Hey cool you found it, but without any of the old posts...?

Oh well cool, better than nothing...good win yesterday, traveled so wide most of the race and was a rough ride for the jock, very green and fresh etc..

Has matured nicely and I thought was entitled to fall in a heap yesterday after that torrid run out wide, but kudos to her she stuck on very well.

it was a very nice win but griffiths has set it a big task tomorrow. Up to 1400 and is by magnus so has to be a query at the trip second up. If it wins its a very good horse

$6.50 fixed, I certainly didn't expect that. Track certainly suited, was very impressive nonetheless.

As one of the part-owners of Maglissa, we are thrilled with how she has come on this prep Smile and she is still quite an immature filly, so fingers crossed the best is still to come from this girl.Cool

The 4 at the bottom of the weights are the pace in the race and all have taken a claim. Hoping this means a good tempo. Don't want to be lugging 60kg and trying to wind up off a flat start

This race is terribly handicapped, look at it, it's almost a set weights with penalties, why do they bother.

Maglissa can overcome weights and measures

By Adrian Dunn

TVNThursday, January 3, 2013 - 1:07 PM

FACTS and figures may work against Maglissa in her bid for a hattrick in Saturday’s Thomas North Handicap at Caulfield, but Robbie Griffiths can fault his filly.

Griffiths said Maglissa, who overcame a poor start and the pattern of the day to win at Caulfield last month, had been able to answer each new challenge this campaign.

Maglissa, with Vlad Duric again in the saddle, must shoulder 60kg in the Thomas North.

“Weights and measures are against her on Saturday, but her wins have been fantastic,” Griffiths said.

“She really should not have won at Caulfield the way the race panned out. If she can win that type of difficulty in front of her, I would like to think she could take the next step.

“Based on the strength of the win and it’s basically the same field even though the weights are against us, I’m optimistic. It’s hard enough to win when everything is right let alone when she misses the start and comes from last.”

Evens, which ran third behind Maglissa at Caulfield, franked the form with her last start win  at Moonee Valley.

Mrs Hadlee, which was swallowed up in the last stride by the powerfully finishing Maglissa,  has a 0.5 kg swing on Griffiths filly after the claim for Jake Noonan.

Weights and measures against her..?
3 yr old fillies all of them
She gives those with chance only half a kilo
Those at the bottom are not in the same class so are taking advantage of claiming nubiles.

It won't be the weights that get her beat if loses, particularly over 7 furlongs, it will be the tempo and tactcs used in a small field, add whatever bias Caulfield is offering up and it could be quite a tricky affair.

She's good enough to overcome all these things, but I would like to see her put away after this for an Autumn freshen and target some early carnival black type ala Moody style, beat up on some unfit WFA horse 's getting ready for the oz cup etc...

Who's putting the horse down?? If that was aimed at me, you completely misread my post. I was simply wondering when supposed investigative journalist Adrian Dunn suddenly became a tipster and form analyst.
