted off Big smile
I did actually used to wear long johns in my early days when working the neds, gee they made a huge difference! Fingers & feet are the big losers these days Ouch
The feels like is only 4.5 but the sun's out with only a light breeze so quite warming when standing in it. Think I'll opt for the heated lounge all the same Wink
Fine & frosty right thru' to Sat., albeit max temps of 10/11 so we shouldn't have any cancelled meetings this week & the punters'll appreciate the drier tracks, I'm sure. I guess they can then complain about form reversals Wink

Lol. I was in the surf down at Jan Juc this time yesterday. Awesome waves.

Next Weekend will be 25-26oC. So I have on problems with it being cool during the week.

Going to get cold wet and wild in Sydney from tomorrow.

That is Spring time in Eastern Australia.
