Had a nibble on HONEY TOAST in the 2nd at Doomben tomorrow. $31 fixed.

Also got $17 for PECANS in the last. She was in great form last prep, will handle track and being drawn out wide wont be a bad thing by then.

Some nice runs from a few of the roughies of late, and a some to keep a sly eye on, but no cigars ... you might say they're performing like the Socceroos at a World Cup!!!Cry

Time to kick a few goals!!!Big smile

Doomben R5
13. Hingus Rose
@ $51.00 (Win) ... might be a bit below these, but she tries hard.

Doomben R6
1. Sacred Master
@ $46.00 (Win) ... handy stayer on the comeback trail, and beyond the fav. not much depth here - e/w.

Doomben R7
11. Slydini
@ $126.00 (Win) Boost ... always thought he was capable as a younger horse, never really got there, but has been consistent in recent preps, capable of a big run here, probably run 4th.

Flemington R5
8. La Courbette
@ $26.00 (Win) ... former Eurotrash who has been racing consistently in Sydney, and provides the alternate form line here. Stays well, big track should suit, and if I wasn't on her I'd just be with Crafty Cruiser @ 100/1 ... better have a quinella.Wink

Flemington R7
4. Sakhee's Soldier
@ $71.00 (Win) ... best performed runner on the card - 3 time black type winner in NZ with a victory over Rising Romance on his CV. Has rarely found himself in this class and not conceding many kilos. Can win.

A few others that are not quite ruff enuff, but in the multis ...

Sons of John @ $10 is in the right race now.

Richard Of Yorke @ $15 can bounce back

Ample On Offa @ $13 duel acceptor who looks better than them in Adelaide

Missrock @ $18 looks overs based on what Santa Anna Lane did to them in the Straddie.

Hope that they don't take a dive!Wink

Moonee Valley R7
3. Dance With Fontein
@ $29.00 (Boost)

Forgive last start, 3 short course victories at Money Valley, back to mid week grade. Looks like the right race for her to return to the winners circle

I think we went one run early on these two;

Sunshine Coast R8
3. Sacred Master
@ $36.00 (Boost)- Genuine stayer, and thought he did enough 3rd up. History says he peaks 4th up (3 for 3 includes a Newcastle Cup) and 2400m on the big track is more suitable. Interestingly, back with NZ trainer after failing to progress in tougher company for Waller in last prep. This class looks ideal.

Rosehill R9
6. Samantha
@ $27.00 - Better run, but just found the June Stakes too rich. More improvement required and may come now she's 3rd up. Previous Listed form stacks up nicely in this grade. All 4 wins at 1100m on wet tracks.

Big smile

Rockhampton R8 Saturday

Kincaple Chief $34/8.50

Has never won two in a row and up in class but Toowoomba win was impressive and 2,3,4 have all won subsequently (in weaker class than this race).

Tried to get on a boost with the pathetic WilliamHill but they'd only take $25. They and Neds are by far the most gutless corporates in my experience.

One of mine 3bm! ... no market with Sportsbet yet, but I'll be on too!Thumbs Up

Nicely weighted, and I see "Sausage" has retained the ride ...

A couple more to ride home!

MR2 #1 Killarney Kid @ $26 - In the 2000m Weir Benefit final (as most of them are on Saturday), I reckon he can do a Waller here, and win it with his roughy. Best form is here and at 2000m, 3rd up fit and ready, and would not need to find his best to beat these. No pesky Waller runners either.

BR4 # 4 Monteux @ $27 - shown nothing this time in, but forgive last start on heavy. Goes from a mile to 2040m now at a t/d where he has shown form a year ago (3:1-0-2) in better grade than this. Just needs the track to improve a bit. Surely the fav with 62kg's after the 3kg claim is a risk, although he goes well here too, and the rest of them are just not very good.

ps for those too busy to do some digging will be more explicit after we've all got on.

Bet365 offered $15 yesterday and I missed it: now $6 fixed.  TAB put up $11 and I missed it: now $5.5 fixed.  Hope you buggers didn't knock of my price.

I cashed out most of my bet earlier when I saw the track was heavy. Didn't help because I backed a mudder later which ran midfield.LOL
Better track gives him a show but query is backing up after a slog in the mud? Not for me.

Loaded up on a couple, and had a few speculators on these;

Caulfield R3
13. Portion Control
@ $23.00/$6.00 (Each Way)- very good at huge odds when beaten by in form Barthelona 1st up, with gap to 3rd - won this race last year

Caulfield R6
10. Nothin' Leica High
@ $61.00/$16.00 (Each Way) - went close a few runs back, and been thereabouts against some of the better 3 yos, had things against past two, not much depth here outside the 2 favs.

Caulfield R9
5. Sakhee's Soldier
@ $101.00/$26.00 (Each Way) - might be going a run or two early here. Stays at 1400m and probably needs further these days - just hoping

Sunshine Coast R5
2. Sergeant Blast
@ $26.00/$6.50 (Each Way) - came across the ditch with a good record, may have been aimed too high. Back to a class 6 and a mile should be more suitable. Quinella with 5. Monteux @ $46

Morphettville R6
1. Cashed
@ $26.00/$6.00 (Each Way) - Has more exposed form than these - 3 wins 5 placings t/d - 2nd up winner last prep. Fitter for 1st up wide run in stronger race. Last win was 1000m on Parks circuit BM82 Sept '17. Beat Lankan Rupee (3rd) home when 2nd in G2 Schillaci Stakes as a 4 yo!

Quick Quizz!

Can anybody recall seeing a Saturday Metro BM race with a market like Caulfield R3, where the top four in the weights are all likely to start at 50/1 or more? ... looks like a nice race for exotics to me.

I can't beat that Doc but my only entry in the '16 under $20k comp was Mandela Effect $20+ winner @ Caulfield but couldn't back it even with a Boost after listening to Scot give it virtually no hope this morning, sadly Cry  He's not even a VOBIS horse either which would've been a nice addition to his tally Ouch
Wisdom has been chasing me but I've always outrun it!
