If he was trained by Barry Nobody, the horse would be 20/1.
Not to say he cant win, but boy, maiden win to this class and you are asked to take $3.80??

Shamalia's win over Sidestep has to be pretty good form for this surely.

True that. I'd still rather take $7.50 about the one that's just beaten Sidestep, instead of $3.80 about one that's just won a Geelong maiden, even taking into account the barriers.

No point betting in that weather and only listened on radio but sounded like a big effort from way back in those conditions?

The conditions were absolutely disgraceful.

Chautauqua ran through the ground super and will take a stack of improvement.

There's a win for Dothraki sooner rather than later. Thought the latter had a tough run on the speed and condition gave out in the final 50.

Yeah Stayer Dothraki was a great run worked the whole way.

Couldn't resist having a crack when I saw the fields. This was the leg I was most confident of go figure. LOL

I only go sunday quaddies if I can take 3 one outs and get 1000% for $50! Couldn't see that happening anywhere today!

Was a moral beaten. Hawkes are very astute judges, they are very good at placing their horses where they can win, and this horse clearly was showing massive potential on the track.
Is there a better stable in this country right now? I doubt it.

Curata Storm won the BMW, Fuimicino won plenty, Malauckyday 2nd in a Melbourne Cup. Bit harsh.I would say its more down to Darley than his ability. Darley aren't interested in stayers.

maybe but those 3 u mentioned aren't exactly star stayers in retrospect. Just interesting that hawkes doesn't train stayers. Feel stupid for not realiIng that.

Even more reason to give them credit if they managed to win big races with average horseflesh...
He was Ingham and Darley trainer, they breed sprinter/milers, so that is what he knows.
Who is a good trainer of stayers by the way? No trainer in this country dominates staying events, they all take it in turns.

Darley breed plenty of stayers.

It's a nonsense comment to suggest they are not interested in them.

Australia does not have ANY trainers that excel in the stamina required races.
