Sounds like a giant leftie(used to be righty) conspiracy Afros.
Those were great times going to the pool every afternoon after school to cool off. The public pool was right next to our school on the way home and a season pass was only $5

When I was a child and went to the public pool a lot I used to think that when the smell of chlorine was strongest the pool was super hygienic. Wrong! The stronger the chlorine smell the more people are p1ssing in the pool- or worse in the kiddy pool.

It isn't hot by past standards .
Most areas are repeating what hit us 5 years ago , & 5 years before that & 5 years before that. Oodnadatta 1960 was a stinker. 2013 was hotter than now in OZ. Florida 1913 hottest on record ... All Those Coal fires & Poofy Trains. |

Just a question. If you where one of the 70% of the worlds population that has NO access to electricity would you be too concerned about how it was being generated ? And secondly, would you be happier sitting around waiting for the more expensive / less reliable renewable option while your neighbor has his from a coal fired power plant ?

Millions of urban Africans still don’t have electricity: here’s what can be doneDecentralised renewablesDecentralised renewable energy technologies offer an important solution for “under-the-grid” electrification. They are simple, fast and agile. They have short installation times, and offer a reliable electricity service for informal settlements. Pay-as-you-go solar systems and appliances, for example, can provide a much lower barrier to entry. Compared to the high upfront connection costs noted earlier in Kenya, a 15-watt solar home system costs on average USD $9 per month for 36 months after which point the household owns its system. The renewable energy sector recognises this under-the-grid market. In fact, about 35% of solar lighting product sales in Kenya are made in peri-urban areas. And it’s a good bet. Evidence shows that the willingness to pay for decentralised renewables is much higher than a grid connection because they are seen as more reliable. Policies to support decentralised technologies include: integrated energy planning that incorporates these solutions, adopting and enforcing product quality control standards and providing financial incentives – like reduced import duties for products or local loan and grant programs. https://theconversation.com/millions-of-urban-africans-still-dont-have-electricity-heres-what-can-be-done-92211 |

Too many Australians don't have electricity either.
Too costly to turn it on. |

They are lucky in Kenya - the sun shines at night, and even when it is cloudy and raining - oh wait ... it doesn't.
Thousands of new Nuclear and Coal Fired Power plants being built around the world, and we are "saving the planet" by blowing up our SIX (6) plants, and OVER spending BILLIONS on "Unreliables" ... we are flush with "Useful Idiots".

We have covered this before, and all of the evidence is there - AGL is Australia's biggest coal exporter - AGL is also closing down Liddel because they make more money from subsidised "unreliables" than they do coal ... accordingly, they claim that Liddel is worthless, yet, they won't sell it? ... take away the subsidies and there would not be a windmill or a single solar panel on a roof in this country, and our energy prices would be close to the cheapest in the world, not the most expensive ... can you explain why there are thousands of Coal Fired power plants being commissioned around the world, whilst our heavily renewables subsidised industry is blowing them up ... is it money, do ya think???

Of course this is happening throughout the developed world, even Trump’s America. Providers and investors looking to the future- and it ain’t coal. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/coal-use-continues-to-decline-in-the-u-s/ |

What do we expect the life expectancy of state of the art coal fired power plants that are being built now and into the future around the world will be? Will they need coal? Will the existing ones also need coal? Is coal dead? Are Labor and Bill Shorten just hypocritical opportunistic liars, pandering to the Greens then?

A blunt post on reality Doc. Disturbing that so many fools can't grasp what you are saying , . While our southern States are shxtting themselves about not being able to power their part of this Sunburnt country. It isn't Global warming , it is the Australian Summer. > Like that part of the weather cycle we have had with us for ever. |

Didn't they also say that Victoria are getting power sent to them as per normal arrangements from SA, who haven't had to turn on any of their diesel generators to take up the extra load because they are generating more than enough from their wind power?

HELLO!!! CNNPT !!! REALITY CHECK!!!
... BLACKOUTS IN VICTORIA BECAUSE THEY RELY ON UNRELIABLES, I MEAN RENEWABLES! btw, SA and VIC are sucking power from NSW to limit their blackouts - seems that the wind was blowing in SA though ... just TOO HARD, they had to switch off the windmills!!!

I am old enough to remember when the Lieberal Party were calling a state of emergency over blackouts in SA. Now only 2 years later in a record heatwave they are pumping power interstate to prop up Victoria.
More batteries and windmills is the clear clean message here.

Vic demolished their coal fire powered plants and are now paying the price. Still they are croaking renewables saved them today. Labor never learn and their supporters deserve what they are getting. |
