Rusty, the ALP, albeit more moderately,  like Get Up and the Greens are from the left of politics.

Fair call.
You did state the left.
I thought you stated ALP.

Get Up will support any cause it's member choose to finance. Just that there aren't many worthy right wing causes. They do support freedom of speech campaigns.

Whale can you give me some examples of where the Coalition has got down in the gutter, as in my post, like  Shorten, Keating , Get up and the Greens ?

BTW the article about Shorten's mother was raised by a newspaper, not by  the Coalition.

Talking about Far Right Nutters, received a flier from Cory Bernardi in the mail the other day.

His very first headline: thousands of asylum seekers died when Labor was in office

Perhaps they did, but certainly not in Southern Hemisphere waters.  This is the type of cr@p we have to put up with, and even worse because too many Ozzie d1ckheads will actually take him at his word and lay sad Mediterranean deaths at Labor's feet.

FactCheck: did 1200 refugees die at sea under Labor?
theconversation.com/factcheck-did-1200-refugees-die-at-sea-under-labor-38094

Mar 2, 2015 - It is broadly correct to say 1200 asylum seekers died at sea under Labor ... The Australian Border Deaths Database is maintained by the Border etc.

But less than 100 in Australian waters. The others died quite some distance north of our continent.

And if you use the same data source, 850 died in the six years the Coalition has been in office.

Stangely, the latter doesn't appear in Cory's flier.  Shocked

Refugee policy, be it that of the Coalition or Labor, is entirely irrelevant in terms of the unfortunate demise of asylum seekers.

If you or anyone else can't understand and accept that reality, sobeit.

Here's the bloke the Liberal Party is giving its preferences to:
Clive Palmer gag clause: QN workers told to make no ‘disparaging comments’ if they want entitlements

Exclusive: Queensland Nickel workers asked to sign ‘deed of release’ documents in order to be paid

The United Australia party leader, Clive Palmer. Queensland Nickel workers are being told to sign a document including a gag clause stopping them from criticising Palmer in exchange for their entitlements.

Former Queensland Nickel workers are being told to sign a document gagging them from making any disparaging comments about Clive Palmer in exchange for receiving their outstanding entitlements.

When the company collapsed in 2016, it owed about $300m to creditors, including local businesses and the federal government, which covered the entitlements of many workers. It is estimated workers are still owed about $7m.

Giri Sivaraman, an employment lawyer from Maurice Blackburn acting on behalf of former QN workers, claimed some had been desperate for the money and had signed the agreement.

“Some of them are very concerned about giving up their rights,” he said.

Sivaraman said the clauses asked workers to waive their rights in order to be paid money to which they had been entitled for three years. Those rights included making comments about a prominent candidate at the federal election.

“They’ve got to agree to a complete gag,” Sivaraman said. “As a matter of law you shouldn’t have to give away your rights to engage in political debate.”

Guardian Australia has contacted Iskander, who is administering the trust and is responsible for assessing claims and processing payments, several times since Tuesday morning. He has not returned calls.

After a years-long advertising blitz, Palmer’s United Australia party will have an influence on Saturday’s election result, particularly in Queensland seats where the preference flows from minor parties will be critical.

In the Townsville seat of Herbert, where most of the former QN workers still live, polling has shown the UAP with between 7% and 14% of the primary vote. The candidate in the ultra-marginal seat, former rugby league player Greg Dowling, is directing preferences to the Liberal National party.

So you choose to ignore the legal team acting for the workers, and the claims by the workers themselves.

How very but totally unsurprisingly convenient of you.  Dead

Hang on, In many court settlements a litigant regularly agrees to forgo some of their legal rights in order to achieve a settlement.

So that excuses Palmer's action?  Sign this or you get f#ck all of what's due to you?

Not only disgraceful, but also suggests something about you Bob.

ps this is not analogous with a court settlement.  It's a blatant threat.

Second Chance ,I am not arguing on behalf of Palmer, only pointing out how his legal team have manipulated the legal system to silence the workers once they accepted their terms of settlement.
As far as The Guardian , I gave up reading any of their left wing bias sometime ago, so when I saw reference to that on-line rag I stopped reading.
BTW when you posted that article you made no reference to your source I wonder why ?
