What a pathetically failed Government we've had for six years now.  This from News believe it or not: Shocked

Australian inflation is at zero, in a huge sign something has gone horribly wrong in the economy.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported that the change in consumer prices between the start of January and the end of March was 0.0 per cent. The failure to record any inflation is a sign of an economy operating well below its potential.

The Australian dollar plunged after the news and pressure is mounting on the Reserve Bank of Australia to act.

ps the sub-editor who allowed the above to be published will undoubtedly be in the unemployment queue at Centrelink come Monday morning.  Cry

But at least he'll have about three weeks start on six or seven LNP ex-pollies.  Big smile

So tell us SC, in a slowing economy, what would the best economic strategy be?

Here's a hint.

$200 Billion worth of extra punitive job and aspiration crushing taxes on top of Wealth Destroying Property Taxes and Retiree Taxes would be a fail.Dead

All of the Labor Government policies are designed to deliver a recession by Christmas ... all of their policies are designed to deliver one.

You understand that Labor is more concerned about this economic data than the Libs, don't you?

Do you really think that the Australian people are so stupid as to trust Bullgelati Bill and Where's Bowen with a softening economy ...

No Labor will just keep up with their MediSCARE campaign, because if they don't Lie, they can't win.

Hey Doc I’ve recently asked my Liberal friends a simple question which they can’t seem to answer, so I’ve come to ask you, as an expert on these matters, if that’s ok?
What was Australia’s debt when the Libs last took over, and what is it now.?

Doc is on maternity leave ....I'm the OIC of LNP support.t'day.

The Labor Party left with contracts locked in for LNP to take 6 years to honour & get back to surplus .        NBN was a waste of course & renewable costs caused further deficit.
The BILL they left , we couldn't afford and the Bonking Bill they offer is less palatable.
VOTE LNP & SAVE us.

Barnaby Joyce in 2010, when net govt debt was 6% of GDP:
"We're going into hock to our eyeballs to people overseas ... We are getting to a point where we can't repay it."
Net debt today is 200% higher at 19% of GDP

maxie, after 6 years of chaos and burgeoning debt under this 3 PM govt, how long after Labor is elected do you predict that debt will suddenly become the greatest threat to our futures again?

Glad you askedSOfton ... it's refreshing to find a brainwashed leftie who actually has an interest in numbers and ekermoronics!Big smile

Would you like that as a percentage of GDP for the sake of relevance, or are you just wanting to go "Rrrreeeeee!!!" about something?Confused

Listen, yes I do know the answer, but you can look it up either way, so I'll leave that to you!Wink

I do understand your point though ... it sure has taken a long time to fix the LABOR/ GREENS ECONOMIC CLUSTER FCUK that left behind!!Ouch

Yep, Libs had a few unfunded Labor Party promises to fulfil, didn't they!

Firstly, they had to approve some pesky PBS requests for LIFE SAVING DRUGS that Bill Short-on-Money REFUSED TO PAY FOR ... hope nobody died as a result of Bill.Embarrassed

Then there was the NDIS, then they have INCREASED SPENDING on HEALTH AND EDUCATION EVERY YEAR.

It's Ok Softy ... everything is paid for, even though the Labor crossbench rejected every economic reform that the Government ever put up ... anyway, how has it affected your wealth and lifestyle? ... let me help, just like all Australian Citizens, you've never had it better!Thumbs Up

... and now we are BACK IN THE BLACK BABY!!! ... with a plan to retire all debt in 10 years!Clap

While we have your attention, here's a couple for you and the other Leftards ...

How much does it cost to send a $900 cheque to a dead person or a dog?

How much is a $1 million School Hall worth?

What is the life of an unregulated Pink Batt installer worth?

How much time and money and resources does it cost to process 50,000 undocumented refugees? ... what is the value of one of their lives worth when they DROWN AT SEA?

... and in case you get through that lot;

How much will Labor's Negative Gearing Policy Changes cost the average Homeowner?

How much will that policy raise in revenue ... remember, they been exposed and admit that they have used DUD DATA for 5 YEARS and have been DEFRAUDING THE PUBLIC WITH THAT LIE ALL ALONG ... until they recently removed it from their website and Chris Bowen was placed in Protective Custody.Dead

Explain the "FAIRNESS" of STEALING RETIREE'S TAX REFUNDS under their FRANKING CREDITS FRAUD POLICY, when anyone earning over $37k p.a. will maintain their benefits???Shocked

... if you get this far, how about a single explanation of the costing and how it will be paid for, on ANY of these LABOR/GREENS FANTASY POLICIES OF ENVY...

CARBON TAX

ELECTRIC CARS

CLIMATE CHANGE

CHILD CARE

CANCER CURE ... etc, etc

Oh, and FOR or AGAINST ADANI????LOL

Another great idea.

The National Tertiary Education Union is campaigning for Labor to fix the "free rider" problem by charging non-union members a bargaining fee when they are covered by a union agreement.
Senior officials from the union have been urging federal MPs and candidates to support legislative changes to address the long-running issue of workers enjoying the pay and conditions of a union-bargained enterprise agreement without having to join a union.

Oh Dummy, at least you’re a trier!

we’ve done this before,(remember we had to teach you GDP was the measure, not the value of a two bedder at Condell Park) .
as a percentage of GDP, it’s the highest it’s been in your lifetime.

Which is a bad thing, especially when your Treasurer declared he’d be back in black 6 years ago.....

So does that mean that all of those who were ripped off by Bill Shorten when he was a Union Leader negotiating worse enterprise "bargaining" deals for workers, but great deals for Unions, will ALL be entitled to retrospective refunds?Embarrassed

Poor old Doc just can’t fathom maths.

Someone asks him how much has debt grown under this incompetent Government.
Now,he knows it’s more than doubled, so that’s bad.
So he suggests it should be looked at as a % of GDP for relevance.

Only problem, as a % of GDP is still TERRIBLE!!

Try again you silly Billy!

Hey Doc, why you looking for Bowen?

You should be worried about where the entire front bench of the Government is hiding.

Here’s a hint, they are all either despised(and thus electorate poison) or quitting this rabble.
