All good news for America.

Trump has taken the opportunity to rid himself of the Weather Delusions and is winning his way to make America greater again.

Al Gore for President ,   wouldn't that be great.

The hottest day on record?
Not 2010, BUT 1828 at a blistering 53.9 °C
Back before man-made climate change was frying Australia, when CO2 was around 300ppm, the continent savoured an ideal pre-industrial climate…….. RIGHT?
This is the kind of climate we are spending $10bn per annum to get back to….. Right again?
We are told today’s climate has more records and more extremes than times gone by, but the few records we have from the early 1800’s are eye-popping.
Things were not just hotter, but so wildly hot it burst thermometers.
The earliest temperature records we have show that Australia was a land of shocking heatwaves and droughts, except for when it was bitterly cold or raging in flood.

In other words, nothing has changed, except possibly things might not be quite so hot now!
Silliggy (Lance Pidgeon) has been researching records from early explorers and from newspapers.
What he’s uncovered is fascinating! It’s as if history is being erased!

For all that we hear about recent record-breaking climate extremes, records that are equally extreme, and sometimes even more so, are ignored.

In January 1896 a savage blast “like a furnace” stretched across Australia from east to west and lasted for weeks.
The death toll reached 437 people in the eastern states.
Newspaper reports showed that in Bourke the heat approached 120°F (48.9°C) on three days.
Links to documentary evidence (1)(2)(3)
The maximum at or above 102 degrees F (38.9°C) for 24 days straight!
Use the several links below to read the news reports at the time for yourself ……
1. By Tuesday Jan 14, people were reported falling deadin the streets.
2. Unable to sleep, people in Brewarrina walked the streets at night for hours, thermometers recorded109F at midnight.
3. Overnight, the temperature did not fall below 103°F.
4. On Jan 18 in Wilcannia, five deaths were recorded in one day, the hospitals were overcrowdedand reports said that “more deaths are hourly expected”.
5. By January 24, in Bourke, many businesses had shut down (almost everything bar the hotels).
6. Panic stricken Australians were fleeing to the hills in climate refugee trains.

As reported at the time, the government felt the situation was so serious that to save lives and ease the suffering of its citizens they added cheaper train services:
What I found most interesting about this was the skill, dedication and length of meteorological data taken in the 1800′s. When our climate is “the most important moral challenge” why is it there is so little interest in our longest and oldest data?
Who knew that one of the most meticulous and detailed temperature records in the world from the 1800′s comes from Adelaide, largely thanks to Sir Charles Todd.

The West Terrace site in Adelaide was one of the best in the world at the time, and provides accurate historic temperatures from “Australia’s first permanent weather bureau at Adelaide in 1856″.

Rainfall records even appear to go as far back as 1839. Lance Pidgeon went delving into the National Archives and was surprised at what he found.
The media are in overdrive, making out that “the extreme heat is the new normal” in Australia.
The Great Australian Heatwave of January 2013 didn’t push the mercury above 50C at any weather station in Australia, yet it’s been 50C (122F) and hotter in many inland towns across Australia over the past century.
See how many are in the late 1800′s and early to mid 1900′s.
You can’t blame those high records on man-made global warming!

Wisdom has been chasing me but I've always outrun it!

Hopefully this'll hit some of the worst drought affected areas & if not these systems, those following Big smile

"Everything is still on track, we are going to see one of the all time strong upper lows hit Southern Australia, the likes we might not see anytime soon, unless it this coming few months.

We have a country that is primed with heat and humidity, and at some point the response was always going to come back from the other directions.

At the moment, we have a positive pHAse of the Antarctic Oscillation, however you wouldn’t know it by looking at what is going on.

We have huge lower pressure North of us, that generally means a positive AAO, and allow the systems to head South, as has been happening.

Normally, lower pressure in the South doesn’t develop until high pressure develops through the North, but this time is different because the climate is now being forced.

We have so much water vapour leaking in from he tropics, its exploding these troughs and causing them to amplify when they normally would stay well South.

There was also a huge spike in the Ozone Hole recently, I think the relationship between it and the AAO is little known, but is having a huge impact.

