Congrats to all concerned.

I'm only catching up with the news here after a week in North Qld …

Sounds like a very good win with more to come!

Cheers Rosscoe.

Being set for a 1600m 3yo at Sandown Wednesday week provided the track isn't a typical bog down there.

ps I well remember sPazman describing the colt as a spastic.  Well he who laughs last... Big smile

Must of read that wrong, thought it was the horse describing pazz

Well done guys.

Exactly. Without American in the field. Maluckyday beats the amazing So You Think and wins a Melbourne Cup off a BM70. That would have been absolute folk lore.

Just like the Rogan Josh moment before hard and tough Internationals started coming.

That is the Dream.

I would love to see more dreams like this.

The relevance is they are by the same sire, should have clarified. Oh and they both share a turn of foot.

Looks a lay to me. Straight from a very weak maiden to a Wednesday city race. If I punted on midweek racing I would be laying. Good luck though

I was at Flemington for Kwanza's last run and he never got a crack at them that day , so I think getting beaten by him by no means is a disappointing run , good luck next run guys .

Agree 100%. It's exciting to have a horse who's going so well, being competitive in town, on pretty much raw ability.

A very good run!

Was he hanging in the last 150m or so?

He seemed quite dour over the final stages & probably needs to be stepped up in distance very soon?

Thought the run was full of merit. He still has a lot to learn and today's experience would have taught him something. Caulfield can be a tricky track for those racing there for the first time. Inexperienced horses at the track while building momentum approaching the turn can sometimes try to run straight at the corner. It doesn't look like they are on the video but at ground level it's a different thing. He'll learn a lot from the run. I'd suggest Flemington 1800-2000m next run this campaign. Good luck.

I actually didn't think he seemed totally comfortable on the track/in the ground. As you said.....still learning a lot.

No shame in getting beaten by Kwanza....it is well bred and had some great runs against I think it was Refulgent.

Interested to know if Robbie is going to tip him out and let him grow a bit more. 1600m at Flemington looks ideal for him.

Congrats - I bet we all wish we had one like this coming through.

He didn't relish the track conditions, I also think he had a chance to be closer to Kwanza  in running.

I think his inexperience cost him his spot after jumping well.

We have all seen horses turn it in when they don't enjoy soft/heavy tracks, he doesn't.

Also the rail was out 13m yesterday and as we know, when the rail is out it makes it difficult for those off the pace.

In my opinion if yesterdays race was at flemington where the surface generally races at worst dead 5 the half length was able to be made up.

Its nice to see him compete over 1400/1600 and see he can make up ground in a higher tempo race rather than a staying trip.

You would have to suggest that yesterday the key factor was froggies ride on Kwanza. Very very well judged. Took the race up and catch me if you can. Its never easy to judge the pace of a race over 1600 and have the horse hold on and he did.

I loved the effort of Zadon and hope he has come through the race ok.

We met Rabbs for the first time yestarday and look forward to sharing the winning stall with him in the near future.

As he said the horse didn't handle the going and performed as he did on courage and effort.  He recovered well after the run, ate up this morning, and all going well will be set for a $30k 1900m race at Geelong in a fortnight.
