Very few of those arriving by plane are likely to drown at sea, are they ... just in case you missed the whole reason for the deterrents, as the Labor/Greens ... sorry, I mean GREENS/labor Party have. Don't worry, they are all moving into Double Bay, Vaucluse, Seaforth, and Balgowlah once they are processed anyway!

So why did Bill have to bend over forward and allow the Greens to violate him, and every Labor MP in a marginal seat? ... for the fun of it? ... to show what a Great Leader of The Opposition he is? ... because he is a spineless puppet?

Volume one must have been released.
Scomo,Dutton et al, are clearly copying the script.....to absurd lengths. The only thing stopping that idiot Abbot, chiming in and completely f***ing up the works,is that unbelievably, even these numpties have worked out he has zero credibility. |

Financial Review-Ipsos poll: Coalition closes in on Labor 51:49The Morrison government has moved to within striking distance of Labor in the latest The Australian Financial Review-Ipsos poll, which shows the gap has closed to where it was before the party moved against Malcolm Turnbull. The poll shows the government trailing Labor on a two-party preferred basis by 51 per cent to 49 per cent, an improvement of 3 percentage points for the government since the last poll taken before Christmas, which had Labor leading by 54 per cent to 46 per cent. The parties were previously this close in July last year, a month before the coup was instigated against Mr Turnbull. The unrest saw the government's vote fall and it stayed low after Scott Morrison supplanted Mr Turnbull as leader. The poll shows Labor's primary vote fell 4 points over the summer to 33 per cent, while the Coalition's rose 2 points to 38 per cent. The Greens remain steady at 13 per cent. The poll of 1200 voters was taken from Wednesday night to Friday night last week in the midst of a pitched battle over border protection policy. This was caused by Labor siding with the Greens and independents to roll the government in the lower house on legislation, making it easier for asylum seekers to be transferred to Australia for medical treatment. https://www.afr.com/news/politics/financial-reviewipsos-poll-coalition-closes-in-on-labor-5149-20190217-h1bcqo?&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=nc&eid=socialn%3Afac-14omn0053-optim-nnn%3Anonpaid-25%2F06%2F2014-social_traffic-all-organicpost-nnn-afr-o&campaign_code=nocode&promote_channel=social_facebook&fbclid=IwAR1xtg6v5A11CssU8oLsRAvXzsA0vhRqV_L9GE-Q39QSi5Er3bRbNM-Yd7U |

I genuinely worry that this medivac bill may give Rupie and his media army an in to undermine the ALPs campaign by playing on peoples fears and insecurities and maybe give their mates another term.
The US citizen and his control of the media landscape is the biggest threat to democracy in this country. |

Let's hope it's not just another MediScare Campaign!
I think it's funny Afros, that you feel that the right control the media, whilst conservatives are sure that the mainstream media is Green ...

I know many people who live west of the divide, and have to travel up to 500Ks for medical treatment, are right now wondering why they cant get 1 to 7 ratio of doctors in their area. But they, they are just tax paying Australians. Why worry about them ? Pour the dollars into illegal refos. If those doctors who are supporting this took the time out to support Aussies in outback regions they might come across as more plausible..

Not sure of your point.
Is it that the federal government are so incompetent! They are literally throwing tens millions away on doctors that are not needed. Or the conditions are so insufferable that unheard of numbers of doctors are required, due to the inhumane conditions in which the government contains these refugees ? |

C'mon now, everyone knows how much of the media Rupie owns and anyone can see it gives him power to set the news agenda and control the news cycle. Look at last years political executions of Barnaby Joyce and Malcolm Turnbull as an example. Kayo Sports is another example, owned by Rupie and as soon as it dropped glowing reviews came out via sources such as The Australian, The Courier Mail, The Melbourne Herold and the Sydney Telegraph. Rupie is a known conservative, any claims of left wing bias in our media are frankly perpostuous, perhaps the source of these allegations is Rupies company themselves. Regardless of his political position however surely we can all agree that one company having such control over the media landscape is terrible for the country? Especially when headed by a man who abandoned his citizenship here to take up US citizenship? |

Are the Libs still paying people smugglers? Tones claimed he was paying them to stay away, will ScoMo start paying them to come? This Paladin scandal will be devastating if it all comes out. If Labor are fair dinkum they will campaign on a Royal Commission into this. Estimates will be interesting this week although I dont expect too many questions to be answered a lot of stuff ''taken on notice'' to kick it along. Who is Karen Dutton?

This is why we need an independent media that reports on both sides equally and impartially, Rupies angle on this will likely be 'the LNP have been naughty little boys BUT LABOR WILL LET IMMIGRANTS IN TO TAKE YOUR LIFESTYLE AND BLUDGE ON THE WELFARE YOUR TAXES FUND!!!!!!!!!!!'

Has he ever met Peter O'Niell, or is he just a coffee boy?
Has he ever met anyone from the former Blackwater, or current Black Swan Security? Very troubling connections. |

There are 70,000 odd thousand medical practitioners in Australia, as many as 13,000 of whom work in regional, rural or remote areas. Clearly the handful of doctors servicing Nauru etc wouldn't make one iota of difference to patient/doctor ratios or waiting times were they relocated to country Australia. But they can make a difference in detention centres. |

I'm sick of politics full stop. It's all doom and gloom against each other. Do your job and stop trying to say you will after your elected. You have had four years. Why only now or later? Stop the sob stories. Don't you see your inviting the people smugglers yourself - or is that the plan all along. THen of cause blame the other guy yet again. Grow up people. Your all to blame because you have to learn to work together and get Australia working again.

You’ve clearly missed my implying that you’re statements are childish and racist. How can you be so uninformed not to understand that there is no such thing as an illegal refugee? There’s nothing so dumb as a racist....... |

carry on. all i am saying is where my rellies live they have no hospital and have to travel almost 250ks ( one way ) just to see a Doctor, and that is in NSW. for specialised treatment, like for example , chemo , they have to leave home and either live away for weeks, in Sydney or Newcsatle, or travel round trip 700Ks each time, because there is a real lack of Drs and medical services in many rural areas. Yet here we have the citified Drs lining up to service the people of naru. They could do some fly in fly out work in NSW and help those people , who work and pay taxes, instead of dedicating their time and efforts to off shore illegals. if you think regional/rural NSW is properly serviced by enough Drs, second chance, you are running in blinkers. If that makes me racist so be it. Bring out my hood and fiery cross by all means.

Please do me the courtesy of reading my post AA.
Nowhere did I say that there were enough doctors in rural Australia. What I did say is that the relative handful of doctors servicing detention centres, if re-deployed to rural Australia, would make absolutely no difference to the problems faced by regional Australians. That's fact, simple as.