Because there is no way that this is anything near normal, we don’t normally see cut offs in the upper levels become this intense in November."

This could have something to do with it but time will no doubt tell the tale.

Moving along to the Canadian model, this model is the most bullish of all the models, but there is what it is forecasting as far as the upper troughs go.

it has now decided we will see 4 system, not 2, the first one is split into 2, with a dumbbell low morning into the main one on Friday through Victoria.

Then it has the follow up on Saturday into Sunday gaining strength, and then brings through yet another one late next Tuesday into Wednesday.

And then, just because you can never get enough troughs in a Positive AAO Phase, it develops another one at the end of the run next Thursday week.

This is astounding behaviour, and does verify what I said about cooling global temps making the troughs much stronger through the upper levels.

France's climate change commitments trigger rising prices, fuel tax protests; 1 dead, scores injured

One protester was killed and 227 other people were injured — eight seriously — at roadblocks set up around villages, towns and cities across France on Saturday as citizens angry with rising fuel taxes rose up in a grassroots movement, posing a new challenge to beleaguered President Emmanuel Macron.

Police officers lobbed tear gas canisters at demonstrators on the famed Champs-Elysees Avenue in Paris as groups of "yellow jackets," as the protesters called themselves, tried to make their way to the presidential Elysee Palace. Later, hundreds of protesters entered the bottom of the street dotted with luxury shops where the palace is located — and where Macron lives — before being pushed back by security forces with shields.

In a similar scenario, police cleared out the huge traffic circle around the Arc de Triomphe, paralyzed for hours by protesters

French Interior Ministry officials counted nearly 283,000 protesters, mostly peaceful, throughout the day at more than 2,000 sites, some setting bonfires or flying balloons.

However, some demonstrations turned violent. In Troyes, southeast of Paris, about 100 people invaded the prefecture, the local representation of the state, damaging the inside, Interior Ministry officials said. In Quimper, in Brittany, security forces used water cannon to disperse hostile protesters.

The protester who died, a 63-year-old woman, was killed when a driver caught in the blockade accelerated in a panic at Pont-de-Beauvoisin, near Chambery, in eastern France, according to Louis Laugier, the prefect, or top state official, in the Savoie region. A confrontation with protesters "got heated up for no reason" and the driver accelerated her minivan after "people started rattling her car," a protester who witnessed the incident told BFMTV, identifying himself only as Philippe. He said the woman told them she was taking her daughter to a doctor.

An investigation into the death was opened.

Eight of the 227 people injured were in serious condition, ministry officials said at an evening briefing, without providing details. A police officer and a firefighter who intervened when protesters attacked a closed service station were among the eight.

A total of 117 people were arrested with 73 of them held for questioning.

The protesters had pledged to target tollbooths, roundabouts and other strategic traffic sites. They called themselves "yellow jackets" because most were wearing the fluorescent yellow vests that must be kept in vehicles of all French drivers in case of car troubles.

The daughter of the woman killed called for calm as she protested in Cavaillon, in southern France.

"I really want people not to let themselves become submerged by anger," Alexandrine Mazet told RTL radio. "The yellow jackets must understand this is a peaceful movement," she said. The young woman appeared later on BFMTV still wearing her yellow vest.

The nationwide protest was unusual because it arose from within the citizenry, backed neither by unions nor politicians, although some took part in a clear bid for supporters. It was unclear whether the upstart movement, without a leader, would survive, and what problems it might pose for Macron.

The grassroots nature of the protests, which drew supporters angry over an array of issues, made it a political hot potato for Macron's government. Security officials treaded lightly, ordering police to use dialogue rather than force but to stop protesters from completely blocking major routes or endangering lives or property. About 30 canisters of tear gas were fired to disperse protesters at the entrance of the Mont Blanc tunnel.

"They have sent a message," Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said. "It is heard. The government is attentive to all demonstrations and, of course, we must continue to answer the expectations of the French including those about their purchasing power."

The planned increase in fuel taxes, notably for diesel fuel, spoke to those French who feel the president has asked ordinary citizens to make the largest efforts in his bid to transform France. Those French who have a hard time making ends meet often rely on cheaper diesel fuel.

