Who knows if it will measure up or not; but the win of the Gooree owned, Anthony Cummings trained Muy Bien on debut over 1200m at Kembla yesterday looked good.

By Encosta De Lago from the Zabeel stakes winner Matras.

Perhaps more a mile to mile and a half filly than a true stayer but time will tell, I guess.

I would love to see a conformational photo of this mare, Esteemed Elegance.

A mare with this pedigree is absolutely wasted in Australia.

Another one likely to be wasted in Australia.

You can not say Darley are not attempting to breed longer distance horses.

This is also in the maiden race that Esteemed Elegance kicks off her career.

Hey djebel, any chance you can put up the breeding of a filly I have a small share in who's having her first start at Kembla Grange on Saturday. I can bring up the pedigree but can't seem to copy it. Originally was to have been trained by Guy Walter and even got to spend a few week's orientation with him before he passed away. He has trained a fair few of the same family. Named Signature Miss (Authorized out of a Grand Lodge mare).

Now trained by Kerry Parker at Kembla.

Would appreciate any comments from the experts here about the staying pedigree. Thanks in advance.

Definitely bred to stay.  What's it's name?  Sire Authorized (Montjeu) is a staying sire.  Damsire Grand Lodge in a middle distance sire.  Granddamsire Noble Bijou is staying sire.

Signature Miss. The plan is to give her one or two starts this prep and hopefully come back for the autumn. Not much expected on Saturday other than an education. Although if the track remains heavy it might help get her a bit closer. It would be great if she passes a few in the straight.

Waterhouse has Donelle in the same race which should start at very, very skinny odds.

Considering the dam is a half to Niwot and you also have Balmerino through the dam side as well, combined with Authorized you prob won't see the best until 2000m. She is 3 now so good that she was held back. Her conformation will also be a good lead on how she will run.

I have an Authorized filly and she is built like a sprinter (Canny Lad mare). So despite being an Authorized, I can't see her getting 1600m. She is also really forward so likely to start at two.

Thanks for all your input. My mate bought the granddam in NZ in the mid 90's and he's kept the fillies and sells most of the colts. Too Darn Hot was a slow maturer (so much so that Guy used to call her Too Darn Slow) until Patrick Hogan walked past her at Warwick Farm one day and asked about her. When he was told she was a Noble Bijou filly who hadn't shown a lot, he said that Guy should stick with her because the breed just seem to "click" one day and show their potential.

She broke her maiden at 2,000m !! and went on to win 4 in town including a listed race. As noted was the dam of Niwot, my mate's claim to fame so far.

The deal with the horses he races is that all our mates get together and race them on a lease basis. He doesn't take any owner's percentage as long as Guy (back then) made all decisions regarding racing, retirement etc. At the end of their racing career he takes them back.

Muss, we came to the name on a vote basis. Miss Finn wasn't suggested but a few related ones were. My suggestion was "Sign Here".

Authorized's best three progeny are Sea Of Approval, Ambivalent and Bande.  Sea Of Approval is running the St Leger distance at Doncaster today, and the other two are travelling for the Spring Carnival.

How do you rate Complacent & Signoff at this end of the globe compared with the three you have noted Geraldo? My mate was pi$$ed off that Authorized was leased for a season to South America so missed out on an Australian campaign.

Mmm, I hope there are a few "very good" ones out there. "Explode on the scene" sounds confident. I hope it's not a 3yo filly!

The Authorized have some of the strangest quirks. They can be a bit hot, but they also tend to need their own time/space. Def not suited to a robot like production line with some trainers not likely to have the patience.

Will be a good year for them this year.
