They want the ex-con to be unemployed, using and dealing drugs again so they can call for tougher sentencing, bail conditions and deport those who can be deported and generally say I told you so..

Only conservatives can be rehabilitated and given another chance, or more commonly their crimes are ignored or covered up as you see with half of the LNP at the moment..

God knows what maccamax expects ex-crims to do after they are released.

Highly unlikely oneone.  Forgetting the overwhelming number of great coppers for a moment, the various forces are understood to have their full quota of crooks just at the moment.

Actually just checked the Vic entry requirements & it says you can apply 10 years after a date of being charged for a Serious Crime - including assault, fraud & drug trafficking. Funnily enough, the same 10 year ban is in place for failing a random breath test over 0.1 (5 years for less than 0.1). Isn't that just typical these days - drink driving = assault, drug trafficking. What's the ban period for getting caught eating a banana while driving I wonder ?

Mind you - completing the ban period & making an application is one thing - getting accepted quite another I would have thought.

Maybe they should ban you 10 times  for drug trafficking and 5 times for serious assault and 3 times for drink driving.

What should Barnaby have got.

When I first heard he was playing around in his Office I thought he was having problems with his Photocopier.
Can't blame me really , as he was overheard saying ....   If you turn it off it has to be warmed up before it becomes an effective producer & that's only if you press the right buttons.

Not really entitled to hold high office by those who think he pressed the wrong buttons.

The Deputy Leader of the Federal Labor Party would be 1st to come to mind.

Ronald Joseph Ryan would have been Prime Minister in Tlaz's world.

Had Sir Henry Bolte not intervened.

Stop violence against women.

"Following the alleged assault, a 44-year-old woman was charged with breaching an apprehended domestic violence order while a man, 47, was taken to hospital."Ouch

This has been well known to Government for over 12 months.  Pity it took a 7.30 Report to get the Coalition off its lard@rse "within weeks".

New regulations to prevent unlawful use of physical and chemical restraints in aged care

Posted 21 minutes ago

Aged Care Minister Ken Wyatt has announced new regulations to prevent the unlawful use of physical and chemical restraints, after the ABC's 7.30 aired images of dementia patients being strapped to chairs.

Mr Wyatt said the announcement was not prompted by the program, but a video in it showing a dementia patient being restrained had greatly disturbed him.

In the past 18 months, three national reports have recommended the Government regulate the use of restraints as is done in the US, UK and Europe.

Mr Wyatt said regulations could be in place "within weeks".

If the ALP were to purchase a back up generator big enough to power a stadium in this type of event, the LNP would be screaming about the waste of tax payer money, can't have it both ways.

Same thing happened a few years agos in the 49ers vs Ravens Super Bowl in New Orleans.