Macron wants to close the gap between the price of diesel fuel and gasoline as part of his strategy to wean France off fossil fuels. A "carbon trajectory" calls for continued increases. Taxes on diesel fuel have risen 7 euro cents (nearly 8 U.S. cents) and are to keep climbing in the coming years, Transport Minister Elisabeth Borne has said. The tax on gasoline is to increase 4 euro cents.

Many drivers see this as emblematic of a presidency they view as disconnected from day-to-day economic difficulties and serving the rich.

Macron's popularity has plunged, hovering around 30 percent.

Robert Tichit, 67, a retiree, referred to the president as "King Macron."

"We've had enough of it. There are too many taxes in this country," he said.

More than 1,000 protesters congregated at the Place de la Concorde at the bottom of the Champs-Elysees, shouting "Macron resign" as police looked on.

The world's largest battery system is being introduced in California

Tesla and PG&E team up on the world's largest battery system

California just made a historic vote that will continue to help the state move away from fossil fuels. After a 4-1 vote last week, the California Public Utilities Commission approved Pacific Gas & Electric's proposal to replace three natural-gas power plants with utility-grade lithium-ion batteries from Tesla.

To make this happen, it involves four separate energy storage projects, two of which will become the largest battery systems in the world. It's the first time a utility and its regulators have replaced power plants with a renewable energy source. No word on how much the project will cost altogether.

Commissioner Liane Randolph called the vote “only one step in the broader challenge we face in managing the state’s fossil fuel fleet.”

According to Bloomberg, the CPUC ordered PG&E, California's largest utility company, to figure out how to replace the soon to be retiring Calpine Corp. gas plants — suggesting they consider a clean energy alternative like battery storage. Energy storage has been a major component in decreasing California’s reliance on gas for years and analysts report the cost of the batteries is likely cheaper than continuing to operate the plants.

Image: DAVID MONNIAUX/WIKIMEDIA COMMONS

PG&E received roughly 100 proposals for land usage near the Moss Landing Power Plant where Tesla and PG&E have proposed their project be built. The 500-foot twin smokestacks are well known in the region and have been out of use since 2017, though have continued to be of use to boaters who use them for navigation Moss Landing Harbor.

The four battery projects include a 183-megawatt facility south of San Jose, California, that will be designed and built by Tesla and owned by PG&E. Vistra Energy Corp. is planning a 300-megawatt installation; Hummingbird Energy Storage LLC is developing a 75-megawatt project; and Micronoc Inc. plans to install 10 megawatts of capacity at customer locations.

PG&E will buy the energy capacity from the other projects, but the Tesla project is the only one that PG&E is outright buying, meaning Tesla will charge them for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC).

Couple of things about Jo Nova. First she's a microbiologist. She's never published a thing on climate science, though she did work with Shell for a few yearsWink

But she's not completely stupid, here's her on global warming:

"carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas and that adding more to it will warm the planet, yes, absolutely, that's all well proven solid science known for years, yes. I have no disagreement with any of that. Disagreement is with how much warming there is"

Like Curry, like Lindzen, she's actually closer to the IPPC than to the deniers she's courting (who refuse to accept any human involvement). They're just too dumb to see it, and she's cashing in. Useful idiots, you might say.

Like Curry, like Lindzen, she's actually closer to the IPPC than to the deniers she's courting (who refuse to accept any human involvement). They're just too dumb to see it, and she's cashing in. Useful idiots, you might say.

Don't listen to 97% of the world's climatologists- listen to someone with zero credentials in climate research whose major publication is Serious Science Party Tricks.
An honest politician is one who when he is bought will stay bought.

Though to be fair she did contribute to a book from the IPA (titter) about climate change last year. One of the co-authors was Ken Ring, a former school magician whose best known work was “Pawmistry: How to Read Your Cat’s Paws”...I kid you not.

About time Climate Change was added to the list of different God's we humans fight over.

How stupid when you stop and think.

These fixed ideas of madness, overtake us to the point where life & limb is less important than some delusional belief that hasn't been able to come up with answers / proof over centuries.

Global Warming , WOT chit .   It gets warmer every Summer.
