And wins again. I think this horse could develop into something capable of giving the Waller trained euros a run for their money.

Agree Djebel, will be interesting to see where they take him from here. Given his pedigree it is a surprise that he is showing speed over 1400-1600m. Can't wait to see him over longer.

Re the gelding-he must have had some issues. Was initially trained in Japan. Then sent to Freddie(?) Head in France before ultimately coming down here. Never reached the racetrack so something must have been wrong. Not sure at what stage he was gelded.

Prejudice is an emotional attachment to ignorance.

Having his 3rd start tomorrow night over 1550m.

He is trained by Australiia's second biggest trainer.

I am sorry but our trainers are just not up to the task.

D'you ever consider that training methods have to be different in different parts of the world? Archie Alexander exemplifies what you love in a trainer, he gets good stock and goes pretty average.

Have you also ever considered that breeding alone does not determine what distance range suits a horse?

Whether he wins tonight or not does not really matter. He and Fifty Stars and many many others are bred to stay and have shown the type of speed top class stayers should display.

I just think you need to stop believing they are stayers just on breeding, there are plenty of examples of horses excelling at a distance race that defies their breeding.

You may be right about our trainers belief that a horse to slow to be a sprinter is a stayer and a speedy horwe is automatically a sprinter but.

When you say plenty it is actually a minute percentage.

The vast majority of horses trained and educated properly will perform to their pedigree.

This week was always going to be an exciting one for Jason Warren, but his anticipation runs much deeper than just seeing Blue Diamond fancy Brooklyn Hustle resume at Caulfield on Saturday.

The Mornington trainer is fascinated to see how his runner at Thursday night's Racing.com Park (Pakenham) meeting performs.

Grinzinger Jakkal is a three-year-old half-brother to Melbourne Cup winner Efficient and steps out for the first time in the $35,000 Schweppes Maiden Plate over 1400 metres.

Like his most famous sibling, the son of Jakkalberry and Refused The Dance has shown staying tendencies and Warren is keen to see how he performs under race conditions.

"He's a lovely horse, but he may find the 1400 a little too short," Warren said.

"He's quite a European-staying type of horse, but he's a nice horse and I'm looking forward to kicking him off and seeing what we've got.

"Hopefully he might turn out to be a Derby horse."

It is closing in on 12 years since Efficient won the Melbourne Cup, 12 months after claiming the Victoria Derby, but Grinzinger Jakkal will be only the second product of the mare Refused The Dance to get to the races since Efficient, who is by Zabeel.

The other, Guillotine, has not raced since finishing 14th in the 2008 Caulfield Cup, three starts after the biggest win of his career; the Group 2 Dato' Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m).

Refused The Dance's only other named foal since Guillotine was a filly by Pour Moi, born the year before Grinzinger Jakkal, who is unraced.

In 2008 she gave birth to a filly by Encosta de Lago that died and she missed or failed to produce after six other matings between 2007 and 2011, including three attempts - with Danehill Dancer, Duke Of Marmalade and Fastnet Rock - in 2010.

"They had a lot of trouble getting her in foal and this guy is only the third male out of the mare," Warren said.

"He's been given plenty of time and hopefully that can be rewarded."

Grinzinger Jakkal, who will be ridden by Clayton Douglas, has drawn barrier eight for Thursday night's event, which will be run at 7:30pm.

Having his 3rd start tomorrow night over 1550m.

He is trained by Australiia's second biggest trainer.

I am sorry but our trainers are just not up to the task.

4 more starts and still yet to see 2000m and the winning post.

Yep, Our trainers know what they are doing.
