Young(ish) Josh certainly has potential, but is fighting out of his weight division in this portfolio. But anything to please Truffles.
Weatherall certainly enjoyed a unanimous TKO decision over Josh following today's ill-matched contest.

Talk about bringing your footy cards to a poker game. Big J in da house.
Now I just have to convince him to construct a large garbage bin for radioactive waste.

Really? I'm sorry Supertramp, I respect your spin doctoring skills above all, but you can't alter the facts this time ... even the ABC had to cover this pathetic excuse for a man having a major meltdown! Jay Weatherill has just stalked Josh Frydnberg, gatecrashed his press conference, had a hissy fit, threw all the toys out of the cot, and blamed everyone else except Jay Weatherill for the fcuk up that is known to everyone as South Australia's energy crisis ... it was like watching a train wreck!!! We've seen the ALP Machine in desperation mode many times before, but this one will be leading the high light reel for a loooooong time to come ... the scary thing was that it all looked planned ... what an embarrassment

Sorry Doc, gatecrash or not Weatherall by a unanimous TKO over an ill-matched young tyro.

He's certainly flushed them out has Jay. The Federal Govt has been content to do nothing but play politics, apportion blame and wave rocks around in Parliament on this issue, and since the SA plan in the space of a couple of days they've made two major announcements on energy security. Well done Premier.

A V Weather, one of his favourites but my thoughts too, why?
evening. On a completely unrelated matter, here is a great idea, lets put 4 doppler radars in SW WA, and leave half of the country with no radar service at all. Thats is a fantastic use of our tax payers dollars. I swear they have let the crazies out of the asylum and they are running the country. Anyway, back to matters at hand. |

I've always wondered what desalinated water would taste like ...
I guess we should be grateful that we only have to pay $4 million a week to keep the Kurnell desalination plant open for the next 50 years, and that I will never get a chance to taste a drop of the stuff ... of course, we can't afford a nuclear reactor or a coal fired power station (or even a refurbished one!).
... anyway, please piss off rain, bring on the glorious global frigging warming we were promised!!!

When I see so much water going to waste, and then see the water bill, it makes me think WTF is going on here . Seriously ! We had the nouse to create the Snowy Hydro scheme, but we are letting millions of gallons of water go to waste down the drains. every time it rains Then, 6 months later , farmers are struggling with drought !! Surely there is some bod smart enough to work out how to take the water going to waste down the drains, and put it to good use ??? If they could re route the waters of the Snowy, why cant they do the same for all this water on the coast , and put it to use for farmers in drought ??

Agree 100% Sad part is the government won't do a thing because it costs money and a lot of work and they know the farmers are a strong breed and will buy water to keep the farms going. |

Why dont you use your desal plants?
We have three here in the west, all in use. If we were relying on the dams or bores we would be stuffed. You would be really surprised how much industry uses. This is kept quiet. A few years ago, Colin Barnett wanted to pipe or canal water down from the Kimberleys, the Ord dam, but was howled down. Its all political again...just dont learn.

A $1.1 million aquarium, built to showcase the underwater treasures of Ningaloo Reef, is standing empty of fish and water in Exmouth because of fears it is not safe to hold marine life.
The aquarium is part of the $32 million international tourism and research hub, the Ningaloo Centre, the development of which led to a corruption watchdog investigation and the suspension of the Shire of Exmouth council.Mr Fletcher said the Corruption and Crime Commission inquiry also led to the sacking of former chief executive Bill Price and an officer working on the project. “The issue with the centre is that, as was made clear in the public hearings of the CCC, there were inappropriate procurement mechanisms taken in some areas including the aquarium. There was another quote which was never considered,” he said.Mr Price was accused of awarding a $1.1 million contract to build the centre’s aquarium without proper authorisation from council or calling for tenders. Mr Fletcher said the current issues with the aquarium stemmed from the fact the Ningaloo Centre was originally planned to built on the canal in Exmouth. “It’s not now on the canal. There was a land swap. So basically a tanker was going to be purchased to the tune of $60,000 and it was going to provide sea water once or twice a week to this aquarium,” he said. “Alec Coles, the director of WA Museum, I sought his advice and he asked the question, ‘well where’s the ocean inflow and outflow?’ There is none. So that’s the first question I have, is it safe to have a tanker providing new seawater once or twice a week? Can you recognise the politisisation and subsequent corruption? Thats the sort of rubbish going on everywhere. |

Warragamba Dam is currently at 97% capacity and the flood gates are open most of the time! ... it hasn't stopped raining since that unqualified climate fraud Tim Flannery told us we would never see enough rain to fill our dams again, and our idiot politicians spent billions to build plants. NSW taxpayers are contracted to pay HALF A MILLION DOLLARS A DAY FOR 50 YEARS to maintain our White Elephant on standby - Total cost about $10 BILLION, whilst we actually need NO DESALINATED WATER and the thing has not produced a drop of water since 2012 ... ... but the science is clear, indisputable, and 97% of climate scientists agree! ... BULLgelati!

The history of the NSW desal plant, water security, and Flannery's comments, were discussed long before you unleashed your hysterical ignorance on this topic. Feel free to trawl back over the thread and educate yourself, or simply google each topic and do a few hours reading. A warning - the information is not black and white. For example state of the environment reports are rightly very nuanced.
You appear to have great trouble finding information so let me help you get started with the Flannery thing: https://indifferencegivesyouafright.wordpress.com/2012/08/06/tim-flannery-did-not-say-australias-dams-would-never-fill-again/ Also don't be shy, give us your rundown on the recent history, and likely future, of rainfall over the Australian continent. Here's a trend map which might help: http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/change/index.shtml#tabs=Tracker&tracker=trend-maps&tQ=map%3Drain%26area%3Daus%26season%3D0112%26period%3D1970 Plenty more on that website (and numerous others) to fill that empty vessel if you're really interested in what is a complex topic.

Non-ideological Abbott wants to keep the world's dirtiest power station open that the perfidious ideological French are going to close with a bit of good old fashioned Coalition socialism- $1billion taxpayer funding.
This bloke is a genius. Why were we so unkind when he was PM?

And a big thumbs up for Abbott from his former chief adviser Peta Credlin. "If we need to spend $2 billion on new Snowy power, why shut down Vic's Hazelwood?" Ah, I'll put on my thinking cap, Peta. World's dirtiest power station v hydroelectric power. Hmm, it's a puzzler. No, can't see any reason at all- it's a no-brainer, which Tony and you specialise in. You can see how committed those two dodos were to reducing carbon emissions.

Snowy 2 is nothing more than a diversionary thought bubble. Like Barnyard's "decentralisation" it has no science, economics or detail behind it.
