Interesting new sire to Victoria. Could be a real chance at a reasonable fee.
Now having passed 1000 posts I feel you are all so much the wiser for my having said... stuff!

Real fast horse shame he didn't live up to his potential, Gai was talking of Royal Ascot before he lost his way. He covered 72 mares in his first year, has anyone on here used him or thinking of using him this season?

Doing a good job ...so far ..has had 2 winners from 5 runners and a placegetter. Both winners STAKES PLACED
Best horse I reckon is SUN QUAN ...ran 6th of 15 in $300,000 Vibos Sires a couple of weeks ago beaten 2lengths after drawing wide and kicking clear at the 150 mark. At his first  trial beat  Doubt I'm Dreaming.

Hello,
When I went back Squamosa's damline I see he traces to 'Spring Night', she is in Eurpoe the dam of the French Sires Cadum and Bubbles. Bubbles is the Sire of "Kaiserwürde", important foundationmare in Germany, ancestress of Kaiseradler, Kaiserstuhl, Königsstuhl (Monsun) and Kamsin. Bubbles appears in the damline of "Tiger Hill". Cadum is the Sire of Prince Bio (Sicambre).

regards, Ticino

Will be sending my mare Umagold to him this year. Was fortunate enough to pick up the service fee for the charity auction on bloodstock. well worth a try i reckon.

Ticinio any Squamosa was a very good racehorse but has had very few runners.  His foal crops have been small with two crops to run he's had only 35 starters for 15 winners and four black type horses.  So not hopeless but not sort after also.

May I ask what you paid? (PM is fine). I’m thinking of going to him this year and I’m not sure if the price offered is good or not. I think he’s doing a good job.

Been keeping an eye on him since we sent Umagold to him. Pretty happy with our choice now and was fortunate to get in at half price due to the charity auction. this covered the difference in costs as to staying locally. The mare is confirmed 45 days in foal and on her way home this week. Looking forward to hopefully a healthy mare and foal later in the year.

Well done, Shaun he has never had the massive PR push and like others will have to make it by results ,and not PR spin . Maybe the Blevic feeding straight in on the dam side is the Key to success with this boy , stout female line by his explosive speed Pedigree is a nice balance .

Squamosa Mare Wins G3 Breeders Stakes
Media Release - Wednesday November 14
Sun Stud's quiet achiever Squamosa was making news on Wednesday when his quality New Zealand based mare Kiwi Ida produced a career best performance to win her first Graded event.
The John And Karen Parsons-owned and trained Kiwi Ida was already a Listed winner and added a second stakes win to her tally when she took out the Group III Valachi Downs Canterbury Breeders' Stakes (1400m) at Riccarton on Wednesday.

Kiwi Ida - Race Images
The four-year-old mare, who was purchased by her trainers as a weanling for $4,000, settled towards the rear of the field for jockey Michael Coleman and sat three-wide with cover for the majority of the race before she was set alight at the turn to win by two lengths.

Coleman, who took the ride on the behest of her regular rider Chris Johnson, was full of praise for the daughter of Squamosa after the win despite a luckless run.

"I got there too soon, I got there a mile out," he said. "The one I was tracking into the corner wasn't really going much further.

"She's a lovely mare and has a great nature and gives you a good feel, so she's going to get more black-type along the way.

"I'm a bit lucky that Chris Johnson is suspended today, so I got the benefit of the win. It's great to get that jump up from Chris, he's a great rider and for him to tip me out to ride for someone is a good feeling."

Kiwi Ida's co-trainer Karen Parsons was also full of praise for Johnson, but said she was far from confident with her charge's chances mid-race.

"I have to thank Chris Johnson, he does all the work with her and he picked Michael Coleman," she said.

Squamosa
"I was a bit shaky when she was three-wide and last."

It was Kiwi Ida's seventh win from 24 career starts and her first stakes victory since winning last year's Listed Canterbury Belle Stakes (1200m) at Riccarton.

"I've never lost faith in her," Parsons said. "She has always had plenty of ability."

A brilliant son of Not a Single Doubt, Squamosa stands at Sun Stud in Victoria at a fee of $6,600.
From limited numbers he has achieved impressive statistics with 11% stakes horses to runners and each of his 22 winners earning on average approximately $60,000 in prizemoney.

Thanks Goldey, yep possibly that's the case. Ticking along nicely and I am happy with my choice. Uma will back up with a Needs Further foal next year at this stage. I have a beautiful filly here already and I am keen to go again.

Noticed this stallion just sold for $32,500 on Inglis digital.

Wonder where he’ll end up?

Has he been getting many runners & winners over the past few years?
