and the fossil fuels will not be disappearing any time soon, with ads/backing like this

Think steel.

BHP's Australian operations provide the iron ore and coal needed to create the steel that goes into buildings, schools, hospitals, bridges and transport for growing cities around the world

Despite its apparent success in Trump tweets, temporary PM Morrison will soon realize that fake news doesn't really work in Oz.  Here's a trivial but typical example courtesy of The Age:

This column does not usually have to verify too many statements by political leaders but there has been conjecture raised over a claim made by Prime Minister Scott Morrison during a reception he hosted at Kirribilli House for the Australian and Indian teams on New Year's Day.

Mr Morrison stated that the function was an initiative of former Liberal PM John Howard though we can debunk this as myth as the now traditional reception at the PM's Sydney residence was instituted when Kevin Rudd was in the top job for the 2010 Test against Pakistan. This has been confirmed by a CA staffer at the time.  It was the brainchild of one of Mr Rudd's former advisors, Adam Collins, whose role included liaising with Cricket Australia regarding government-related issues.

Ok this is low level stuff, but highlights the paucity of truth that emanates from our Epiciopalian leader.

It is like the Liberals claim yesterday that their record with regards to women was superior to Labor's.

Very Trumpian.

Libs are most certainly capable of lying all by themselves, but they seem to think the leader of the free world being a pathological liar is something they can embrace and take advantage of and are giving a red hot crack with nothing to lose being 10 points behind in polls.

As I have explained before Isaac, authoritarianism is embraced by both ends of the political spectrum. It is called the Horseshoe Effect.

But then again both you and Donny would seek to alter the truth, a verb in this case.  Wink

That's not true Tlaz, why be so disingenuous?Confused

Remove subsidies from all forms of energy, and what do you think will happen - AGL won't be blowing up any more coal-fired power stations, will they!Wink

Based on supply, renewables are subsidised at a rate SEVEN(7) TIMES more than coal ... seems a bit unfair doesn't it?

So remind me, how are the ALP making power cheaper again?Embarrassed
In reference to every post in the Trump thread ... "There may have been a tiny bit of license taken there" ... Ok, Thanks for the "heads up" PT!

It sure is a "Nothingburger", particularly compared to the ALP/Greens lies! ... but at least you are doing some research SC! Clap... don't forget to post the link to the source, or it will lack all credibility, and appear that you have made it up yourself.
